I traded him a heater for it under the condition he gets it running and driving. In one afternoon he fired it up by simply putting new gas in the tank and a little starting fluid. How many trucks made after 1990 could sit out in the rain in a muddy grass field for ten years and still fire up with a little starting fluid and new gas? None of them! Henry Ford had it right when he said that the three most important aspects of auto design is affordability, simplicity, and reliability. Now cars are expensive to buy, way WAY overly complicated, and expensive as all hell to maintain. And arguably less reliable.
Apple want to be involved in building accessories for car: entertainment, self-driving, on board computer, softwares. For them an electric car is just a platform to test their gadgets. The markup on gadgets is high, while the one on cars is low.
