My first time here I was completely lost on where to go. Explored Yahar'gul more thoroughly after Rom, found a key, and got excited. Thought back to where I saw a locked door at after reading the flavortext, then happily trotted my way up Oedon Chapel thinking I finally made progress.
This was the first time in a long time I felt I found a place I genuinely should not have discovered, and it just got worse from there.

This area reminds me of the Prison of Hope from Demon’s Souls in a lot of ways. Long cramped corridors patrolled by tentacled abominations with lethal grab attacks. Not to mention that both areas are the scariest locations in their respective games by a significant margin.
