Fishbone in their prime were like a freight train live, unbelievable energy. Angelo Moore came out and sang a heart-wrenching a capella song at the end, which is simply incredible seeing as he had been absolutely manic for two hours. Life changing stuff, 18 years ago and it seems like yesterday.
Saw these guys for the first time, original lineup, Dec. 2021. Every single band member played multiple instruments and harmonized. It was one of the best examples of musical showmanship I’ve ever experienced and I’ve been gigging and booking in San Francisco regularly since 1998. If you can, book Fishbone rt now because no one’s promised tomorrow and they are one of the greatest and most underrated pop/rock bands OF ALL TIME AND STILL GIG!

Saw them a week ago at the Hollywood palladium. I had no idea who they were before they took the stage, but goddamn they made a fan out of me. Their energy was absolutely incredible. I can't wait to listen to their catalog and catch them live again. :)

I so admire people who can dance like nobody's watching. These guys know the secrete. Despite all the negativity in this world, these guys refuse to let it crush their spirit. You got to love 'em for that. And in the process are raising the spirit of others.

But that just plays into the surprise: that rave-up, orgiastic ending that builds up throughout the song making it all the better. It's a hard task to find a song that starts out great and just keeps getting greater as in this amazing example. It's even harder to find a better song, period.

I got to see Fishbone live when we were both young-- and the lead singer, Angelo Moore, was so friendly. Coolest rock star I've ever met, ever. And I've met a few. He was just an interesting dude. They were also the tightest band I've ever heard - or maybe tied with a couple jazz bands. You couldn't get any tighter.
Even beyond rock stars, Angelo is one of the nicest people I've met in general. 100% agreed about the band, too. Though they did get some appreciation, Fishbone should have gotten far more recognition.
I'll tell you, I've seen them twice over the last two years, the most recent being about two months ago and the energy is still there. They still put on an absolutely amazing show.
