he's a great example of how subjective and weird alignment can be, and multiple people can disagree while all being correct. I see the argument for him being CN as much as I see one for him being CE

Totally right! I always put that little disclaimer "This is subjective" and I try to include choices saying "If you said it was this...I wouldn't disagree" implying that I am definitely not the end all be all.

The Lady Death would've been interesting, and they even had a moment they could've easily set it up. When Wade "dies" and goes to Vanessa in the afterlife, when she reaches across the barrier that was stopping Wade from moving on, her arm should've turned into a skeleton's arm implying it's really Death. This would've worked especially considering when Wade goes through the barrier, he looks like he did before the Weapon X program.

He's still Chaotic Neutral because he routinely does evil shit as well. Yes, even in the movies. "Chaotic Good most of the time but does Evil semi-regularly" is still Chaotic Neutral. Whether he does Good or Evil actions varies based on how it benefits him, how he's feeling at the time, and which side he thinks has the most to offer or deserves to get fucked with the most. That is textbook Chaotic Neutral. Even if he leans towards Good more than Evil the fact that he's not opposed to doing Evil acts when it suits him means he *cannot* be Chaotic Good.

I actually think it all depends on the writer/story/day of the week, sometimes he's chaotic neutral, sometimes even, fairly often he's straight up good aligned. I think this is why i'd argue he ultimately lines up as Chaotic Neutral. Because he so often flip flops between the two extremes. It's just rather than being a consistent Chaotic Neutral his alignment shifts alot thru the three chaotic alignments with rampant abandon as different aspects of his shattered mind take center stage, making him extreamly unpredictable. What's interesting about Deadpool is that he is one of the few morally ambiguous characters I actually like, not because he is "Huhu funny man", but because he's a tragic clown, a man who sometimes desperately wan't to do good, but is ultimately overcome and possessed by impulse, he's morally ambiguous done right in this regard, he isn't trying to pretend his evil acts are just, like so many other morally grey characters he's a man who is unable to control his impulse, except he and his writers know it.

Minor personal differences in opinion, I would have started him fully chaotic neutral at the beginning of his story. And the scene where he is waiting to die in prison I would call lawful neutral rather than chaotic neutral as he is not intentionally stirring up any trouble and is simply keeping his head down and following rules.

  • @chuckhoyle1211

I disagree on the starting alignment. I would argue he is Chaotic Good who is trying really really hard to come off as Chaotic Neutral. Why? He does not kill anyone, he donates his contract payment to charity, he could have killed his contract but chooses not to, he walked away from an underage girl who tries to flirt with him, and his deep past is alluded to later in the movie that he was special forces and seemed to get along with his squad mates. I don't see any evil there and I see a lot of good there.

I agree with a lot of people saying a lot of the "Chaotic Neutral" moments should have been some type of Evil, but all that really changes in the final alignment is how far over the line between "Neutral Good" and "Chaotic Good" he is, he still rides that line, though.

I agree with the original rating and the final designation of chaotic good, but I think Wade deserves a slightly more evil score. While the prisoner transport fight was necessary due to Cable’s arrival I don’t think DP knew he’d attack the transport in the middle of the city and deserves some evil points. The highway fight in the first movie was, I believe, was an act of neutral evil. He CHOSE to have a big ol’ punch/shoot-em-up on a highway in daytime, where and when there’s sure to be many drivers. I mean, legally speaking, if a non-combatant bystander died it’d absolutely count as depraved indifference murder. His actions in that fight cuts (literally) against the morality behind depraved-heart laws, he even took actions in order to ENSURE crashes. Furthermore, I personally always consider torture to be an evil act. Not that good characters/people can’t or even shouldn’t commit evil acts in the name of good causes, but I still consider it to be inflicting unnecessary pain on another person to further your goals.
On a side note: Why no good points for National Woman’s day? Submitting to a pegging for your girlfriend, especially since he CLEARLY wasn’t enjoying it, is the APOTHEOSIS of generous love. GIVE THAT MAN AT LEAST 5 POINTS!!!
