    Looks like a lot of fun. I live on Lake Norman, near Charlotte, NC. It's a large lake but there's no powerboat racing. I'm sort of surprised that the NASCAR folks haven't tried getting it started here, but I'm sure it's harder to profit from since there isn't a track & grandstands to generate ticket sales.
    I've also discovered the inflatable tunnel hulls, called Thunder Cats, here on UA-cam. They don't seem to race them here in the states, but it looks like an inexpensive & exciting form of boat racing. The courses are along the beach, so they crash & jump through the surf.
    Thanks for sharing your boat with us. :)

      Our powerboat racing facility is a race track in Springfield OH. Feel free to visit www.championsparklake.com This year Aug 6-8 we'll be running the National Championships. $15 admission. We have camping and tailgating available. One your neighbors Steve DeSouza used to race tunnel boats and Greg Foster maintains his race boats out of NC.

    Isnt it like an elevator on an airplane, not ailerons?

    Amazing boats! The high of the engine/prop can be adjusted when runing or is adjusted before the race?

    I’d be interested in you discussing the center pod. I know in the consumer market there is debate on having it or not.

      Are you referring to the driver capsule and the crash boxes? I know in the UIM they require additional padding or crash boxes around the sides of the capsules. Hoffman Race boats are looking to do a 10K Newton strength capsule instead of the crash boxes

      @@kevinclark9176 the center pod, generally in what I know as a "Mod-Vp" tunnel Hull, is extremely effective for carrying varying amounts of weight without causing the hull to be "stuck" to the water..
      Basically true tunnel Hull boats are very weight sensitive where as the Mod-Vp tunnel with the center pod is far better suited to different loads like any runabout, performance and just the regular ole slow one's, constantly see..

    Classy looking hull , would make a super semi scale RC racer. Any chance of length and width, i could scale the rest off video ? Regards Paul

    • @championsparklake1442
      @championsparklake1442  3 місяці тому

      Length is around 17ft and width is less than 7 ft. Some folks have some CAD drawings of the boat that you could probably work off of.

      @@championsparklake1442 ironclad rc has been running an old F1 rc boat on his channel this week , its nothing short of a work of art , and has a trick cam type out drive that puts the bow down in the corners . Mind blowing for a model.I would love to bring that level to one of my models as retirement is looming, any help with drawings would push me to next level. Regards Paul Baxter

    Where is this "aileron" you speak of? And how is it controlled? I ask because I am restoring a 1971 Magnum Missile tunnel hull boat, and I've always wondered about putting flight controls on it.

      I think he is confusing aileron with elevator of a plane, as in the trim of the motor acting like an elevator.

      @@mjodr Yes, he's thinking of elevator, not aileron. An aircraft's ailerons control roll, not pitch.

      Things are going well in the States. We have a new permanent Powerboat Racing facility known as Champions Park Lake. We run several races a year there, which is where we filmed this.
