What I think I like most about Agadmator Vids is the near child-like admiration he shows for the players as much as for the game itself. Even with players that probably none of us have ever heard of before, to him they were all Legends. Kudos
From time to time I’ll see a modern game and delude myself into thinking, “Someday I could maybe do that.” But when I look at this game I see something awe-inspiringly out of my reach. Top 10 all time on the channel, Agadmator. Thanks.
Just watch Hikaru doing puzzle rush to quickly disintegrate all delusions. Somehow it just uniquely displays the galactic-scale chasm that is the skill gap between top players and casuals.
What the actual fuck was this masterpiece. I am listening to Agadmator doing the outro in AWE of what I just saw. This is the most insane set of consequences ever. Even the last nail in the coffin with that Rook back rank mate. I cannot believe my eyes!!!
Absolutely brilliant masterpiece! Chess is truly an art, where every game, especially like this one, has its own “unique story”, where all depends on you to create your own path to victory, constantly anticipating the path that your opponent’s trying to create
In Soviet Union they used to lock chess players into cellars with all available chess books and you only got out once you were at GM level, but by then you were a certified chess vampire and only wanted to come out for tournaments like Sasha here
Great to hear Agad, even after all the games he has analysed, becoming excited at the brilliancy. And he's right. The last twenty moves of this game are like a whirling sword-dance.
Korchnoi: Ten times a Candidate, four times USSR Champion, twice played Karpov for the World Championship at age 47 and 50. In the first match, he lost 6-5 after tying the match at 5-5. In the second, Korchnoi lost 6-2, playing with his son in a Soviet prison after it was thought he would be allowed to emigrate to the West the previous year. His highest FIDE Elo was 2818 in 1978, when he was almost 48 years old. Chessmetrics shows him world #1 from September to December 1965, world #2 or #3 for about fifteen years, and in the world top 20 from the early 1950’s until 1991, when was playing actively with a rating above 2650 at 70 years of age. In Jan 2007, Korchnoi was ranked number 85 in the world at age 75, the oldest player ever to be ranked in the FIDE top 100. Probably the strongest player to have never been World Champion.
After this wonderful Agadmator video, I have finally realized that my problem with chess, is that I do not decide to play perfect moves! 12:20 It's clearly a matter of personal decision, nothing less 😋
Thanks Antonio - I was going to send this game to a chess friend but I didn't want to give him a headache. It is one of the most complicated games I've ever seen.
Wow, how have we not seen this masterpiece before? As someone already commented, this is one of those games that make you realise how little you know about chess.
8:13 It lasts for 10 minutes and 2 seconds (started earlier at 6:51) in an Agadmator video, which must be some kind of world record! (Also one for the longest chess video probably, but we forgive you for this one as this game was absolutely amazing!) In chess moves the relationship lasted for 13 moves :O
Korchnoi vs Karpov brought us some memorable moments. Hypnotist/ Psychiatrist staring Korchnoi down. Magical yogurt messages. A war of attrition. Karpov ended the match weighing in at about 110 pounds. Those were the days!
This game is SO brilliant I think it would've left even Paul Morphy slack-jawed with awe! This one is beyond immortal. (I wonder if Bobby Fischer ever commented or even knew about this game).
I was having a miserable day. I always have a chance to make things better. Of course, that is going to Agadmator's channel. Here, you have presented one of the very best games, you have shown in the history of your amazing channel. What a game. What a joyous analysis. Thanks for making my day better. There is now a smile on my face. Cheers.
11:40 that Rf3.. Stopping a check by blocking with a rook which in turns gives a discovered check but you can't give mate in one because you pinned yourself to the King.. maybe a simple move but it still amazes me how chess can give so many beautiful positions no matter if you play 10000 games or watch 1000s of games. And of course 10:53 both the black knights hanging in front of white's King like some fearless zombies ready to sacrifice themselves. I've not even reached 12 mins of video but it has already blown my mind.
Finding the strongest move is the dream of every chessplayer... except for Tal, whose dream was to create a storm on the board.More games like this, please.
agadmator saying stuff like this instead of challenging it is annoying. chess is not about drama, and chess players are awful dramaticians. chess drama is extremely boring.
@@iidoyila_live_ He is challenging it by showing actual chess games from people most have never heard of rather than making big clickbait titles about Hans or Magnus or whatever else. Obviously chess isn't actually more about drama than chess. He was saying that facetiously before gong on to make an excellent video with no drama. How slow are you?
I actually bought this particular book just the other week. Found it in a second hand shop, price was 20 sek which is equivalent to 2$. Must be considered as a good bargain.
Another great video. Thank you. quite informative as ever. And the comment too....'the longest relationship ever lasted' Wait until Agad's wife watches the video. Or maybe she doesn't and hence he gets away with these comments......lol On a serious note though, Agad, please keep making more videos. There's a scarcity of humble people in the youtube community creating such great content. Thank you.
Quite a player and a major piece of Chess History was a candidate competitor ten times he was considered the strongest player never to become World Champion he was defeated by Karpov twice after Karpov had become World Champion because Fischer defaulted what a game powerful Checkmate that king pinned down surrounded by an arsenal Thanks Agadmator
In case anyone is wondering what happens at 16:20 in case *if PAWN takes* the White Queen ... ... *THEN* ... simply White Rook moves along F file for a discovered CHECK (by Bishop) and a forced Mate in 2 ! :) .

Just Wright a book man only this we need
Korchnoi was a legend, every chess player should know his name
@@rrevh12345 in his time, he was huuuuuuge. Simply he got overshadowed by the drama of Karpov / Kasparov rivalry.
Korchnoi!!??? One of greatest of all time!!
You have to be a chess casual if you don't know Korchnoi
Agadmator best chess channel 😤

16:44 "I feel bad for having this channel so long without showing you this game."
"It's the longest relationship that ever lasted!" LOL
Noticed that too 😂
The last half of the game pivoted on the single question of if and when the discovered check by White's bishop occurs.
It seemed long in the video, but in real life it might have been a whole hour! Longest relationship ever!
Fake news, I've had a relationship with these underpants for way longer! :p
We don't care about the length of the video if the game is so good. Wow, Just wow! This was an insane game!
