@@SmallSailboatCruisinga good trailer setup insures that nothing ‘settles in.’ With the boat loaded onto its transport birth it should be resting comfortably on all its bunk, pad, and roller contact points with equal pressure. Whether from a dealer or who knows who, so many sailboats and powerboats require straps to cinch everything tight to the trailer. This makes me cringe because that is squeezing the boat into being part of the ‘structure’ of the trailer and the poor hull absorbs so much of the road forces. And these also can make the boat or its tackle migrate a bit. The straps on a properly set up trailer merely hold the boat where it naturally rests- where it belongs- on the trailer. Much easier on the boat, plus it will be much more pleasant to load up because the hull will wind up where it sits and fits more nicely.
Good tips and a nice set up. I always drive to a layby 1/2 mile from my home and check on things as well. Look forward to the sail. Atb.
That is something I should have included. Things often settle in and need tweaking.
@@SmallSailboatCruising Exactly. It is worth finding a safe spot to check all round after setting off both ways.
+Dale Skidmore definitely agree
Well spoken
Always a subject we should be concerned about.
Nice video
Thanks glad you liked it.
MAGIC
Thanks
It is still working perfectly after 6 months of testing it all out. So easy to launch now.
great practical tips. thanks!
+Daniel Smith glad you appreciate it.
The winch strap should not be as tight as that. Your aft strap should hold the boat down and slighty forward
You are probably right.
i can see already that i havent been securing my boat properly!
+Daniel Smith it took me a couple of failures to work it out. The last few trips nothing has worked loose over long distances.
