- Sumi Gaeshi is the best sacrifice throw you can do in judo! It has so many elements to it that work in Tori's favor. From being able to score with it, getting out of danger, transitioning into newaza.

Gotta love how Travis redoes the video from scratch every time something that wasn't ''in the script'' happens, but then when it's time to edit he's like ''nah, ill just upload it like it is''.
This was hilarious haha
I respect and find it funny as hell. Great video!
Pay attention! You are suppose to stab me like this! Best Jim Carrie on SNL.
Hahahahaha!
in living color!
@@cheyennemeredith2961 yeah
Really cool way of doing the Sumi Gaeshi, Travis, and I love the fact that it's even got a built-in forward throw fake! :)
Thanks Tran!
I really enjoy your breakdown and the great details. Thank you for sharing your extensive experience and success!
this video really really helped me in compititions thx so muchhh
Love it , really great set up
Glad you like it!
That was slick!
Great set up. Thanks
Rare Ryan talking moment
love it. really useful. thank you.
You're welcome!
Love your vids coach
Would it be possible if you could show the technique right at the start of the vid and break it down and show the technique from different angles again?
And the same technique for a right handed opponent if possible? Right vs right type scenario unless this is specifically for a lefty opponent? Just some suggestions from a lazy viewer.
To me, Judo makes , and Mr. Stevens is so good at this, you have quick hands, like when Shintaro made his first attempt at his left hand grip, Mr. Stevens so calmly and immediately caught it and parried it down, ... sacrifice throws are so much fun, thanks for sharing this one Mr. Stevens
great stuff!
That's when you do a Te Gatame. That's my trick. :)
Solo puedo decir que es maravilloso.
This has become my takedown I use in BJJ, since people love to single leg me. I will admit during randori though when I feel stuck I just try to establish grips for a sumi gaeshi, as a white belt I probably shouldn’t be using sutemi-waza so much.
Love it.
thats super helpfull content. could there be ( or is there) a video from defense to attacking transition. like working against a strong kumi kata or a throw entrance from the opponent to get in a dominant or better throwing position to throw?
hope the question is not too confusing.
merry christmas and stay safe
thx mate
Love it!
Awesome!
this is cool
That is nice,.
You know your Judo, but boy do you need to learn how to treat people.
Pay attention 😭😭🤣🤣🤣
🤯
Thanks 👍
Uke abuse!
Damn
I could feel the awkward vibes right thru the screen. Jeez…
Couldnt you just go soto makikomi?
Travis. Challenge Chael Sonnen in a grappling Match and shut his mouth! Please!!!!!
He needs to learn to edit the video
Im not subscribed, and I dont know why? 😤
I think it's time to give your student a black belt. He's defended you very well in alot of throws.
looks like a lateral drop
I can see that.
boring
