Love your content, and you are so genuine and relatable in the videos. I'm an aged gamer, so it's a pleasure to see a passionate, funny, real chap chatting about this stuff. I've only gone and rung the bell for you!
This is the third video I’ve watched regarding the steam deck and I gotta say your videos are great. Love the subtle humor and minimal editing. This makes me excited to try these games and get a steam deck. Since you love music and games it would be cool to see your favorite video game music
Agree with other comments, very enjoyable channel. I sincerely hope you’ve had a chance to try Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition (and it’s sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps)? The Ori games are incredibly gorgeous, possess very addictive game mechanics, and boast some of the most beautiful movements of music I’ve ever heard (no cap). The soundtracks for me are of the same caliber as Howard Shore’s LOTR soundtrack, JNH’s The Village soundtrack, the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack, and the Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses collection (my personal favorite of the Zelda soundtracks). Just pure “magic fuel.”
Admittedly, I'm getting old...39. I played Witcher 3 for the first time in October on the steam deck....and that's all I've played. It is the best game I've ever played. A masterpiece.
I played Firewatch a few years back the only thing disappointing about it was how short it was I considered replaying it on the deck but I am horrible I can't rewatch shows or movies because I remember them way too well and games are not much different the only time I replay a story game is if you have different endings. I do have Edith Finch on my backlog and Hollow Knight is on my watch list.
I had What Remains of Edith Finch in my Library for quite some time, waiting for the perfect moment to play it. I received my Steam Deck recently and I was stoked to see it's Verified. I'll be sure to come back to hear your thoughts on it once I finish it. Fun video as always, Mike! That "But Mike..." snippet always makes me smile.
One game I loved playing and now re-playing on my Deck is Okami. With danbert2000's fixed controls, inverted camera and light filter it just plays perfectly on Deck. It's an older game, but the style aged well and thanks to this it gets 5-6 hours of battery life. Not for everyone, it's more Zelda like, I thought I wouldn't like it but now it's my number one favourite game. This because of how charming and surprisingly fun it is, along with how well this originally PS2 game suits the Deck.
OMG DUDE YESSS! Honestly one of my most favourite games ever made. Such a great shout. So sad they never continued the series as it was honestly perfect in every way 🔥
8-Bit Music Theory also just uploaded a video on Okami's OST. Not entirely related, but the timing of being recommended it after watching some of your videos is funny to me. ua-cam.com/video/ML_dfWGYWmY/v-deo.html
State of decay 2 on proton ge works really well. Feels like it was made for a hand held. Also prodeus is good on steam deck, but only after remapping run to a back bumper and turning on gyro aiming.
Give Narita Boy a go! Or Dead Cells. Both amazing and very suited to the Steam Deck. I love some of the music for various levels in Dead Cells. Another great video BTW!
Only recently found your channel as I'm buying my steam deck soon and am binging videos. Ngl love your passion for gaming and creativity in your videos made me sub. Can't wait to see where you go with your videos :)
😎😎😎 Oooooo nice! I’ve heard so much about Chrono Trigger. The story is meant to be insane right? Lemme know what you think of it, would love to give it a play 😊
dude u've played so many similar games as me. i beat dragon quest xi and persona 4 on my deck so far . i put 165 hours into dragon quest xi and 105 hours into persona 4. something about the steam deck makes me get so much more immersed and i get into a flow state. oh and u gotta play bayonetta 1 if u haven't yet on deck. it runs 60 fps locked
If you liked Death's Door, I really recommend Tunic! It's easily my favorite Zelda-like ever. Rather than the standard Zelda/metroid formula where you have to unlock new equipment, most of the game is spent learning how the game works at a fundamental level, to the point where something as simple as running, increasing your stats, or fast traveling are all things you have to figure out through searching through the world and experimentation. Love the game to death, can't recommend it enough. (It's also very similar to Hyper Light Drifter, another Zelda-like that I heavily recommend)
Yes dude!! Only yesterday I was watching a review on Tunic. Looks so good, but your comment has convinced me to get it. Thanks so much for your recommendation mate 😄
dude that was such a great video i am defently getting that deaths door looks so good cant wait for that stream if you plan on playying FF14 i would defintly be down to jump on with you :D also still waiting on my steam deck the delivery feels so much harder wating than the email haha
Ahh thank you so much my dude! 🙏🏼 Yesss would love to stream FFXIV/play with anyone that’s up for that. Seriously need to join a guild too. Ahh it’ll be here before you know it man, excited for you to try it out for yourself 😊
I still have to recommend Hades to you! It is a rouge like where your death is part of the story and where the story progresses even after you finished your 1st successful run.
@eziothedeadpoet4654 Children of Morta is a roguelite similar to a Hades type game. Significantly different in ways, but similar. Also somewhat similar to a Diablo gameplay. Much more satisfying gameplay and story than a Diablo (for me). I enjoyed it immensely. Can't speak to it on Steam Deck though. I bought it on Switch. Played rough in the beginning, but that was a cartridge problem (I liked it so much that I also bought it digitally). The dev team is fantastic, so I can imagine it would play extremely well on Steam Deck.
I stumbled on to your channel looking for Steamdeck game ideas. Great content. Very chill. Iphone 14 pro aswell 👍 I saw some Genshin Impact quickly showing the characters. After the FFIV video, maybe you can do a similar video. Showing how to run Genshin Impact on the steam deck.
Your comment on Hollow Knight echoes my sentiments exactly lol. I also can't seem to get through a Persona game, despite how much I love love love the art style and music, I just can't seem to stomach the 'life sim' aspect. Though I've purchased it twice, on PS already, I think I might enjoy it more on the Steam Deck, so I'll wait for P5 on Steam. I've probably spent the most hours playing Hades and Valheim on the deck so far.
Yeah persona games definitely aren’t for everyone, and you really need to play for at least like…10 hours to properly get into the swing of it. Persona 5 is incredibly strong through, that may change your mind!
I would highly recommend Omori. It has my favorite story of any game I've ever played, a unique art style which sets it apart from everything else, and a great soundtrack too.
You complained bout Death's Door not giving enough screen time to the characters. You really need to play Hades. The gameplay and story is great, but the characters are the best thing about it.
Hey, loving the videos! Just FYI for your stream. 7pm uk time isn’t 7pm GMT, it’s 7pm BST. Just thought it was worth pointing out in case there was anyone from outside the UK joining
Just seeing and hearing P4G again makes me wanna jump back in. I’m so torn on where to get the Remaster though… PS5 or Switch? High res on a nice screen and console vs. handheld? Aaaaah. I wish Atlus would give us Cross save!!
I really liked "What Remains of Edith Finch" but it was very sad game. I played it on PC, might play it again once I get my SteamDeck. EDIT: I might try Deaths Door, the other one is not for me.
A lot of these games I got to play them on my Xbox series X via Xbox game pass and I know there is a way to get Game Pass X cloud to work I would love for Xbox game pass for PC to work so I could actually download the game onto my steam deck and able to play it without needing an internet connection, not going to lie a few of these games I might double dip on them if they go on a cheap sale especially that store another great game tunic and another game that was on Game Pass the ascent all great indie games that I love playing on my Xbox but I always told myself I wish I could have a handheld to play this on the go and now we steam deck I have the option I just wish I could download the game and not streaming hopefully that comes soon
Dude I frickin love you. This content is funny, and you're very easy to listen to. Love the energy and the calming, happy vibe. :) Subbed.
Ah man what an unbelievably kind comment! Thank you my dude 😊 I love you too. So glad you’re enjoying the vibe🙏🏼
I'm getting goosebumps hearing the music from persona 4. Holy crap I loved that game.

Ahh thank you so much dude. Massively appreciate your kindness 🙏🏼 Really glad you’re here bud
as a music person, highly recommend The Artful Escape. It’s not long or difficult, but the story + art is soooo goooood.
Thank you for the recommendation dude! I’ve never heard of the artful escape but sounds super cool. Thanks bud! 😊

I just got my steam deck and I'm loving it, your guide for getting FF14 on there was such a great help. I'm glad you're enjoying the games.
The persona singles clip had me floored!!
Good morning, Ghostbusters remastered on the deck is making my childhood dream of playing the ps3 classic on the go come tru!
I played What Remains of Edith Finch the other week, wow just wow.
Wow, you found a cool niche and do a great job of it. Love the channel and thank you!
That scene with your girl on the sofa killed me 😂 subbed man. Such great quality content! A joy to watch 👍🏼

Edith Finch is one of my all time favs. Beautiful and devastating all at once.
Admittedly, I'm getting old...39. I played Witcher 3 for the first time in October on the steam deck....and that's all I've played. It is the best game I've ever played. A masterpiece.
Another great video. I really like this format of trying a few games and telling us your thoughts on them.
Excited for your stream.

Been playing world of horror on steam deck and since halloween is coming around there is no better time to give it a shot
Your could talk about anything and I'd watch, the editing is great and the vibe is *chefs kiss*
Ahh thats so kind dude! Really appreciate you taking the time to comment something so nice 😊 Have a great day man
Firewatch can't wait for that video
State of decay 2 on proton ge works really well. Feels like it was made for a hand held. Also prodeus is good on steam deck, but only after remapping run to a back bumper and turning on gyro aiming.
Another great video dude, will look add these to my library for the Steam Deck for sure!
Another great upload. Loving the content and humorous take on stuff. Look forward to the next one.
Thank you so much man, massively appreciated!
Great video and that monstera is thriving!
Yesss persona 4 is such a bop! Glad you played it. I'll try to be there for the stream, super curious to see your reactions of the games you'll play!
Ahh I absolutely love it! The soundtrack has been so caught in my head all week 😂 That would be so great to catch you on stream! No worries if not 😊
Ahh I absolutely love it! The soundtrack has been so caught in my head all week 😂 That would be so great to catch you on stream! No worries if not 😊

Thank you so much my man! Glad you enjoyed it 😄 Have a great mate
Mike Vibe is back!
I'm currently playing through Chrono Trigger for the first time on the Steam Deck. So far, so good
😎😎😎
Oooooo nice! I’ve heard so much about Chrono Trigger. The story is meant to be insane right? Lemme know what you think of it, would love to give it a play 😊
@@mike.barnes That's what I've heard! I love the look of all these JRPG's.
I like it so far, but I'm only around 2 hours in, though
Heres another recommendation: Sable! Its not super polished but its a great hidden gem, looks beautiful and has great writing ☺️👌
Honestly Sable is one of my all time favorite games. Something about it just really clicked with me.
Bought it on sale! Thanks! Will move at the front row of my list
Awesome! Thanks so much dude, will absolutely get on this soon 😄

Mine didn’t get picked. 😢. Lol. Great job on the editing. 👍
LMAO, turning your Deck away so she doesn't see the first scene. Another great video full of top tier humor.
😉
After Hollow Knight you should play Aeterna Noctis!
Love the vibes on this channel. Also, way jealous of your house.
lmfao the waifu video in the beginning :D love your content! keep it up! one day down the line you should try out some city builders on the steam deck
Another very enjoyable video. Really like your content. Now that I have my deck, I need to play all those games you showed!
Thank you dude! Really appreciate it. Lemme know how you get on with the games
not long got my steam deck and loving it so far :D

Great shout my man! I played abit of hades awhile ago and really enjoyed it. Characters seemed full of personality. Will get on that asap!
@@mike.barnes Hades is amazing. Just as Children of Morta, which is a different setting, but deaths also progresses your story.

The music in hollow knight is 10/10
1:06 is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen
I would highly recommend Omori. It has my favorite story of any game I've ever played, a unique art style which sets it apart from everything else, and a great soundtrack too.
"Praise came down like a golden shower"
I did not know R Kelly escaped prison?
Yep to persona 4 golden

Yessss dude! Goes lots of recommendations for this one. Will get playing asap
If you’re into dungeon crawlers, I say Moonlighter or Children of Morta
Children of Morta was amazing.
Hahahahahha dying at the take me out edit

really like the video's you've been making. But tbf at this moment i just need to know where that shirt is from?
Thank you mate! Hahaha its from UNIQLO my man, they make the BEST shirts
Great video!

You need to play weird west if you haven't yet. The games amazing on PC and is perfect on the Deck imo.

I really liked "What Remains of Edith Finch" but it was very sad game. I played it on PC, might play it again once I get my SteamDeck.
EDIT: I might try Deaths Door, the other one is not for me.
Try something more casual like "Life Goes On: Done to Death". Dark humor side scroller puzzler. It's surprisingly good.
Haha I’m 39 and tempted to jump into Persona 4. I’ve always played JRPGs since the early days. Is it worth it?
Instant like before the video!
i also recommend The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Its really good!
Play Skyrim. I've got more steam deck hours on that than anything else, though cyberpunk is likely catching up.
i played p4g only for 2h time to finish it on the steam deck
golden shower 🤨

Wellp, 7pm GMT is 3am in my time zone 🤪. Maybe next time.
