Rachel just wanted to tell you that I think you are a very lovely young woman. So proud of you for telling us about another artist on UA-cam. Still watching your bunny tutorial and all the others. Lol. But just had to thx you for being so charitable. Good on you. 🥰
That is so kind of you to say Alicia. It's funny, I was looking at the goals I wrote down for 2020 and one was to help an artist go full time. I didn't do that - the Universe didn't present anyone. But in January 2021 I found Agnes of Bodorka, and I hope to continue to help her. She sure has helped me so much with all her suggestions.
Oh I just love love love this! My nephews have bunnies and keep asking me to paint one but I had no idea where to begin. Glad I searched and found your channel I just love all your pictures and how you explain your techniques. Thank you so much 😊 x
I can't wait to try this, and try, and try again. I was confused by the soft black diagonal stripes that appeared out of nowhere towards the end, which l don't see on the finished painting. I'm guessing they were shadows, but they looked interesting.
Thanks Rachel! Loved this soft bunny....very helpful tips... Friends “across the pond” pronounce Arches ‘Arsh’...no s sound on the end and no hard ch sound. Most Americans, though, say it like the arch over a doorway. You would probably like Stonehenge 100% cotton cold pressed paper, in either 140lb or 300lb. It’s great paper. Arches is still my very favorite, but Stonehenge is a bit less expensive. Thanks again for the beautiful bunny!
@@rachelparkervarner I'll go look her up there; I actually have a year membership with SkillShare that I need to take advantage of before it expires again, lol.
That is a fun technique, I love it how the paint spreads out. Have you tried it with other colours by chance? When it comes to the paper, I couldn't find the one you suggested, so it will be Arches to try the technique for myself. Thanks for the great video! :)
@@rachelparkervarner Thanks! I'll try the technique, but I don't have the DS version, will try another lamp black first before buying a new tube. ;) I think there might be something in the collection, that works similarly.
Hello! I'm asking several of the watercolor artists I follow on UA-cam this question: What do you do with your learning attempts? By this I mean all the early-on, new to watercolor paintings that look terrible and are all wrong. What is a new student supposed to do with her practice pieces?
Tried to do your rabbit. I need a lot more practice doing watercolor. This is not for a beginner. It was a total disaster 😪. I will try easier stuff. Thanks for the lesson though. Someday maybe I'll try it again.
I've been working on a wet on wet black cat and have painted it 8 times last week and am still not happy with the outcome. Sometimes you just have to put the miles on the brush to get where you want to go!
I love this so much. I wish I could get my hands on some of that paper but gosh its super expensive. For anyone wanting to find Bodorka's channel here it is and I agree she deserves way more subscribers! Thank you Rachel! I can't wait to try the tutorial. Xoxoxo 🥰 ua-cam.com/video/CaTh6IvoqpY/v-deo.html

I love his work! At first i thought he used oxgall...but it IS the paper!
Yes, he said he just uses the paper and watercolor paint!

Great rendering techniques!
Thanks!
OOOOPS! There it is. Silly me.
This is awesome!! Thanks for sharing! Love it. My favourite of yours now :)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It was really a fun painting to do.
Well Bodorka has over 1k subscribers now. Nice tutorial. Bx
Yay! She deserves it.
Arches is pronounced like “arshhh”. You soften the ‘ch’ to ‘shhh’, and the ‘s’ at the end is silent.
Really? I thought it was pronounced “Are-shays”. Somehow, “arshhh” seems quite incomplete to me…✌️🧓🏻🤷🏻.
@@traekas7228 Yep, really! It's a French brand and there's no accent on the 'e'.
Wow love this! So cute ☺️💕
Thank you!! 😊
The painting looked very wavy while you were painting. Did it flatten when dry? Thanks!
Yes, it flattens out pretty well
Hahaha, now she has 41 subscribers! Thanks to you! I definitely subbed her channel and I LOVE your channel. Good recommendation!

A lot of people cut them up and use them in collage!
Was the original bunny white with black spots?
Yes : ) Happy New Year Sue!
