@randyborrero8604 I would double check the lookup guide and you can order it right off my website and that way I will be your independent Amsoil Dealer always get extra I recommend buying it by the case of gallons if you are doing a lot of fluid changes I think the pan held right around 7:00 and then the transfer case was about one and a half so one case of quarts you should be good. Some vehicles have more than one transmission type so always double-check on the lookup guide and get extra just in case. Also if you bought a car used it could have a oversized transmission pan on it always good to check underneath could possibly have an oversized pen which they usually hold about an extra 3 quarts. Also if you want to get the best value on the products I highly recommend the 6-month preferred customer that will give you the very best value and benefits. @@Syntheticoilprotection Your website guides states the 10R80 Capacity is 13 quarts to fill, so a case of 12 will not be enough according the reply above…
@randyborrero8604 yes that's correct the pan holds right around half of the fluid so it just depends on the pan that's on the vehicle if you have an aftermarket pan it could hold an extra 3 quarts more there's two different ways that they register the fluids there's the initial fill and total fill initial fill is what's in the panda a total fill total Phil is what the total capacity torque converter in the PIN
I've been an automotive tech for 40 years YOU would not believe how many people would argue with you on how long the fluids will last but the manufacturers say this SO HAPPY TO SEE SOMEONE ELSE TO EXPLAIN IT AS WELL KEEP IT UP
I just do a drain and fill once yearly on my 04 Jaguar XJR. She is driven hard and makes about 415 lb ft torque right now, daily driven, lots of city driving.. just did a fluid-only-flush recently
My dad is one of those people who will INSIST that the manufacturer knows best. He waits until the exact mile to do the service, and doesn't care what anyone says. He's paid for it a few times and still won't change his ways.
@mcmuskie2563 well it gets you by for 60000miles & 5 years. That's it's job & life......ect Lifetime ATF fluid is to end of new car warranty. If I drove my car to 105000 miles in Vegas heat with out changing the Fluid to Amsoil it would have been dead at 80k miles. This is my car - ua-cam.com/video/pbhhEuGsh-I/v-deo.htmlsi=9W_hEScFCMdW0YcC

You can see right on the bottle (13:48) that the Amsoil might be a good alternative to the Mercon LV (so fine for the T-case), however there is not currently an Amsoil ATF spec'd to replace the Mercon ULV. They have very different viscosities: Mercon ULV viscosity = 4.5cst @ 100C (19.2cst @40C) Amsoil SS FE ATF = 6.3cst @ 100C (30.8cst @40C) Simply put, you would have to run the Amsoil SS 15-20F hotter for the same viscosity at a given point that your ULV would supposedly be at. This probably isn't a very big deal once the fluid is up to operating temp, and might even be somewhat beneficial to people who like to run their vehicles hard. But the shift programming is still going to be calibrated (optimally) for the ULV viscosity to temperature relation. The biggest concern, is that the ATF is going to be thicker, more resistant to flow and yield higher line pressures (Pressure = resistance to flow; higher oil/line pressure is NOT always a good thing) when cold while coming up to operating temp. Especially for those of us who operate our vehicles year round in cold climates.
Both of those fluids are the ulv specification Signature Series fuel efficient ATF meets that specification you'll see that under C full technical data bulletin and Amsoil also came up with a specific product just for that transmission that's a little bit thinner and that is called the ulv Amsoil Signature Series ATF - ua-cam.com/video/upqN5opizR8/v-deo.htmlsi=MiR_We6fefB9wJde
@@Syntheticoilprotection Thanks. I see there is a correct ULV made by Amsoil (green lid) with the required 4.5cst @100C Kinematic viscosity requirement for transmissions that require ULV fluid. I'll give it a try during my next transmission service.

The back of the Aims Oil bottle stated it was good for Ford Mercon* LV @13:57, but 307-01 Automatic Transmission manual calls for Mercon ULV (XT-12-QULV) and even warns against using anything else other than that. Even after looking at the technical data, how can it meet viscosity requirements needed for both the transfer case (LV) and transmission (ULV) at the same time? Will be interesting to see how it holds up past the 100k mark.

I waited a little longer on my 2018 f150 , changed fluid and filter at 60k , my mechanic used the amsoil atf not the motorcraft ulv , i swear it shifts like new , im so glad i did, mechanic said the old fluid was somewhat dark
That's awesome yeah it's such a beautiful process and it's so cool as you change all the fluids over I'll never forget when I first did my Corvette the first time
How is it going a couple months later? I checked Amsoil ATF (LV?) vs Mercon ULV viscosity on their technical datasheets and they are completely different... no one else with 10r80 experience reccomends moving away from true to spec ULV fluid.

I just did this job today after 95,000 miles on factory fill. The truck has been boosted and driven hard for the last 25,000 miles. There was a mildly alarming amount of metal on the filter and pan magnet, but not horrendous all things considered. The job took 7 HOURS on my back in the cold and rain to accomplish. The coyote equipped 10R80 is way more of a pain to deal with. However the truck now shifts like it did when it was new.
I'm on 70k milea and have not done this yet. Still shifts as it did when I first got it. I was told these transmissions were sealed from the dealer, 2020 f150 2.7
14:02 that fluid covers ford Mercon LV or low viscosity. The 10R80 takes Fords Mercon ULV or ultra low viscosity. You will get hard and improper shifts with the incorrect fluid. 🤦🏼♂️

I always take the fill ,dip stick plug out first. One to makes sure it will come out so it can be refilled after draining, and second , to be able to drain as much fluid out of the pan first so as not to spill the fluid while removing the pan.
Nothing to be scared about if you have the proper tools it's pretty straightforward. Most important thing is to not overfill the transmission. Also you do not need a lift because the truck sits high enough. I always like to say it's more about experience not so much about being Book Savvy if you work on these Transmissions every day you can totally trust someone to work on it if someone is not used to doing it they can make a small mistake and it could be over or under filled. That's why I recommend being there when you have someone do it on your vehicle for instance if you are there and have a mobile mechanic come to you that way you can supervise the process
@marksullivan3424 awesome yeah those ones are very sensitive I recommend changing the fluids a lot sooner on the Toyota definitely there's been some big changes with Toyota lately and have had seen a lot of breakdowns so I recommend changing all the fluids earlier than later☕️
Did the fluid change in my transfer case and 10R80 trans today. Amazing how much smoother the transmission shifts. Amsoil is no bullshit. The fluid that came out was nice and clean still but the performance with Amsoil is much improved.
You can use either one they both meet the specification the new viscosity they came out with is a little bit thinner and will perform slightly differently however the thicker film strength will give a higher Shear stability under high heat.

Yes that's correct this fluid does meet that specification that's just an old label but Amsoil just came out with the new ulv packaging specifically for these Transmissions👌💯. However the fuel efficient Signature Series ATF is still compatible - www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-signature-series-ulv-100-synthetic-automatic-transmission-fluid-ulv/?zo=5331179
Yeah it's definitely tougher to do it laying on the ground he can totally be done it's just a project and it's messy with the fluid if there's any wind the fluid will spray everywhere and definitely something to think about before diving head first into the process😄😉
It is not on the bottle for the bottle has an outdated label it's on the C full technical data bulletin for details under the product description you will see it right here on this link - www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-signature-series-fuel-efficient-100-synthetic-automatic-transmission-fluid-atl/?zo=5331179

It's very fine print tough to understand but it's definitely there and I have used this fluid on many Transmissions here in the channel and it is a game changer - www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-signature-series-fuel-efficient-100-synthetic-automatic-transmission-fluid-atl/?zo=5331179
A good rule of thumb for a transmission is the 30000 Mi of City driving and 60,000 Mi of all highway driving. Also fluids time out with oxidation and contamination that gets into it with moisture so personally I wouldn't go over 3 years on transmission fluid if it was my personal vehicle. If you do oil analysis you can go way longer especially with Amsoil because of the quality of the film strength and antioxidants in additive packages. For instance on my last car I did 50,000 Mi of City Driving in the transmission fluid was still good and that's equivalent to about 100,000 Mi of driving somewhere else because of the heat in Las Vegas. One thing to note is the more a transmission shifts the more clutch material comes off into the filter and that can also change the way it shifts so that's why I recommend so early even though the fluid will still be good the filter could be full of particles. I think it's really a per vehicle case thing and once you get used to that vehicle you'll know exactly when to change it. Slightly off topic. While I have a F-150 now with 5.0 and 10 speed auto and I just watched your video because it is closing in on 24,000 miles and i am getting ready to change the tranny fluid. I just wanted to mention that my 2 wheel drive 1982 Dodge Ramcharger with 498,000+ miles on it and auto trans with lockup torque converted is all original. I changed the trans fluid/filter myself ever 24,000 miles, but it sure was a whole lot faster and easier to do, and easier to check the fluid level when done. Changing all fluids does not cost us more money and instead it saves us more money on repairs.

@@Syntheticoilprotection I saw the Dif cover... we're talking trans pans and I don't believe Banks offers one for the F159 10~speed yet. But hopefully soon!
These Ford transmissions run so hot they destroy the oil so quick. My F150 was dark when i changed it. My Ram Cummins with a thermal bypass never passed 160 with 20k behind it and at 60k changes looks barely darker than new. I never done the bypass on the Ford but probably should have as it ran 205 empty just cruising on the highway.
Does GM transmission pan fit Ford transmission? Or are there aftermarket metal or aluminum cast tranny pans made for Ford? Metal pan with a drain plug would be also beneficial for better cooling.

The vibration of the transmission is different less vibration and the way it shift is different it has a different feel because of the film strength that's what the night and day difference is at a mechanical level and then it's felt in the way the car drives - ua-cam.com/video/8XO9pd0s5x8/v-deo.htmlsi=fMimGZDOOQhAYgPL
Good evening Blessings, question, you say that the transmission case cover is made of plastic, question is it made of metal and with a drain screw just like the engine oil pan?

Funny this video popped up I just changed transmission and transfer case fluid in my 2018 EcoBoost F-150 10-speed with Amsoil blue cap SS. I had a lazy 2nd gear shift. After putting amsoil in not even 40 miles later sloppy 2nd shift was cured!!! Also did my rear diff with amsoil and of course the motor always has Amsoil 5w30 in only thing i trust to protect the turbos!

Running that trans fluid to 212° is getting real close to thermal breakdown. I try to keep my 4l60e below 180. Ideally 160°. I run Amsoil and would never let it get that hot.
That’s whey they spec new fluid which doesn’t break down as the new trans runs hotter. Also this amsoil used in the video is NOT rated for the 10speed. Transmission won’t last.
My Gm version had dark fluid at 30k as well. Filter was dark, I will be doing this every 30k, these transmission are great, but they run hotter and hotter as the fluid collects debris and degrades. I was one of the guys who read the manual and acknowledged the no service transmission on my previous generation with the 6l80, on that truck the fluid with 220k miles on it was the same dark color of my 10 speed with only 30k on it. Things change and for whatever reason the 10l80 or ford version in my opinion should be serviced with fluid and filter at 30k the 60k, I am curious to see if the wear material becomes less or if these are just dirty transmissions.
Oh it'll definitely be less with the Amsoil less frictionless heatless wear 100% synthetic film strength. This is my car after about 40 plus thousand miles almost 50,000 of All City Driving in Las Vegas extremely hot temperatures - ua-cam.com/video/6YTRHJ_xmrs/v-deo.htmlsi=_NDIIQGQ8LM7VWrE
Love my six speed. Also put a pan with a drain on it at 30000 with a filter and fluid change. Changed the front diff oil at 30000 front and rear at 60000 along with Trans fluid drain and fill at 60000. I think I will stick to those mileage intervals. Dont for get Brake fluid at 60000 and coolant flush and fill.
Bought a used 2020 3.5 eco boost with 142,000 mi and no history to speak of. Thinking of draining the transmission and cleaning the filter before refilling with Amsoil. Should I flush first? The truck shifts well, although there is a whine on acceleration. Might be turbos?
Yes I would do all the fluids on it if it was my personal truck. Definitely going to save you in the long run and give you significant performance Improvement. Not sure exactly what the sound can be but I do have a really good video on cleaning the turbos here - ua-cam.com/video/n3jYQUhxYuE/v-deo.htmlsi=-GKbj7OXx5z_O9hP
@ thank you. My Ford dealer refused to exchange the ATF if the truck had more than 120,000 mi and no proof of a prior transmission service. Said to many issues
I would get extra just in case if someone spills fluid or something like that if you lose a quart you won't be closed always get extra you can always use more on your next round a few years from now as long as you keep the bottle sealed the transmission fluid will still be good. If I remember correctly with both the transfer case and the transmission it's getting close to 10 quarts so if it was me I would just buy a case and save the money one case of quarts is what I would do. The quart bottles will save you a couple bucks to instead of the easy pack I give a man a fishing pole & show him how to fish. Together! We can get your vehicles to run better than brand new! On RWD transmissions without a converter drain plug I loosen..but not remove, the valve body bolts until the converter charge passage is opened which at least allows a little over half the fluid in the converter to be drained. I also in some instances drill the converter and use a 1/8 inch pipe tap to allow a drain plug to be installed
I own a brand new 2024 (1000 miles) F150 3.5 eco and the transmission is “twitchy”. Can definitely feel shifts in low gears, low speeds. A buddy with a 2019 and 100K feels the same. Interestingly I can’t feel shifting while towing. I’m told that’s just the way the Ford 10 speed is. I’m inclined to drain and add Amsoil.
That sounds right. The transmission is tuned for towing. Also there could be a relearn on the transmission to change shift parameters. Also could be a programmer for the transmission that could change the shift feel. I'd definitely do the AMSOIL ATF if your going to keep the truck ☕️ For me to get credit & be "Your" Independent AMSOIL Dealer, please use my website below or my dealer no. 5331179 call anytime Eben Rockmaker 702-472-3614 After you click on: syntheticoilprotection.net 1. The 10 speed trans calls for ULV fluid and on that package, it only read LV fluid. Did I read that correctly? Is there an issue there. The transfer case on mine calls for Motorcraft transfer case fluid and specifically states to NOT use the transmission fluid. (Supposedly the transfer case fluid is the older ATF and is not compatible with the LV and ULV fluids) How does that align with what you did in this video?
Yes that is the same fluid for both on this particular component. Some years makes models can vary depending on the component. Also they can be changed mid model year. The bottle in the video is a older bottle. The new bottle has the updated specification which they update the technical bulletin on different Vehicles all the time. We mixed it with the old fluid inside the transmission there is two parts the pan fluid and the torque converter the torque converter you cannot get out without removing the return line on most transmissions and then you turn the vehicle on so the pump pumps it out we did a basic pan drop and that's where you change about 1/3 to half of the fluid. What are your thoughts on changing only oil. Ive heard some people say its not 100% necessary to change the filter. I have a 2018 f150 Coyote v8 and Ive heard its a pain removing the oil pan. Thank you
Great question it's always a good idea to change the filter if you can but you will see a huge Improvement just changing the ATF. If you can get the filter changed and clean the magnets it's another level of protection and preventive maintenance but definitely changing the fluid will make an improvement in the shifting and the lifespan of the transmission. Does the amsoil affect trans fluid temps? Once at 212* does it stay there long enough for you to get back under the truck and check it? If you have to add fluid does the temp drop back down.
Great questions here yes the 100% synthetic Amsoil ATF fluid will definitely help your transmission run cooler☕️👍 Not sure what you mean by getting underneath the truck the process is pretty straightforward just want to make sure you're at operating temperature so the transmission is not over full if you overfill it it will not shift right. Appreciate these videos. I just happened to start looking into transmission fluids for my Explorer. I was looking at doing it myself, but not now. I'll be going to have it professionally done by a transmission shop (not dealer). Only 34k miles, but that seems like it's more than enough. Much better to be a bit proactive. Probably going to do the transfer case as well...
That's awesome yeah the transfer case and the differentials are a drain and fill so takes basic tools and you can do in about an hour. The transmission would take someone inexperienced about 3 hours and 45 minutes. You can always take the fluids to your mechanic and have them install it and when you use my website that would connect me to you so I would be your independent Amsoil dealer😉☕️ Let's give a man a fishing pole & show him how to fish. Ive been doing some research on doing this to my 21 f150 3.5l. I seen on Facebook by 1320 synthetics they put all there fluid levels between the 2.5 and 3 mark but fors recommends between 5 and 6 so kinda lost on that one. Leaning twards ford i would think they would know how much to put in. Also got to the end of the video when they were test driving and they said it no longer moves when put into gear. I didnt know this was a thing and my truck lunches forward when put into gear
Yeah that's totally normal over time as the transmission shifts little particles fill up the filter once the filter gets more particles in it the fluid doesn't flow through at the same so you'll have a little bit of irregularity when you shift it from Park reverse drive also you'll notice the shifts can be intermittent and or delayed. Totally normal the best thing to do is just do a basic trans drop just like we did drop the pan clean the magnets change the filter and then put in a higher quality fluid Amsoil built a specific lubricant for this transmission for best performance this is the lubricant that I would run if I was doing regular driving - www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-signature-series-ulv-100-synthetic-automatic-transmission-fluid-ulv/?zo=5331179 If I was doing heavy heavy towing I would stay with the fuel efficient Signature Series ATF fluid.

Yes the standard fluid service is changing the pan fluid the rest of the fluid is in the torque converter and that stays there so we did a standard service. What I did on my personal car is I came back and did the pin drop after 5,000 miles change it a second time to have more fluid in there and get the clean magnets and filter - ua-cam.com/video/a_2UNq7FO1E/v-deo.htmlsi=i4GEW-l_7NQbH0uB
Ugh. My 25 year old Duramax has a drain plug and a spin on filter for the Allison. This is nuts just to change the fluid. I'd for sure pay to have that done by someone else. 😅

My 18 f150 was downshifting and up shifting hard, so I replaced the OEM fluid with Amsoil and the problem went away. Amazing product!👍. I put Amsoil in my differential and t-case.
I’ve let mine go for too long. I see that you hadn’t done a complete flush. I will be doing this repair with a filter BUT I would like as much flushed out as possible. Would you recommend that I replace the original trans pan with an aluminum pan with drain plug? Could I flush/ dilute by driving a couple hundred miles and then drain again after filling it the first time with Mercon? I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m trying to save money by not putting AmsOil in right away, rather just do on the last filling after I have changed it for the 2nd time (couple hundred miles of driving). Or do you have recommendations on DIY flushes? Thanks man!!

is 13 quarts the correct amount to order? Will that also cover the transfer case?

@deplorablelibertarian I respect that!

You can see right on the bottle (13:48) that the Amsoil might be a good alternative to the Mercon LV (so fine for the T-case), however there is not currently an Amsoil ATF spec'd to replace the Mercon ULV. They have very different viscosities:
Mercon ULV viscosity = 4.5cst @ 100C (19.2cst @40C)
Amsoil SS FE ATF = 6.3cst @ 100C (30.8cst @40C)
Simply put, you would have to run the Amsoil SS 15-20F hotter for the same viscosity at a given point that your ULV would supposedly be at.
The bottle you see on the video is an older bottle does not have the new label if you look at the new label it's on the newer bottles👌.
@@Syntheticoilprotection Thanks. I see there is a correct ULV made by Amsoil (green lid) with the required 4.5cst @100C Kinematic viscosity requirement for transmissions that require ULV fluid. I'll give it a try during my next transmission service.

Have you tried the AMSOIL Signature series motor oil?
The back of the Aims Oil bottle stated it was good for Ford Mercon* LV @13:57, but 307-01 Automatic Transmission manual calls for Mercon ULV (XT-12-QULV) and even warns against using anything else other than that. Even after looking at the technical data, how can it meet viscosity requirements needed for both the transfer case (LV) and transmission (ULV) at the same time? Will be interesting to see how it holds up past the 100k mark.

What type of vehicle do you drive the most
I just did this job today after 95,000 miles on factory fill.

I always take the fill ,dip stick plug out first. One to makes sure it will come out so it can be refilled after draining, and second , to be able to drain as much fluid out of the pan first so as not to spill the fluid while removing the pan.

This scares me. How can you trust someone to do it right? It's nothing I couldn't do, but it makes it harder with no lift. Great video TY
Nothing to be scared about if you have the proper tools it's pretty straightforward.
Most important thing is to not overfill the transmission.
Also you do not need a lift because the truck sits high enough.
It's just a little bit more comfortable to do it standing up☕️

I always like to say it's more about experience not so much about being Book Savvy if you work on these Transmissions every day you can totally trust someone to work on it if someone is not used to doing it they can make a small mistake and it could be over or under filled.
That's why I recommend being there when you have someone do it on your vehicle for instance if you are there and have a mobile mechanic come to you that way you can supervise the process
Great video your lucky you have someone that really knows his work. Very rare to find someone like him.

@@SyntheticoilprotectionToyota
@marksullivan3424 awesome yeah those ones are very sensitive I recommend changing the fluids a lot sooner on the Toyota definitely there's been some big changes with Toyota lately and have had seen a lot of breakdowns so I recommend changing all the fluids earlier than later☕️
Did the fluid change in my transfer case and 10R80 trans today. Amazing how much smoother the transmission shifts. Amsoil is no bullshit. The fluid that came out was nice and clean still but the performance with Amsoil is much improved.
Super sweet!!! Happy to hear..... thanks for letting the community know☕️☕️☕️
Did you use the signature amsoil ATF or the UlV amsoil ford recommends for the 10r80 transmission?
You can use either one they both meet the specification the new viscosity they came out with is a little bit thinner and will perform slightly differently however the thicker film strength will give a higher Shear stability under high heat.

@Syntheticoilprotection
Okay sounds good.
Which one would you recommend?
I'm in northern Canada, cold winters
My truck is a 2021 F150 3.0 diesel
Pretty sure that trans takes mercon ULV not the LV compliant fluid you used.
Good thing you have a competent transmission guy for this, looks like it would be very challenging for the DIY’er
Yeah it's definitely tougher to do it laying on the ground he can totally be done it's just a project and it's messy with the fluid if there's any wind the fluid will spray everywhere and definitely something to think about before diving head first into the process😄😉
I did my 6 speed ford on the ground. It was a PIA but it definitely can be done. Saved a bunch of money doing it myself too.
@flyer8493 you're an Iron Man♥️
That trans takes ULV ? Which is no available with amsoil
It does. I didn’t see on the Amsoil bottle where it showed ULV, on LV.
@@danbell6380 I can't find ULV anywhere in the tech sheets for amsoil??
@@Syntheticoilprotection I don't even see it here???
@bobatbilletcreations yeah there's a couple different transmission fluids the one that is ulv is called the Amsoil signature series transmission fluid multi-vehicle you will see a highlighted Blue Link that says see full technical data bulletin for details select that then you're going to find a PDF page you're going to have to read through it there's two different transmission fluids there there's a red one and a blue one the blue one has all the specs and then you'll see it in that listing.
What’s the best maintenance schedule? I see tons of schedules online that are drastically different.

Amsoil does not make the right viscosity made for that transmission. If I understand it correctly, it takes ULV fluid and amsoil is only LV

Running that trans fluid to 212° is getting real close to thermal breakdown.
I try to keep my 4l60e below 180. Ideally 160°. I run Amsoil and would never let it get that hot.
I don't understand your point?
Thats just how hot the new ford trans run. Nothing un normal about it.
That’s whey they spec new fluid which doesn’t break down as the new trans runs hotter. Also this amsoil used in the video is NOT rated for the 10speed. Transmission won’t last.
The fluid we use in the video is specifically Built For This specification💯👌

👍, what vehicle do you drive most?
Bought a used 2020 3.5 eco boost with 142,000 mi and no history to speak of. Thinking of draining the transmission and cleaning the filter before refilling with Amsoil. Should I flush first? The truck shifts well, although there is a whine on acceleration. Might be turbos?
Yes I would do all the fluids on it if it was my personal truck. Definitely going to save you in the long run and give you significant performance Improvement.

@ thank you. My Ford dealer refused to exchange the ATF if the truck had more than 120,000 mi and no proof of a prior transmission service. Said to many issues
@davidmartin7589 yes that's very common they want to make sure the component gets expired.
Then you would buy a new transmission😁😄
@@Syntheticoilprotection lol why doesn’t that surprise me
😁😄
You say this trans takes about 8 or 9 quarts of fluid. I'm trying to figure out how much to buy, I've seen online its capacity is 13.1 quarts.
The quart bottles will save you a couple bucks to instead of the easy pack

Great video
What a complex procedure for a fluid change
Yeah it's interesting some of them are so simple and then some are like walking a tightrope
I'd definitely do the AMSOIL ATF if your going to keep the truck ☕️

Question would you replace the plastic pan with Aluminum pan said to keep thee oil 8 Degrees cooler?
Yeah if I had a nice truck like that and I was going to take the transmission pan off because I was changing the fluid already I think I would definitely get an aftermarket pan that's better if I had the option yes that's what I would do
The 10 speed trans calls for ULV fluid and on that package, it only read LV fluid.
Did I read that correctly? Is there an issue there.
The transfer case on mine calls for Motorcraft transfer case fluid and specifically states to NOT use the transmission fluid.
(Supposedly the transfer case fluid is the older ATF and is not compatible with the LV and ULV fluids)
How does that align with what you did in this video?
Yes that is the same fluid for both on this particular component.
Some years makes models can vary depending on the component. Also they can be changed mid model year. The bottle in the video is a older bottle. The new bottle has the updated specification which they update the technical bulletin on different Vehicles all the time.

What did you do about the fluid remaining in the toeque converter?
We mixed it with the old fluid inside the transmission there is two parts the pan fluid and the torque converter the torque converter you cannot get out without removing the return line on most transmissions and then you turn the vehicle on so the pump pumps it out we did a basic pan drop and that's where you change about 1/3 to half of the fluid.

I’m about to change my trans pan… What’s stopping me from just drilling a big hole into the old plastic pan to drain it out in hopes of less mess? 🤔
Absolutely nothing if you have the appropriate Hardware I would do it correctly take the pan off put it in a vise and do it perfectly that's one option there may be a kit available to order that or there may be a replacement pan that can save you a lot of time so I would do a deep dive research first then if you can't find it then make it yourself😃☕️🇺🇸

Great questions here yes the 100% synthetic Amsoil ATF fluid will definitely help your transmission run cooler☕️👍
Not sure what you mean by getting underneath the truck the process is pretty straightforward just want to make sure you're at operating temperature so the transmission is not over full if you overfill it it will not shift right.
Amsoil came out with a specific product now specifically for these Transmissions you'll see it right here on my website on the lookup guide💯...

Totally normal the best thing to do is just do a basic trans drop just like we did drop the pan clean the magnets change the filter and then put in a higher quality fluid Amsoil built a specific lubricant for this transmission for best performance this is the lubricant that I would run if I was doing regular driving -

Yes the standard fluid service is changing the pan fluid the rest of the fluid is in the torque converter and that stays there so we did a standard service.

☕️☕️☕️, if it was my truck I'd get metal pan with drain. I'd get signature series ATF on my website & do a pan drop. Then come back in 5,000 miles & do it again. That's what I did to my car and it runs better than brand new.

What is your opinion on Honda transmission change? The general rule is to only use OEM Honda fluid.
