Beautiful!!!!!
Right? **Drums play in background** lol
Lol that sound, like the little boy from the meme taking a basketball to the head xD haaaaaaaaaayaaaaaaah
3:18 bruh his timing as well as pitch clarity & articulation is so clean. anyone who has never heard this music would think it's a sample
that man can shred on that shamisen 👏👏
I am from West Virginia....we call it a banjo.
@@williamhensley8698 Doesn't a banjo have a higher pitch?
They both actually came from an instrument in Gambia, Africa. The slaves that went to the US made the banjo and the Japanese made the shamisen.
@@will_of_d8001tf are you talking about? Shamisen is older than banjo. Shamisen is from 16th century. Inspired by chinese instrument call sanxian, ancient instrument. Banjo is new intrument start in 1880, shamisen from 16th century. This is eastern instrument
How is that guy so ripped from just dru..... oh.
7-pound drumsticks
My shoulders hurt from.watching this
I saw him headbang while playing the shamisen.
Where bro?
懐かし過ぎます!

i played this for my gekko and he turned into godzilla
😂😂😂😂

Oddly enough, gekkō in Japanese means "moonlight".
I don't care how many times I listen to this it never stops being an amazing musical piece, or simply astounding at their timing, and the drummers physical endurance.
Ar you stil listening this?
This should be preserved forever as a treasure. These guys are incredible!
the stamina to play this intensely for 14 minutes straight and not miss a beat is seriously impressive
Me knocking on my front door at 1am 8:29
haha :-D
😂
That drummer doesn't need to workout 😁👏👏
That IS his workout lol
greenseba Chillout son. This was over 20 years ago.
@@natyqueen I think he was referring to the fact the performance was 20 years ago as according to the info box under it, this performance took place in 1997
i hope he's single

It's crazy how different cultures condense so much of their own unique energy into their music and that only in the last 3-4 decades have we been able to share that with each other.
Its not only the skill, which is incredibly amazing, but the huge endurance you need to keep playing the drum with that power and speed for such long time =O .
Furthermore, the other musician is amazing too =) .
Yeah, that mans shoulders must be burning!
Both are IN THE ZONE
That drummer IS the zone.
@@9716-i7f 😂😂😂 thank you
If he has kids, I bet they're terrified to do anything that would merit a spanking
lol.

"What is your talent?"
"Beating the living hell out of a giant drum."
How do you even...start learning something like this?
Kenny Laysh Japan they have everything
You find someone who already knows how to do it and ask them to teach you.
Most taiko groups in America have an o-daiko, but you have to earn your way there usually. May take years depending on the dojo
I saw a documentary on this once. A group of young people, men and women lived in an austere communal house in the mountain to learn the art. It reminded me of a working monastery or convent
Kids learn it. I've been to festivals where they have all the kids doing drumming. They look so serious with their headbands and expressions but it's the cutest thing you'll ever see
This is a level of artistry that should be felt live as well as heard.
Harold Ishoy absolutely! I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to go to Taiko performances in the past, and it’s indescribable live- you feel every little bit of it!!!
Medieval period Japanese music concert. I imagine the samurai in massive mosh pits in front of this. Whoever tires first must seppuku .
Lmao
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bruh u made my night with this comment
This is why terrorists attack us.
Hahahahahahaha
Really didn't think I'd watch the entire performance. I did. I loved it. It keeps going on in my head long after it's stopped. The amount of respect the drummer gave to the other performer was very humble. They both deserve the applause. Great fellows.
*He's really slapping that bass.*
*_NOICELY APPROVED_*
Hands down, the most intense percussive performance I've seen. The dude is literally slamming as hard as he can and screaming like a battle cry
I can imagine a samurai fight scene with this music
And they call him Jack....
The physical endurance the drummer has is next level. Shoulder pump to the max.
This is what Sekiro music should've sounded like
Ghost of tsushima
Even Kung Fu Panda got it right
@@Kuhn3y Kung fu panda had Hans Zimmer so you cant compare that...
U can say that again
@@Kuhn3y Kung Fu Panda is set in China, not Japan
This is really impressive. These guys are both masters of their craft. The music is simultaneously powerful, elegant, subtle and brutal. Truly a masterpiece. It gives me goosebumps even though it's sweaty mid-summer.
This level of skills and talents are pure maddening insanity.
This guy for 15 minutes non stop beating those drums. Hes a strong man. Thats not easy i would imagine 💪
I have no clue how I got here but I enjoyed this moment ^^ impressive
same here!
Gotta love youtue journeys lol...when they go right lol.
Me: *trying to sleep*
My neighbors at 3 am:
I would have actually enjoyed that
Why you trying to sleep at 3pm? Thats a totally reasonable time to play drums.
@@xjunkxyrdxdog89 I guess he either had a REALLY hard day, or forgot to change to am.
Lol 😂 3 pm or A.M ? Dude 🤣
Why you sleeping at 3 pm do you work third shift lol
I played this during my workout and now every time I go back people bow to me and call me sensei.
I'm nicknamed blacky sensei for working out in black while listening to this kinda music
Nice now your looking like a masterpiece
I played this and I didn't even have to workout
OMG! There are so many talents in the world which I still have not discovered ...Unbelievable performance! 👌
That's what I thought when I found this sublime performance.
Is Zeus your God?
Ah, those early Japanese raves! Those were the days!
Maybe it was watching martial arts movies as a kid
But this shit makes me think there is going to be an insane fight
Either way these guys are great

This back and forth between them was amazing and concluded in an awesome way
The most incredible things are said when humans are forced to speak without their mouths. Brilliant.
The interaction between the pair reminds me somewhat of some sitar/tabla combinations I've heard in Indian classical music.

@@jomatt8803 No thanks. I'm trying to cut down.
Hmm this sounds really interesting actually. Do you have any recommendations for classical Indian music in a similar vein?
