Excellent information. I had difficulty sourcing the part number for the transmission filter bolts. I am planning to change the fluid and filter in my 2021 GMC 1500 Denali with the 3.0L Duramax after the dealer quoted $750 for the service. Do you have the torque specifications for the filter and pan bolts?
I’d check with another local dealer. We have several of these in 1500’s and the Allison badged version in our 3500’s. Whenever the dealer does it it’s around $400. They do pan drop, filter replacement, and a flush. (I’m in so cal for reference)
How many quarts could you actually pump out the fill plug? I have the 6.2 and it would take a lot of time just to get the pan off. I was hoping I could just pump some fluid out and replace every 10k. I have 98k on the truck. The trans temp stays around 140-150 when not towing.
Torque to yield fasteners on a filter. Now I’ve seen it all.

good choice on the ULV fluid. Amsoil doesn't even come close to meeting spec.
I’ve seen a lot of people put it in theirs and they say it shifts smooth. I agree though, the ULV viscosity doesn’t match OEM.
@@danbell6380 honestly a lot of fluids will work but Amsoil would be far from optimal in this application
@@davidporter7051 I run valvoline ULV and have had zero issues
Torque to yield bolts on a plastic filter??
They go through the filter and bolt to the valve body.
Did you use the gasket or RTV for the pan? Thanks
@@j_white1305 is used the new gasket shown in the 4:15 mark of the video.
You don’t use RTV
What’s the torque spec for those trans filter bolts?
44 in pounds plus 128 degrees for the filter bolts. They are Torque to yield and are one time use
Does that thermal bypass work with the gas 10L80?
you don’t need it, it doesn’t run as hot as the diesel transmission
I beleive it should.
