When I was a kid growing up in Hawaii back in the 60s, there was a Japanese radio station that played this kind of music all day long. It was considered ordinary, matter of fact and was playing in the background in many japanese homes. Now it's considered special and culturally significant. Funny how times change and this generation is just discovering there's more than their belly button to experience

尺八の音色は 懐かしい故郷の思い出を調べにしたような音ですね。この素朴な音に魅せられてきます。三味線も味噌汁のような美味しい香りと味になんとも言えない音の響きがあります。どちらも日本の奥ゆかしい豊かな味があり 静かに畳に座り演奏楽しみことが醍醐味になります。私は庭の木に目をやりかすかな木立の揺れと演奏の妙味が爽やかになりました。この素晴らしい日本の音楽は至上の喜びに満ちています。

古典尺八や、古代尺八=「一節切」（ひとよぎり）にも目を向けられていたのでしたね。
元素的な古代尺八の音色を、氏はどの様に醸し出すのか興味津々です。
「天吹」にもどうか触れてみていただきたいものです。
同郷（長野県）のお方であることも其の時知って、なんだか嬉しかったのを覚えています。
