I was surprised to see the wax was ever placed in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION of the hair growth. In school we were always taught to apply wax WITH HAIR GROWTH and to remove AGAINST HAIR GROWTH.
Absolutely! That's how all first strips are done in this video, and once the initial strip is pulled you can then lay it the opposite way to pick up any tiny hairs left behind.

I have my first full face wax booked in a couple days, you said it’s best to go against hair growth for top lip bc it’s different? I’ve learned the upper lip is stubborn lol, any tips are appreciated!

when doing a full face do some people do the nose? i have a lot of nose hairs on top and inside my nose..
Some people do inside the nose but I honestly reccomend against this as an aesthetician. Wax is meant for the skin and not the mucous membranes and you have hair inside your nose to keep the boogers in. If you have long nose hairs, trimmers are a better option. If someone insists even after I give them my speech about why they should not do it, I'll wax out their inner nose hairs but I really try to keep the wax on the periphery of the nostril and not to deep in the nose. I definitely recommend a strip over top of the nose to remove any baby hairs if you want to be totally smooth though.
will the hairs come back thicker, darker, spiky????
The follicle is experiencing trauma every time it is removed from the follicle, which forces it to grow back thinner since it will now grow back as a baby hair. This will cause the hair to come back fine and thin, or not at all since constant trauma can kill the follicle!
Do you know if it works for big pores? I have black heads and slightly big pores… I don’t want them to get worsen
So for upper lip you apply against the grain but everywhere else is with? And does it matter which way you start on chin?
Hi Shaunna, yes you would apply against the grain for the lip. It is the only protocol that requires against the grain on the first try. There is something about the upper lip where the hair does not come up efficiently if initially laid with the grain. It is best to start the service on the upper lip going against the grain. Your more than welcome to test out this theory!
There is no specific way to lay the strip for the chin for the hair to come up efficiently, only the upper lip. Hope this helps!

How long does the hair need to be to wax if you have been shaving?
The hair needs to be the size of a grain of rice, or 2 weeks POST shave :)

What Temperature should the wax be? If my dial goes from 1-6 on the put, where would you put it? I usually keep it in the middle but it hardens so fast when I'm trying to apply the wax to the skin?

Every wax warmer is different so you can’t go by that, you have to just go by the consistency of the wax. It should be thick like honey

Hi! Why did you do the forehead? I thought people dont have hairs there (except from just over the eyebrows).
Hi:) there is hair for some people on their forehead especially where it comes down to a point of the eyebrows because it is so close to the hairline it's a lighter pigment but it can be thicker or longer than the peach fuzz from the rest of your face. @@jukie4719 1/2 The way I think is easiest right now is shaving with a facial razor . Depending on how thick or coarse your facial hair it can last you up two a week at the very least before you visibly start to see it growing back. For example I have thicker darker hair and it will last me at the very least a week . 1/2
@@jukie4719 2/2 If you decide to shave your face just make sure the you have a new clean blade you can sterilize it with some alcohol and make sure your face and hands are clean . If you have acne be very gentle on any inflamed acne spots so as to not cause an infection to the area. Use the razor at most twice and then throw it away because any germs and bacteria can enter your skin if overused or dirty .If you are nervous just chose a small test spot and see if you think it is the right way for you. Reminder to shave in the direction of the hair not against it. By responding to your question I am not encouraging anyone to remove facial hair but instead giving information for those who chose to do.!Please be very careful when using a razor on your face! I hope this helped you clear up some of your questions 😊

What about waxing your nose hair? How do you apply it inside the nasal cavity? And I often see professionals using a stick to attach to the wax. What kind of stick is that? Or can I use any kinds of wooden stick for the nasal cavity area?
I just use small wooden sticks for waxing and I put the hard wax on and put it in each nose hole and wait until it hardens and turn pull

Hey Kayla, great question many waxers use baby powder to absorb the natural oils of the skin before waxing, I choose to use cornstarch before waxing mainly because it is talc free. Applying this before the waxing process just helps the wax come off easier!

We would always recommend Hypoallergenic hard wax for the face!
Soft wax can be used for eyebrows but depending on the brand, may be too harsh for the rest of the face.
I want to get a facial wax but I'm scared of getting little bumps on my face afterwards...does anyone know how to avoid this from happening??
Exfoliating! Make sure you're doing it 2-3x a week. Please do NOT use coconut oil it'll clog your pores😭😭
Had this problem too when I began waxing. Tried many things; from slathering cucumber juice all over my upperlip for hours, to submerging my face into a big bowl of cold water and ice. LOL! Just get a hydrating toner. Apply that right after you're done. Make sure your hands are clean. Re apply a few times throughout the day. I find that avoiding everything else (including moisturizer) for 24hours works best. Occasionally I would use a sheet mask for extra hydrating. I use Hada Labo toner.
@@XxLeXi97xX I agree Lexi, please do not use coconut oil on the face. It is a 4 out of 5 on the comedogenic scale. 5 being the worst, which means it will clog your pores.

Do the people commenting on the wax not notice that the opposite direction are clean up strips? Meaning the original strip went with the direction of the growth and the clean up was after.
Hi Kaylah! With hard wax this is the ONLY way to pick up those hairs that were not grabbed the first time. Hard wax is VERY DIFFERENT from soft wax. If you are not familiar with using hard wax, this is a very SAFE and effective way to 'clean up' the left over hairs, without breaking them. Seeing as hard wax is the safest wax on the skin, you can rest assured that these clean up strips are effective and the least painful part of the entire process.

On the lip it wasn't. Against the grain was done first. That's what most people are talking about.

No you have to apply the wax in the direction the hair is growing then strip it from the opposite side to remove it from the root

That’s what I learned in Cosmo school. I think it depends on what kind of wax you use. Some waxes that will make their skin very sensitive to rip it twice.
