All right! Finally, a knife review that mentions Stephen segal! Im glad to see him getting the recognition, he deserves, for his years of contributing to cinematic culture. Thank you knife bro!
The name of your channel could not be more accurate or fitting. You truly are an advanced knife guy. SOOOO refreshing. I like the work of Shabazz and others solely for the amount of insight provided in a relatively short amount of time, without me having to sacrifice my time or money. But the format is SOOO dull and monotonous. I sincerely hope that your channel eventually cultivates a new crop of knife reviewers who don’t know the exact chromium or nitrogen composition of every blade steel ever made or compare the action of every knife they review to a Grismo Norseman or a Holts Specter, but who provide insight while also providing a “Keen” sense of humor and clear perspective into the world of knives and how truly ridiculous and comical it is. In short, I absolutely love the channel and hopefully you continue to do great reviews until the time comes when you can pass the torch down to another worthy reviewer. Thanks, and keep up the good work. PS- I will NEVER own a purple knife, if for no other reason than sheer spite. My Keen is currently in route...it is bronze.
Probably seen like 6 reviews in the past 10 days of this knife and still without surprise found yours both engaging and informative. P.s roasted kale and sea salt would round out those root vegetables. Love me some parsnips....
Refreshing to see a knife reviewer cutting stuff. Much respect to Ray Laconico and WE for delivering at this price point. Until Massdrop changes and/or removes their branding, my knife money goes elsewhere.
After a month of waiting for my Keen to ship from China I finally got my knife and enjoy it very much. Reminds me a little bit of a flipper version of a Sebenza.
Lol, good one man! I got a Massdrop Gent, it is very small, but good for when I travel out of the South and suddenly blades have to be shorter and non-assisted. Also, it is very light, titanium and G10!
I like that blade shape. I agree that a blade with good lines seems to cut better with normal tasks. Like food prep. That doesn't have thumb studs or a thumb hole either. Even better for food prep. Probably why you had so much food in this video. I know people like to be all "tactical". But I have three kids and use my knives for food prep, and cutting all kinds of packaging more than anything else. Good looking blade. Good review.
Though I'm not a fan of Spyderco's blurple, I do really like that Keen purple - handle knife. Love the shape, the FFG, and if by now it's in bigger production, I dont consider it that expensive for the quality, and the fit and finish that one gets. Shame it couldn't have been a wee bit smaller.
I appreciated the "Big Lebowski" reference, Mr. AdvancedKnifeBro. And since the knife is righty-carry only, I'm only interested in the dish you were preparing. What was it?
It was a root roast? I cut the stuff, up and my wife roasted it... seasoned it- it was pretty good. Just a mixture of carrots, onions, mushrooms, potatoes, turnips, and some bell pepper, then drizzled with some maple syrup, a touch of siricha, and a few other seasonings.
The rug ( handle ) really ties the room ( knife) together man . I hope you were making a big lebowksi refrence. Nice purple knife. Your honda break down 😁
I think Victorinox red is still my favorite color. Coincidentally, I was looking for a matching red flashlight when found your channel. That was long ago. Thumbs up for carrot battoning! Haha!! :-D
Think I'll pass on this one, but I'm still tempted to get a purple Spyderco of some kind. After I saw your video about the BLF Q8 a couple of weeks ago, I bought one from a seller who had them on sale for just $40. Even got the pink Samsung 30Q batteries like you suggested. It's already come in handy a few times around the house while we've been making some renovations. I just put it on the tripod and point it where we need it. Awesome and CRAZY bright. I actually shined it on the clouds a few nights ago during a low overcast.
You should check out the Ontario Carter Prime, I really think you would enjoy it. It has all your favorite knife features - high end text/lettering on the blade, a bitchin' hollow grind, and a fancy titanium pocket clip that may or may not keep the beast from going airborne at your local playground. Doesn't come in purple though, which may be a deal breaker for you...
Carrot batoning is still batoning. The l̶e̶f̶t̶y̶ mutant option is definitely tempting. As a l̶e̶f̶t̶y̶ mutant & fellow purple knife enthusiast, I've never owned a l̶e̶f̶t̶ mutant handed knife (excluding ambi lock designs). Alway carried right handed since my first knife with a clip wasn't drilled & tapped for l̶e̶f̶t̶y̶ mutant carry.
My favorite color knife is a blurple manix I have. I just got a Ganzo FH11. I know Ganzo is a hot topic but this is an awesome knife! Ball bearing washers and D2 steel (proven by potato paddy’s friend) you may want to check it out!
I have a Gerber Airlift gold knife I beat the shit out of it and battoning and took it all like nuthin. No lock failure at all. And I own a purple keen and bought one for my nephew. Beautiful knives.... for the kitchen only.
I imagine the carrot batoning was the ultimate Happy Ending for foodies; well done, sir. At the next drunken Karaoke party, I am for sure going to be belting out Purple Rain, except now it will be Purple Screws, sang incessantly until I am forcibly removed from the building. I would agree, that HEAdesigns Poison ties the room together, but the true test of a futuristic flipper is if it can withstand being micturated on by the Royal WE.
Whoops! Should have watched the full video before I commented. I chose the Laconico over the Headesigns antidote. I didn't feel like shelling out 280ish for a We knife.
Always had a feeling the old CR-V was mildly tactical, thanks for the confirmation. On another note, have you ever seen the Manly knives Peak (the one handed version, specifically)? Now maybe it's because I am a red-blooded man that drinks whisky and doesn't buy nearly enough deodorant, but it looks super appealing to me, kind of like something Spyderco would design in house, you know, good. Got a steel option between D2/CPM154 and S90V, and all are cheaper than a Delica for me plus it's a large-ish knife, so I thought hey, this is a pretty Advanced Knife Bro thing. Anyway, now that I sound like a brand rep for them, thanks for the video, really like your content.
Blade stock is on the thick side for what the knife is. 0.100 inches is plenty for an eyepiece of a gentleman's knife. At least is somewhat thin behind the edge but the wedging in the carrots was indicative about form before function. I like the color too. Botomline you saved the video with the carrots battoning. For a moment I was worried you left the true course of the real UA-cam knife reviewer.
Could I get some clarification on the car tacticality rating system? I drive an acura ILX white with tinted windows, feels sort of like driving a stormtrooper.

Once again taking knife reviewing to a level that other reviewers just cannot comprehend. The advancement of knifeness here is off the charts.
And now it's purple.
All right! Finally, a knife review that mentions Stephen segal! Im glad to see him getting the recognition, he deserves, for his years of contributing to cinematic culture. Thank you knife bro!
I honestly don't mind the Massdrop branding any more than most branding, but your critique of it is hilarious and on point.
you are the best reviewer of purple knives in the kitchen on UA-cam! I say that with all honesty and sincerity
The carrot batoning was pure genius and classic A.K.B.!
Not often do knife reviews make me laugh but here we are. Great review and great content man!
Thanks man!
Damn, quickly becoming one of my favorite reviewers. The sarcasm and descriptions are spot on.
Carrot batoning is still batoning, so way up.
Did you hear that @beefysuperdude ??

The chuckle caused by "taking a mass drop in my massdrops" caught me totally off guard. Well played you bastard.

@@AdvancedKnifeBro Agreed. Would think most average knife bros would pay a few extra bucks for a version without the billboarding.

Thank you!
Dude your reviews never fail to make me laugh 😂 your sarcasm is the best 😂😂 that looks like a sweet knife!
Thanks man!
I'd buy massdrop undies, I just don't have three months to wait to replace these ones I'm wearing with holes in them.
First time I’ve heard an intelligent explanation of the tactical measurement formula. Beard and UA, it’s so simple!
That shirt has to be tight though.
Its sooo Purpley!!
The bit about the tactical CR-V had me rolling! Great review!
Most advanced review of the keen yet
My man!
I just got the massdrop keen and massdrop crux and I absolutely love em both they came in great packaging and great pouches with micro cloth
This was the best knife review I've ever watched
This is possibly my favorite of your knife videos.

I just ordered the protech strider pt. Looked cool.
Thanks for composting!

Advanced Knife Bro ohhh no no no knife bro this knife gave me a boner I just didn’t know if it was worth it or not

I guess not. I just bought mine a few weeks ago. They're currently in stock.

I call my favorites, one's I regularly carry... I have reviewed many other blades, but these are the ones out of this years I continually revisit.
Good review, good fun. Thanks
Sure is a nice shade of purple. Are those turnips you're cutting up?
Ah but how would a dlc coated titanium version of the Honda Odyssey compare to a stonewashed CRV?
What color DLC?
Black of course. Just rename it the Honda Death on Contact. Car makers could learn a thing or two from knife companies.
I'd probably buy one if they made it in "AKB Review Line Blue".
I like this
Could be that the blade went off-center ‘cause of a MASSDROP. In the update, can WE see the veggies, roasted and plated?
Do you squint one eye. What?
Good rendition of Edward scissor hand
What kind of packaging did it come in?
White box, then the knife was in a zippered pouch inside that.
Love your videos!
Watching this amazing vid, all the while massdropping. Had to be said. 🤘🏽
Z T doing the same. NO RAGRETS.
My purple Keen came on Saturday, but it's for "Christmas" so I have to wait to see it 😒
