I have finally learned to crochet thanks to you Katia. I'm 57 and despite being a knitter for many, many years the art of crochet has eluded me until now. Thank you so much. I have completed this blanket and I am so happy with it. Your explanations are so clear and your patience is just wonderful. ❤
Thank you for your comment!! It means a lot to me! I’m glad that I was able to help you finish your blanket and get back into crocheting. You have no idea how grateful I am for your kind words 😊💖💖
Thank you very much for sharing and teaching this beautiful baby blanket. I am 90 yrs old and looking for knitting blanket for my great grand daughter. We are eagerly expecting her in 2 months...by God's grace I think I can take it with me when I visit her..please prey for me to fulfil my wishes
Aww you are so welcome!!! I’m sure you will be able to finish this blanket for your great grand daughter and she will love it!! I will for sure!! Let us know how it goes please 😊💝💝
So simple, yet so elegant - and you can make it any size you like (by just adding rounds). Thank you so much - your instruction was very clear and easy to follow! ❤
This looks like it’s going to be a new favorite pattern 🩷 See that some ppl would like a printed copy of this pattern. Myself often I like the cc as I’m hearing and watch the video as I’m getting started. Ty
Hi Robin, I just wanted to let you know that I just posted a video tutorial for the shawl. I hope you like it! The link to the video is ua-cam.com/video/Nrxb8JrpEso/v-deo.html
I came to UA-cam today looking for a baby blanket. Yours is beautiful! Thank you so much for including hook and yarn sizes! Buying my yarn tomorrow, can’t wait to start! ❤
Thanks so much for this video tutorial! Am going to make a Christening blanket for my daughter who is due in the New Year. Using very thin yarn so got plenty of time haha!
Hi Katia, thank you for the pattern. I started the baby blanket but it has come out very wavy so far. I tried to follow your pattern. I am not sure where my mistake is. I would appreciate your advice!
Hi Ermira. If your blanket is coming out wavy, I think you are adding too many V stitches. Remember only add 2 V stitches in the corners and in between corners, you should only add one. As you add more rounds, the V stitches will grow by one more each side but corners will stay the same. I hope this helps!! 😊💕💕
I love this pattern! Perfect explanation and easy to follow, I was wondering how do you count your rows, I know you said you made your blanket 38 rows but do you count the she’ll rows or the v stitches included lol 😂 I have 18 shell rows so far and am not sure how much more I have to go, I wanted to make it to the size you did just wasn’t sure. Thanks!
@@KatiaCreatesit does! I’ve done just a bit more than 38 now 😅 it’ll just be a slightly larger baby blanket lol, I was also wondering is this blanket pattern specifically best with or without a border added? I’m making it as a gift for a friend and just wondered what would look best? 🤔
I am working on this right now and it is such a beautiful pattern!! Just curious- is there any way to stop making it wider and start working in rows instead of rounds for a long skinnier blanket?
Just started this pattern. It took me a while to get the corners and the beginning of the new round but so far I’m doing very well but I would like to put a different color on the edging or call it the trim does anyone have a good trim for this blanket
I’m glad it’s working out. I would use a different color for the last rows. It’s hard to work a trim on this pattern but maybe someone has a better idea. 🤗💕💕
Hello, I need your help please. First, I love, love, love this blanket! I am a beginner and want so badly to make this blanket. I am having trouble understanding how to complete row one. You said to go into the third chain. The video didn't capture it very well and also your yarn frayed when you went into it. I couldn't really see or tell where you went to close the row off. Would you be so kind as to showing me that step again? I just don't want to get twenty rows in and my blanket is all wonky. Thank you in advance! I am making this for a friend who is having her first baby!
Hi Teresa! Thank you! To answer your question, when you start crocheting in the beginning, you chain 4. You can count the chains as you crochet and add a stitch marker to the third chain. When you end round 1, chain 1 and work 1 single crochet using the third chain that you added the stitch marker. I have a video tutorial on my channel - Crochet Top Tutorial and in this video I use a different yarn but it is the same pattern as the blanket. Maybe it will be easier for you to see. Also, you can slow down the video in the setting and zoom in. Good luck to you! I feel like you can totally crochet this blanket. I hope this helps and if not let me know and I will try to film a short showing you the steps again.💗💗💗

I think you are adding too many V stitches. Remember corners are worked with V stitch, chain 2 and another V stitch. You will need a total of 4 like this. In between the corners ONLY add 1 V stitch in the Single crochets from previous round with a chain 5. I hope this helps 🤗💖

Tunisian style
Not yet but maybe in the future. Great idea 😊💕💕

How many inches is good for a baby blanket
30-34 inches. It all depends on how much yarn you have. I hope this helps 🤗💕💕
I'm on round 8 so its still very small but my edges are very ruffly. Is that normal? Will it smooth out flat as it gets bigger?
It shouldn’t be ruffly. For round 8, you should have 4 sets of 7 double crochets on each side of the blanket. I hope this helps. 😊💕💕
