I feel like we all just had a taste or the Magnus effect, we're all trying to find a move for Alireza against Magnus, so of course Magnus doesnt have his queen hanging, it's just not possible...
I did, but I was holding onto my chair with seconds left, thankfully Alireza missed the free queen and lost the game.

I leave my queen hanging on A6 all of the time, but I never win any tournaments.

At game 1 even, which agadmator for some reason didn't mention, magnus blundered a bishop ( clean piece with no counter play whatsoever) while alireza did have sufficient time, he not only escapes but win(remeber against nepo too).
I think Magnus is 2830 only because there is no one to gain rating from that level, he clearly outplays his opponent like someone 200 above then does

You need to be an especially weak player (like myself, ELO 700) to spot Bxa6. Super grandmasters need not apply.
There is definitely a psychological element here with Magnus. The same used to apply for Tal and then Fischer and even Karpov and Kasparov in their day. There will come a time, but not yet. It's still a joy to watch them play as humans, albeit with ludicrously little time to think.
As I will continue to say until the end of time, fast chess is not chess.
Yeah, 100% accurate chess is chess, and that always ends in a draw. The fun of it, for humans, is the mistakes.

Antonio, Alireza made the same mistake that I did at the "pause the video" moment: didn't expect such a blunder from Carlsen - and tbh, I don't believe anyone expects such one from him.
Thanks for the recap of the games Agadmator I guess if top GMs can miss obvious and not so obvious moves time and pressure play a big role it’s why I enjoy watching classical games more so moves are more thought out these faster time format games are fun to watch and usually the better player will win Enjoy your day

Probably stress caused the slip causing both players to miss that.
Well - its not just about beating Magnus' errors or laziness because when he wants he still has the best chess of anyone - his peak cumulative accuracy rating is highest of all time with Kasparov and Fischer below him

This is why Im not a huge fan of blitz and rapid, its a comedy of errors.
you spread nonsense dude,Chess is a game that If played perfectly by both sides is a draw!classical is nice but too boring many draws, faster time controls is way more fun to watch.Only geniuses like Magnus and Alireza can reach the finals in this format cause indians for example are terrible at intuitions and pure chess vision

I don't really see the point of showing these poor games of these giants.
It is one way of showing that even the best amongst the best are only humans, you can't expect them to be accurate all the time,especially in time scrambles.
The point is Magnus moves ahead to the winners finals while Alireza will still get a chance to compete in the loser bracket I don’t know exactly how it works but the games are played to determine such things regardless if players make mistakes
I don’t understand why Magnus has so much respect for Alireza, the only title he has won was when he created his own tournament in order to qualify for candidates which he got smashed.
i think magnus likes alirezas playstyle a lot and alireza is also the youngest 2800 and the only one who can sometimes challenge magnus
He's won many many titles. Update yourself if you're not aware. He's won Sinquefield Cup, FIDE Grand Swiss, 2 Iranian championships, many rapid and blitz tournaments etc and he's just simply that talented. And more importantly, he's to this day the youngest ever to break 2800 classical rating. He's not even trying hard now and he's still able to compete so well at the highest level. Put some respect on his name.
I didn't even include all the online events that he's won.
