- If you're not too good at stand up but don't want to pull guard this is the best option to sit back and sweep right into a top position. The Cross Sleeve grip here makes it almost impossible to stop unless your opponent has cat-like reflexes.
Enjoy!

Leaving in the corrections is genius. Good technique amazing instruction.
I really like the cross step to make your opponent step forward. I'm going to try it with other takedowns and throws, as well as the one you showed in the video!
GREAT WORK KEENAN YOUR THE MAN
Basic simple setup. Thx
Very good video.
Seems like a really nice laid back dojo.
when the mats open here in the UK I will be using this !
Just move in to gym with all your buddies
Mats are open when you want them to be
Yep used it all the time
6:10 tomoe nagi
is this similar to what Gustavo Batista does?
It is really like you are pulling guard.
But the focus is on getting the sweep before you even finish the guard pull.
Keenan sounding out of breath lately lol
why cant you fall to your left? why straight back
Leverage
Off-balancing by using your own weight to pull forward and let them almost fall forward. Otherwise they will stay straight and strong and won't go anywhere.
Is there a name for this throw?
It’s just a tomoe nage variation
Sacrifice hiza guruma or knee wheel. First time I am seeing it. Very cool.
yoko tomoe nage?
yet again, this is something else, Hal
Hiza Guruma !
Exactly, but the sacrifice makes it easier to do the kuzushi, I think. I was taught that hiza is when you do it on the far leg and that this cross step is a great setup. I have also seen a sasae with a sacrifice as a variation of uki waza for jiu-jitsu. I have also seen this as a sweep when the opponent is on his knees. But I have never seen it this way as a sacrifice hiza guruma. Can't wait to try it.
Why not sumi gaeshi?
because this is something else, professor
Because this is done when he is somewhat far and keeping his distance, and you can't get close and break his stance and at the same time go underneath him. So, instead of going underneath and sweeping him over you, you focus on floating him on his leg and pushing it back and getting him to roll like a log to the side. It is good to know many variations, so when one does not feel right to do at this moment, you go for another that feels more appropriate.
