What do you think/advise on protein bars such as Grenade bars or Sci bars. I’ve been taking a half bar daily as a treat. I thought maybe these were better and low sugar in comparison to cereal bars?
Low fat content can often = higher sugar content. Its a constant battle, I think lower sugar consumption is healthier than low fat options, this is my personal opinion as there is a history of diabetes in my family. Doesn't high insulin have a connection to body fat storage, I'm not an expert but Im sure there is something to this. Apparently any item that has more than 4 grams of sugar in it is detrimental to health. When you start to notice the sugar content in things its mind blowing. I guess if you take fat out the flavour has to come from somewhere. x
Nikki do you think it would be ok to blend up some of my slimming world dinner recipes that i make for my seven month old baby. Just wasnt sure cos slimming world uses all the low fat stuff x
+Leanne Gilbert loads of them are totally suitable, if you're worried about the lack of fat you can always add something, but the majority are normal healthy meals xx
Only 7 syns, which I think is fab as they are so filling and have no added sweetener in. I used to freak out a bit about spending syns on something like this, but common sense kicked in and they aren't actually high in calories so I've been happily munching away on them! Xxx

+Angelia CG I love grenade bars, I've had them for a long time now. They are lower than a lot of cereal bars and higher protein too.
