On the second thing, it's all about the right tools for the right job. I keep those junk tools around in case I need to bore out a small hole. I feel like the debuff part is unnecessary.
Clearing claims with flammenpanzer should be quite easy, just remove all boosters, clear Tier 1, add one - clear Tier 2, add both - clear Tier 3. Just activate some engineering logic ;-)

Hint for the relic at Cinder Footing. It's impossible to get until you get Tier 3 stuff. That should narrow it down for you as to where you should be looking for that particular one. I haven't found the others, but that one, I've found twice. Once in an experimental creative game and then going back in my normal game after getting tier 3 stuff. It's about in the same place and that one isn't something Tier 1 or 2 can get. (And yes, I know you have Tier 3 stuff. I'm just saying that to give you an idea as to where it is rather that outright telling you the answer.) The heavy machines are a bit of a pain to get any where. They definitely force you from tunnel mining (which we all do) to open pit mining, which is a bit more of a challenge. If anyone's really wondering what the difference is between the normal harvesters and drills vs the heavy ones (and I'm only sharing because this is after RCE has already got them) is that normal drills and harvester can process ice from every tier, but they require an ice melter to utilize conveyors and drills create 1 ice stone or ice block every 1-2 seconds (whatever their rate is.) Heavy drills get a "burst fire" where they'll drill for about 8-12 seconds (again I don't know the exact duration) where they'll dump a lot more ice out of them. They'll then stop, rotate to the next of their 3 drills on them, and then repeat. So it's more of you get stuff in bursts rather than a steady stream and you can create a steady stream with more of them filled with more stuff with fewer heavy drills in comparison to how many normal drills it'd take to get a similar result. The Heavy Harvester takes the harvester and the ice melter and merges them into the same oversized machine. Ice blocks that go into it both create water and also will generate a small amount of resources and ice stone will get processed normally. I believe the only other benefit from the normal variants is that when you add pressure boosters on the lava intake, that will ultimately also boost the heavy machines performances. But beyond that, you can (for all reasonable intents and purposes) complete the DLC without having to get the heavy machines. If any thing, and I do mean anything on the crane end up flopping over into an impossible to maneuver position, just hit F to retract the crane and the game will force whatever's on the end of the crane to comply. I've had forge marks fall under the ground after connecting to them. F will rip them up out and get them to a "normal" state.
I don't have the dlc so I'm not sure if volcano island also has the rake tool, but the rake tool can massively cut down on the time it takes to clear more land with tools, versus pick alone. If you use your pick to clear out a decent hole of ground in one cubic unit of ground (can dig through many cubes at a time to reduce tool swapping) then use the rake to 'flatten' the wall of a block adjacent to the one you are trying to clear. The result will completely annihilate the ground in the cube 'above' the surface you flatten

I'm fairly certain that the mega drills and mega harvester are intended to be used in new systems and not just tacked onto your existing system. i.e. the 5 other claims you have yet to max out. plop the harvester in the middle of a new system and that creates the water from the drills for an isolated loop. you had a single drill hooked up to it so it wasn't producing enough water
I think you're gonna find, like in the base game, that the big nuggets produced by higher tier drills, require a higher tier harvester to digest them. Otherwise they'll just pile up on top of the smaller harvester and block it. So there's more fun.
You could make holes and let them sink down on postition basically just as many vertical holes as needed. You can mark positions using dripping lava to have a nice grid.
Can the flamethrower be used while it's hooked onto the crane? It kind of seems like you can at least get into it. If it works the way I hope it works, maybe you can hook the flamethrower onto the crane, reverse the crane into the claim, get into the flamethrower and melt the snow on all three height settings while it's still hooked on, then get back into the crane and back it up again and repeat the melting process.
Can you take the power up things off the flamethrower? Then you can only dig one level at a time, which might make it easier to clear out an area without falling through
I think the Heavy Harvester could've been continuously working if you had simply flipped the conveyors around, so the other drills would send water into it.
Oh I thought the Jurassic park references were going to catch out gen z but now you've got only fools and horses references in there. Now you are referencing an episode of it that came out when I was 4 and I'm 38.
Or get an extra one to keep up there. It's kind of like having an extra pan to move multiple things with: something so simple you'd think an architect like Matt would think of it.
Only way to really do it cleanly is using a combo of Pick/Rake to go down 1 level then use the roller to clean up just that one level. Pick/Rake to go down another level, then roller to clean up that level. The mole/flamethrower don't stay level and can't be trusted. If you are trying to bypass everything on the way down to a specific level, then the flamethrower w/ the right booster on the back is the best/fastest way.. but you'll never get that mess you left behind cleaned up with machines ever again. It's explosives and picks from then on.
That's only if you are trying to clear out the claim entirely. If you're trying to find relics, it's actually much faster to take off the booster tanks and dig exploratory tunnels at T1, put a booster on, go to T2, repeat, then again for T3. From there, you take a pickaxe to the base of a tunnel 'wall', crouch into it and your head clips through the ground and you get XRay-vision of the surrounding area. When I did it that way, I got all the relics in maybe 3 hours, and it has the bonus side effect of being able to use the prospector helmet of finding all the ore veins in each claim to see if one of them is really good or not. The exploratory tunnels are also perfectly flat, because the ground below them is the next tier of ice, which the thaw cannot dig through because we're using the thaw explicitly without the tanks needed for that tier.
Build a sorter that sends ise to the melter and everything else to a parking spot that can drop ingots from the bottom of the dig site into the back of your truck. It'll cut down on trips up and down.
For your heavy devices you could have saved so much time and had premade holes made to drop them down so you wouldn't of had to drive the crane down underground.
Some claims give more resources than others, some are high in cloutium, some corestone, some ... you get the picture. They want you expanding to all the claims on this one
Yes, you can. Set them up to the side of the filters, run a conveyer belt underneath, and then you can just drop toolboxes on the belt to reload the spanner throwers. Make the belt into a loop, the load it up and you can go a long time without needing to pay attention to it.

Do the veins helmet only show gold or does he need to take the fire drill and hollow out each tier to see what else is there? Maybe a greater deposit of cloutium or however it's spelled. Edit: Oh, he mentioned it.
it shows all possible veins but you need to dig them out to actually see them. its pretty uselss as the range is soo small that you already dig into it with the melter before it turns on
@@Zanta100 Not to mention having iron and gold veins in this game is just getting in the way of detecting potentially useful veins, so strip mining is better in all respects really, and if you have the tokens for the helmets, you might as well use them to buy the flame tank

"There's nothing wrong!" - ItchyBeard
I've invented new swear words playing this game.
Lets goo new vid i was working out on the time of upload so i could only catch it now
I really enjoy watching these. You have to suffer the grind so I don't have to 😂 Sorry, mate, but you're a public servant and thank you
What grind? He is cheating anyway.
I was having a really bad day today your video cheered me up
I didn't use any nukes! I did all by hand :( (shows nukes accidentally) 18:41 left side. Just kinda funny ig
Make a super bridge going straight up the side of the mountain
Some claims give more resources than others, some are high in cloutium, some corestone, some ... you get the picture.
They want you expanding to all the claims on this one
MATT! I have an idea for you, can you auto refill the auto spanners?
Yes, you can. Set them up to the side of the filters, run a conveyer belt underneath, and then you can just drop toolboxes on the belt to reload the spanner throwers. Make the belt into a loop, the load it up and you can go a long time without needing to pay attention to it.
Oh, this game needs hirable logistics NPC's or some kind of quality of life feature XD
Your flames can go up but if you miss some and can't reach them with the flamethrowers try using nukes on top of the floating dirt
Do you like 'Foo Fighters - Wheels' "Story Time With" Mattuw... If so and this is to not the invisible person who kicks black labradour plushies after being barked at. Understand Matt impatientness is a bleed through, some have spent a long time training so the grind of looking at a bright screen can get a bit weary, probably best you invest in one of those old office screen eye protectors. The one thing about them is they forget what it was to be alive and to be fair you've had a few in game genocides so think long term and if your house guard doesn't stop fkn around with the camera angle I can get to him too.
thanks for adding warnings this time
If you see this a tip you can put 4 filters on 1 pipe instead of 1 per pipe
11:18 I saw the last bone!
Nope you didn’t 😂
You're an engineers, you do calculus and multiplication.
Counting, addition and subtraction is for the plebs.
Hey dude, me and my family love your channel.
You make us laugh and we love RCE propaganda!
Me and my parents find you really funny. Been watching your channel for a while now.
Even the knobs? 😐
Thought of building the lave filters in an alternating/logic circuit style?
If you're done with this, please do more timberborn!
Yeah, I don't know what the big harvester is for either - it says the yield is better, but unless the dev clarifies what that means, then it's just a waste of effort
the only thing it does is save you from sorting out snow for the water system but at the point where you can realisticaly afford it you already have a sorting system anyway
same for the big drill
at the time you can really use it you need to dig out the whole claim
Hydroneer: it's just a waste of effort (but kinda fun)
@@NETBotic all games are a waste of effort, it's more that this particular waste of effort doesn't seem to do the, admittedly pointless, thing it claims to do :P
@@Zanta100 I wonder if the intent is you are suppose to use them to improve returns on the upper tiers of a claim rather than trying to get them to the bottom?
The better yield part is that when it turns ice into water it also spits out resources for that ice instead of just turning it into water
Maybe dig a hole straight down to lower it from the surface.
Place the flame tank on the crane move to position climb in flame away what you can then move the crane. Rinse and repeat
Do you think that you can bring money back and forth between volcalidus and the starter island?
Apparently this video has no views so I'm doing my service and helping RCE earn his real life billions! Think of me when you're dining with musk and bezos
Hi ♥️♥️♥️
Think you need a layer of darker snow under your drills at T3
Do more penguinz
Get the claim destroyer pickaxe from the old pickaxe upgrade mod
Yeah, thats definitly how cranes are supposed to lower stuff into a hole...
rce the new harvester put it up top and move all the production up top. replace the ice melter with it and make all the resources from everywhere feed into it
MATT! Construction hammer!
Build a mega super uber bridge from snow?🙏
Build an auto filler conveyor for the repair spanners.
i love that everytime you play this you say exactlly things of why I hate it. The game is just missing a few QoL additions, like an inventory, that would make it so much better.
9 months later, a cranethrower is born
