Great Video!!! Lace Flat has amazing side chain features like allowing you to move the hard limit & clipper from mid to side. Makes it even more transparent!
Schwabe Gold Clip is true golden. It's on my 2 bus just before my SSL X-Limit. I use the SSL DeEss. I've done a trial on Weiss plug-ins shown. They're really great, I just didn't get yet. I need to check that Acustica limiter and Sonible Smart lineup. Thanks David for the info. All the videos make me more knowledge.
I dont have most of the plugins, but I do have the Weiss bundle, and I think its amazing. Thanks for the other tips. Also, dont mean to come across ignorant, but why would you want the Decibel metering on your phone? How does it help with workflow? Thanks
Their entire plug in collection is Awesome..... From the Free versions , and a small price for the full fledged GE editions (specially on sale) are Honestly so underrated, because they generally cover most things many think they need, or DO need......IMO
Did you try out Hifiman headphones yet? I bought Hifiman Ananda Nano recently and when applied little eq to match it with harman curve it opens up and sounds like speakers. Maybe adding a bit crossfeed with canopener will help. Those planar magnets give out much transients and detail.
@mixbustv yeah, I've seen that video. But why didn't you include it in the top list? Just wondering, is it not as good as the plugins from this list? Thank you
Every year I watched your awards video. Been with the channel for years. Love you and bella, love the stuff you guys do! I had a question: I understand well what the maselec is doing, transparent parametric etc. so why not just Pro-Q?
Curves, that's pretty much it. I did a video some time ago showing how even patching in the Maag for example, and how bands interact with each other would take a long a time to recreate. And those EQ and curves are tried and true.
@ well yeah! Almost forgot about that, that they have different q factors etc that’s built in from the get go so you just dial in rather than spending hours on Pro-Q. Thanks for the response! Also mcdsp ml4 is a not talked about insane plugin

@ I know it’s why I ask… you’d know if this could remove things from the list… although, kinda expected that each thing still was special. The tape I’m super impressed with. Definitely will be my unit for mixing and mastering for a while. Before branching out fully. It’s not only a massive value but a big headache avoider when getting back into it and doing it professionally. I used to be super quick with my DAW’s but can imagine I’m going to be a bit brain dead to begin with and it’ll be much easier to remove headaches elsewhere. I’m still working on figuring out a few units to complete the package but the subject of plugins is a lot harder field to narrow down in. They’re almost too accessible to get a proper understanding when doing your research via others opinions. I am wondering with the tape from the APB if I could get a good effect simply doing what I’d do with real tape where you bounce tracks down and back into the DAW before mixing… thinking I could then regain all the channels in the APB after. Obviously you want to make sure you can change things on the fly but wondering if this might be an achievable work flow. I do wish it could do fully analog EQ, but because it doesn’t I can see that even the EQ plugins can still be relevant.
Man I guess I have done well given I have a bunch of what you have. Lol. I just got Aquamarine and prefer it over the PA version. I also just got Green Ultra and that whole suite is amazing. I have been singing the praises of Ozone for years now and 11 Advanced is a crazy good value for what you get. Smart Limit is also very handy. I also use Ash for clipping but I also have Lace. I got back and forth on those. Kazrog's Kclip3 is great but I also add their True Iron to the master buss to give it a bit of heft. Love the V178 or 111C preamps on that one.
DMG Limitless made me sell the Weiss DS3 and Pro-L (both great, but Limitless is a different league). I am only sorry it took me until this year to finally explore it. I still keep Lace around though; some of those algos do something lovely that I don't want to lose.
@@mixbustv Not sure why you think it wouldn't? DS1's great but it's a completely straightforward limiter. Limitless can work the same way, or you have deeper options if you want them (and I do).

🔥🔥🔥- How do you typically use the TDR Ultrasonic on your Masters? DO you place after your clippers and limiters?

Thanks again for a great list. I like using BX True Peak for my final limiter. I’ll bump up the xL knob a bit on songs with real instruments.
This is a super helpful list... don't hear much about the mastering side of plugins
Without it just being about the singular plugin... not the list of the best of the best
Aquamarine 5 has been my go to for years nice to see that you use it.
Random but I just want to shout out your use of the English language.... it's top notch.
Thanks for the valuable recommendations. A dedicated review of the Relab Maselec MEA-2 would be great and also very appreciated!

Very well done! Besides my analog gear I use PSP Audio ware plugins ( beta tester since 2003) and also plugins from Sonnox, iZotope and Fab Filter.
Great information. Thank you David. Love the channel.

I still use IK's Stealth Limiter due to your recommendation. Is it time to look for something newer / better???
I definitely used to use it more often years ago. I think it has been surpassed by Sonible, Ozone Max, AOM, DMG yes
Thank you brother happy holidays
To you too!
Thank you so much. Too many plugins to know which ones do what when operating on a low budget. Your info is superb.
When on a low budget subscriptions go far like the Kilohearts bundle, I think softube has one too.

They added them in an update
