- Hi folks, here’s me playing a track from my new album (released at the beginning of the week!) called Before the Light. Here I’m playing it on a rather special guitar - one of the first I played by Tom Sands, and really the instrument which sparked us working together since. I hope you enjoy!
Check out everything to do with the new album here: willmcnicol.co...

Every musical journey with Will exudes beauty, but his gift of exploring new terrain is breathtaking.
Thanks for the support, Paul!
Agreed!
Hello Will,
I've been listening to "Miniatures" last couple days. I was trying to find a few words that could express how beautiful it is.
For sure i loved it. But why did i love it more than many other compositions that i've listened to in this little life time of mine?
No complex answers at this point. Just a very simple one actually: your compositions makes an unique beauty emerge and i'm profoundly grateful for it. It was like this couple years ago when i first heard "The Wake Up" album. It was like finding a gem. And it is like finding a new beauty from this gem, from a different perspective when you share a new work.
For now, my favourite song on "Miniatures" is "Two Days in November". There's a graceful comforting tenderness expressed on this composition.
Thank you for sharing this gift of music with us!
Hi Asafe, thanks so much for taking the time to listen, and indeed for your words in this comment - hugely appreciated. I’m just so pleased you’ve been enjoying the new tunes. Two Days in November was written when my wife and newborn son had to go into hospital for a few days. I couldn’t visit due to Covid restrictions - it was a strange time. As has so often been the case, music and composition provided great solace - and that tune came from that. Glad you’ve been enjoying it =)
A flood of feelings from just listening to this one song. Can’t wait for the album! I hope many more people come to know about you. You’re a gift to mankind man!
Thanks for the kind words, Jonathan - much appreciated. Glad you’re digging the new tunes!
Oh that's really nice mate, great stuff
Jolly good of you to say, Jarvis - thank you!
I have just spent a very enjoyable half hour listening to your new album. Thanks for the music Will.
Hi Stewart, many thanks indeed for listening, and glad you’ve been enjoying it!
Very deep ! What a sound !
Cheers Jason!
Hey Will, that's quite an emotive performance. I think I prefer this one to the album version! :) Like the dry reverb-free recording too, makes it more intimate. And I'm a reverb-nut.....
Cheers kindly. Yeah, it’s amazing how much of different vibe it has. I like the “larger than life” vibe reverb can provide sometimes, but this one is great fun when totally dry - keeps things intimate as you say, and those chords really tight.
Unbelievable. Loving the new record dude
Ah Leo - thanks so much my man - and I appreciate you taking a listen!
very nice ! I actually just came across you from your excellent LCM acoustic guitar grade 5 piece s I must teach , i see in your bio you did classical guitar diploma s , which are super high level . do you play any classical now ?
Hi Alan, thanks for that - glad you're enjoying the LCM tunes! I do indeed still play a bit of classical, and always love going back to nylon strings - feels like my musical 'home' in many respects!
Now that’s an interesting tuning…
Bit of a weird one for sure!
