Watching your videos inspires me, the way you mix colors blows my mind.
Those Coconuts are WILD! Great depth...you do an excellent job of explaining your process as well. I like how your pallet is in the video so we can see your blending and mixing process.
The knife scratching is important as what is taken away is as important as the pigment laid down.

Amazing tutorial. It looks realistic.. I have a question, when scrubbing, is the paper wet or not? I am new to the scrubbing technique

Can you please tell which three colors do you use in these demonstrations? You are a wizard, you create every shade from only three.

The scratching does not work for me.. insted of making the area lighter it becomes darker, dark stripes

Thanks for your feedback, I will make a revision of this lesson include the reference image at the corner.
Super painting
Whats your water colour?
Are there other reds that are close to Windsor red? I don't have Windsor red.
Laurie, if you do not have Winsor Red, then Cadmium Red is very similar. Let me know if you have other questions.
Thank you, I do Light and Dark, as well as Alizarin. I will look at you materials list on your website, now that I have found it. I see you are in the Boston area. Exciting for me. We have a home base in MA, at home of my family (we travel and pet and house sit around the world). I will increase my supplies when I get to California next month. Mexico all winter!
+LaurieSequana it sounds like you're living a very interesting life! Nice meeting you.
What paper do you generally use?
For my paintings I use Arches cold press, but when I demo for my students, I use Strathmore or Canson.
May I ask what kind of watercolor paper did you used❓
The paper I used in this painting was Strathmore cold press 140lb watercolor pad. you can see most of my materials on my website: enjoyingart.com/materials.php
