Thank you for your review. I LOVE the fret markers. I don't use the side dots, so the lack of them is just fine by me.

What I like about this instrument is the authenticity. It’s designed *for* 4SB in terms of tone, looks, and the clever fret markers for harmonics. And therefore it’s for other players, if that makes sense - it’s been vouched for.
The uke isn’t just something which looks a bit like others 4SB uses, with his name on the front (and much as I think he’s great if I’m playing the instrument I don’t want someone else’s name on the front, but like the idea of having something somewhere). The ideal signature model, I think.
And the aNueNue Lion comparison is really making me consider it.

Yep, agree with the comment about pick-ups. Most uke players play at home because we aren't all rock stars and we're fine with that, so absolutely a pickup should be an option as I love the spec of some e-ukes but don't want to pay for some electric/ plastic box sat inside it for no reason. Also the comment about signature ukes. Yes I can respect some players but I'm not 10! I don't need to see and certainly don't want other people to see someone else's name plastered all over it. Really would be cringey. this uke has addressed everything so I'm very excited to get my order in for it!

Great review sir. I made the trek down to the south coast to pick my 4sb on Saturday. You're right, the spalted maple makes them unique. Your sound moon looks great. I left mine at the shop to get some uke logics put on it and it'll hopefully be with me tomorrow. Seeing your review just makes it more exciting ❤

Thank you for doing this review. I ordered one of these ukes today. I saw it online and it kind of jumped out at me. I liked the uniqueness it has. I also watched Sammy telling how this instrument came about. Great company combined with a great player and this is the product. Looking forward to receiving it. If I learn to play it I'll be golden!

FYI - I have a Flight Fireball solid mango tenor which came with Worth brown high G strings. I loved the sound, but found the Worth browns a bit hard to press for barre cords, etc., on that uke. Action was fine. Anyway, I changed to Uke Logic soft tension. (which I love on other ukuleles), but it really mellowed the sound quite a bit. I know that mango is not as loud a tone wood as spruce, but I am planning to change back to Worth browns again. Just wanted to share my experience.

Mine has just arrived. Great to play. Point to note - no serial number on the label? Would have been great to have a serial number as it is a signature series. NB. My Fireball tenor also doesn’t have a serial number. Beyond a certain price point a serial number helps with future value.
Looks like your ukulele has gone undercover without a serial number! Maybe it's a secret agent in disguise.
