Magnus: blunders his queen Alireza: there must be a trap that I do not see, no time to find it Alireza would probably have snapped up that queen playing anyone else. Magnus's legendary status defended him in that game.
The Queen blunder prooves that theyre only human. Magnus with the tunnel vision, alireza only seeing what he expects to see. And noone expects Magnus to hang a Queen. Not even with 1 sec on the clock

Wow, thank you gotham chess. I had no idea magnus carlsen was good at chess, but because of this video I now know that magnus carlsen plays good chess. Thank you for bringing the news. The title and thumbnail has really drawn my attention as magnus carlsen playing good chess was such an astonishing occurence.
White is better but Levy doesn't mention its quite a forcing sequence - Qd2 a6 Bxc6 Qxc6 and White has a couple of moves (not blundering an exchange with Qxc2, the rook on h1 is hanging), its still sharp, the line is in a few Chessable courses, I think Alireza might have played Nf3 to try and avoid Magnus's prep.
Dear Levy, per happenstance i discovered your comprehensive conversation with Lex Fridman from last year - i think - a couple days ago. It was a fascinating talk, really good stuff. Friendly greetings from Austria, thank you for all the interesting content you create!
I think this is the level that they are in a zone where even the computer cannot understand what they are playing, so it keeps giving the question mark.
