At 9:11 you're saying "If it says 'passive', that means it's always active." :D
It's clear what you mean, but it sounds funny ;)
Felix Jordan Ha! I hadn't considered that, but you're right, that does sound funny :)
Great and very clear video as usual :) Just bought the game yesterday, looking forward to playing it. Keep up the good work :)
michel van der Weide All the best - it's not easy!
Great video! Tried the free print and play, then instantly ordered it. I really enjoy this one as a solo game!
I totally agree! When I first got this from Kickstarter, I immediately played it solo twice in a row.
Glad you enjoyed this one!
You have a well put together channel. Very good vids sir !
Thank you very much!
Finally got my copy, and because I saw this video, I choose to not only pick this one up, but a gaming site had a sale for a 4 set of these tiny epic games! Thanks I am watching. :)
Hope you enjoy!
I just received the game today and this video cleared up some confusion for the solo play :) Thanks for posting. I'll be looking at Tiny Epic Galaxies next after I play a few games of this. :)
+OccasionalVlogger A pleasure! Glad you found this helpful!
Please make a video on the 2nd edition of this game! It looks like it is greatly improved!
Thanks for the interest!
Gideon Williams I’d like a video of the second edition too. I received my copy today, and love these videos in lieu of reading the rules (lazy, I know, but surely that’s the point of UA-cam channels such as this).
@@tanyabutton4806 I got the game shortly after writing that comment. The rules are actually extremely well made! If you follow this video and supplement it with the instructions you'll be able to breeze through them. There aren't many changes in the game except minor tweaks. The game is excellent!
Gideon Williams thanks for getting back to me so fast with your feedback. I’m going to give the game ago this week, and am very excited. I love Tiny Epic Galaxies, and enjoy cooperative games, so this was definitely a must-get for me.
I would like a second edition as well, please. I like these to confirm I understood the rules.
Looking forward to a playthrough of this game. Thanks, Rodney!
I hope you caught the live play through (which... admittedly, was 6 years ago :) ).
@@WatchItPlayed Is it a "dead" playthrough now?
Great instructional video.
Wood Planet Gaming Lodge Thanks so much!
I really enjoy this game
Did you see they released a 2nd edition?
Amazing tutorial!!
Thank you kindly!
Nice video. Would love to see a solo or two player game of this.
I hope to get one out in the next few weeks. So many games, so little time :)
Rodney, i need help i have tiny epic defenders but i have the second edition and I'm confused with the differences between the first and second edition and would like to know if you would please make a video for tiny epic defenders second edition. and thank you for helping me with all these board game tutorials, i would never be able to play some of my favorite games without this youtube channel. :)
Hey Jake, thanks for the kind words. So glad to know the videos have been helpful. I don't have a copy of the 2nd edition, so I don't have any plans to do a video for it right now. Sorry!
I love your vids. :)
Thank you!
Hey Rodney this is a little off topic but I was wondering if you were going to be at the CMON expo this year again?
Josef Caruthers I was invited, but haven't heard back from them recently.
3:14 - Rodney performs an awesome magic trick, changing rectangular cards into squares. 3:40 - he transforms them back into rectangular cards.
Nice.
More like 3:10, actually
What?
+MrCScottie Because of the angle of the table/camera the bottom row of cards basically looks square (optical illusion) while the top row (the shields) look normal card-shaped. When Rodney takes the cards from the top, turns them over and 90 degrees and lays them on the bottom it looks like the cards go from being rectangular up top to square on the bottom row. Tah dah!
I DO like magic tricks :)
Hey Rodney. A quick rules question if you don't mind.
What constitutes the beginning of a turn? The reason I ask is if you are on the capital and a group ally card is drawn does this allow you to replenish your health to full or do you have to wait until your coloured card is specifically drawn?
Also, can you succour a region to threat level Zero? Or is 1 the lowest value you can repair it to?
Thanks,
Chris
As long as you take at least one action, of that group action, you regain your health.
You can succor to zero.
Any second edition review coming? Could throw in the expansion if extra content is needed (i'd also secretly love that too)
Thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about that here: ua-cam.com/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/v-deo.html&t=342
I've got the second edition of the game and I can see that they kind of made it a little bit easier to play.
I picked up the second edition recently as well - looking forward to checking out the differences!
3:20 that contradicts the rulebook, which says: "Add any remaining Ally Cards to the Destruction Deck." (Maybe the effect is the same - i haven't yet played it.)
+Stephan Beal Yep, the effect is the same - you really just use the cards in the destruction deck to mark destroyed locations, so if you were to run out of cards, you could use the other ally cards that aren't being used.
Love this rules explanation video! It cleared up a couple of questions I had, but I still have an unanswered one: does the Epic Foe only deal damage to the location it's at once, when it's revealed, or does it continue doing damage each round? Thanks for your help!
Great question! The epic foe actually doesn't deal damage to a region at all. Unlike the other monsters, it doesn't attack (short of having effects which may deal damage).
do the heroes get a set number of action points each turn, or only when they draw their corresponding cards?
+Brian Huyck Only when drawing their corresponding cards.
hey, do you know whether it is allowed to succor a Region which has been destroyed?
Nope.
I'm confused on how to set the game up. 3 enemy cards go in the turn deck, then you add the selected number of dire enemies with normal enemies to the horde deck. My question is, how many cards are in the horde deck? I can't find the answer in the instructions :/
+Chase J You'll find that shown here: ua-cam.com/video/QTaFflAFy8Q/v-deo.htmlm9s
The rule book says that if one was to play solo that they should add two ally cards and both group ally cards. Does this mean that one player should use 2 heroes or would you just get another 3 action points for your one character despite the one of the ally cards not matching your meeple?
Good question! The rules don't make this clear, but you would use 2 heroes in that case.
+Watch It Played Thank you for the clarification.
Can you do a new 2.0 edition along with Dark war update??
Thanks for the interest. I talk a bit about that here: ua-cam.com/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/v-deo.html&t=342
@@WatchItPlayed your awesome, thanks. Keep up the great content.. my kids and I have watched you for years.
@@thebigo81 Thanks for being with us all this time!
So... the only time players get action points is when their card comes up?
Right!
In my copy of the game I cannot see a rule that says the artifact is lost after using it. In the video he says the artifact is lost after using it.
Do you have the second edition of the game? This video is for the first edition. That said, it is not unusual for the video to include rules not in the printed rulebook. This is because I often find things not covered by the rules (or where there are mistakes) and confirm with the publisher afterwards how the game should actually work, and that means the video ends up containing details the rule book missed. That could be the case here. I shot this long enough ago I can't say with certainty, but I'm as a confident as I can be, that the rules as presented were the correct rules for this edition.
Out of curiosity, what's with the huge list of 'producers'? I mean, what does it mean to be a producer in this list?
Hey Odi, the majority of the funding for our series takes place during a yearly fundraiser, which enables me to work on the show full time. There is a donation level at which point you get your name added to the Producer credits.
Ahhh very cool. I'll subscribe so I won't miss the next one. Thx!
My pleasure!
Can I move more than one region at a time?
You can move multiple times during your turn, you just have to spend an action point for each.

Thank you for the reply.....much appreciated.
