I agree with you, after all, most plugins nowadays are on the same level, the thing is to know which one spends less processing on your cpu and which one has the best price. This is making the difference nowadays!
Its a giant rectangular box with tape inside of it..... i mean u serious bruh, in the digital world its hella archaic, so are dvds when data can be etherically digital, the spirit woorld man
This is great, thank you! This might sound like a stupid question, but could you recommend any sound bundles or sample packs? I use Logic Pro X and all the default instruments and sounds in the library are just not diverse or exciting enough. I don't know enough about sound design yet, so don't want to spend too much time on trying to create my own. I love the sounds that you used for this track. I struggle in particular with finding the right drum sounds and bass sounds. Would you consider making another video about this? Thank you!
Definitely. This is the pack that I used to make a majority of the beat: bit.ly/33r8KqH I also used LABS by Spitfire Audio for the piano sound, which is a great free piano VST. Get it here: labs.spitfireaudio.com/ Let me know if this helps!
First of all, thank you for the selection and presentation. I would like to note something important: "[...] pitchmodulation is a key-characteristic of Lo-Fi sound [...]" - absolutely not the fundamental key. In my opinion, the key is simply the sound. Whether modulated, 'low frequency' or room acoustic. Microphones, amplifiers, acoustics and the nature of the instruments or sounding bodies and the purposeful use of these components are more essential to an understanding of "Lo-Fi". I don't want to go too far and just give a few examples (where pitchmodulation is 'missing' or doesn't play a crucial role...): Tom Waits - 'Bone Machine The Doo Rags Enon - 'Believo!' or someone like "Brushy One String" (Chicken in the Corn) just by the way he plays and that he plays an inferior guitar with only one string. Even with the best microphones it/he will keep a lo-fi touch. So, sing the tracks in the oven, miked from a battery powered junk amp, the drums in the bathroom, broken cymbals, a bag of screws stuck on the drums, a funnel in front of the mic or whatever.... If it then, wherever, for the taste or creative implementation needs pitchmodulation, do it. And I find it a pity that the effects here are actually only demonstrated on one and the same track.
Hi bro, thanks a lot for the video. I like your vibe and how you teach stuff. Got a subscriber! One of my fav lofi plugins is Goodhertz Lossy, one of the best sounding redux plugins around. Also J37 is literally a lofi must-have imho!
Sorry if I am a bit late, but what DAW did you use? I am currently ne wto this field of music and would like some recommendations to which DAW I need to use. Thanks.
@@marcuspede Hey Quackzi, I'm using Ableton Live in Session view. You can press tab when you have Ableton open to toggle between Live view and Session view. I hope that's what you mean!
The music you use is so sparse that it's really hard to hear the grit of any of the bit reduction effects you demo. The grit on the mpc 60, 3000, s950 and sp1200 where you can start to hear the gaps between the bits is the thing that I've never heard any plugin come close to. All the other effects you show there's a million plugins that do the same.
I feel ya. Not all free plugins are bad though. You can produce quality music with the tools that are currently available just in your DAW. The paid plugins are a bonus imo.
@@varaxmusicshorts2090 this shit used to be way more expensive... It has never been so cheap to get quality stuff. I mean you even get capable free DAWs.
They're good plug-ins but they're not worth £150.I'm paying something like £20 p/m for Retro Color rent to own from Splice and got a cracked version of the Vulf Compressor. They're definitely impressive but they're not too different to Izotope Vinyl which is free.
You can easily get it for 75 if you post a vid on social media of you using the trial ... Just saying. But you people are even to lazy to research something like that...
That drum track is irritating - there are 3 clacking sounds that are coming out of nowhere, and totally throwing off the beat. It is ruining your entire beat.
Great review thanks guys!!

I just want to know how that piano sound was produced. Its so beautiful!
It came from this sample: samples.landr.com/recommendations/7e8e3c2f-ae0a-48b6-aac9-bc0ee97aec6e but it sounds like a rhodes

Great review and in depth!
Thanks for watching
Great video bro, I need more plug ins 😩

Alchemy is not diverse? Maybe if you're not looking for synth kind of sounds. Other than that, it's a universe of sounds and possibilities.
Love-Fi my friend
did you use a plugin to get those drum sounds?
if so, which plugin is that?
What drums did you use during the goodhurtz vulf segment???
Hey ???, the drums I used all came from this one sample pack: bit.ly/33r8KqH
