Will, I just have to say I stumbled across one of your videos, and I am absolutely shook. I have never heard more beautiful guitar pieces. I have been sitting and binging your videos for the past hour, and I am just in bliss. Cheers!!
Brilliantly composed and captured, man. There's such an inimitable quality to this recording, the collaboration between you and Tom is of the highest caliber and it's a privilege to witness!
Thanks Will, for the tasty entertainment! You're 1 of only a very few new posts over the weekend. With all the Coronavirus dodging going on, I expected to hear more music from my list of favorites. The TV is all about the virus, & old worn out movies. So after being bored stiff all weekend, I decided to restring my guitars. Tried a set of John Pearse phos lights on my Collings 01AT, and yikes! Nice sounding strings, kept me busy for about 3 hours! Nothing like fresh strings!
My pleasure entirely, Mike - thanks for listening. And yes - a perfect excuse to try some new strings! Have fun with the experimenting and extra time to practice - I'll be continuing to work hard on new releases, don't you worry about that!
Jupiter is such a perfect name for this guitar (and the piece), because as small as the instrument appears, the sound from it is absolutely massive! I'm finding this piece gets better with every listen - another mark of a great work of music I think. Bravo, Will! Also loving the socks!! 💓🧦💜 Stay safe man 💪
Greg Batchelor Ah thanks so much there, Greg. So glad you’ve been enjoying it - and yes you’re quite right - an enormous sound from such a small guitar! =)
That is an incredibly beautiful composition - thank you for sharing that with the world. And I am so pleased to hear the Jupiter like this - I can't think of another guitar that sounds so warm and sparkly at the same time (I thought this was the most special of the three in the shootout, although they are all wonderful)
Royal Geesey Ah thanks very much man! Really appreciate that. A tutorial may well be on the cards - I’ll keep you posted! The score is available via my website if you fancied giving it a bash in the meantime =)
Will - this is deeply beautiful. How is that possible? It's just like finding the rarest pearl after a long journey. The ultimate gem after traveling city by city of a large country. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful piece. Soren Kierkegaard - existentialist philosopher - says that on sky no work is able to please if it's not a work of love. More than a composition, musically this is a work of love. Stay well! (Wondering: which strings do you use?!) Thanks, Best regards. Asafe.
Hey Asafe, those are some lovely words indeed, and I appreciate them very much - thank you. Glad you enjoy the piece =) As for the strings - I’m on Elixir 80/20 HD Lights (13-53). All the very best, Will.
Thanks man. The Tom Sands link is working for me - but just Google his name and it should be fine. As for the woods - this one is in Redwood and Black Limba.
Michael Hedges just called me to tell you how much he enjoyed this piece. He enjoyed it immensely. I have a private line for conversations like this. 👍👍👍😎
@@will_mcnicol Thanks Will! Redwood was my first guess, but it is not the only secret of this wonderful tone - you are an extremely talented player! Good luck and keep on composing masterpieces.
I always love returning to this song.

Not sure why it took me so long to watch this? What a wonderful composition.
Well I’m happy you did - cheers Sam =)
Outstanding! It’s criminal that this doesn’t have millions of views and commensurate subscribers. UA-cam is profoundly broken.
I love that it sounds as if it must be in a different tuning but is in fact standard!
Cheers Roy! Thanks for listening.
Stunning. And truly moving.
Thanks Oscar!

What a stunning piece, delicate and subtle yet as powerful as a spell, love it! What tuning are you using?
Hi Paul, thanks so much - appreciate that. This one’s in standard =)
The link to the luthier is not working. Is this all KOA. Adore your technique and compositions by the way. I was actually searching Will Mcnicol KOA
Thanks man. The Tom Sands link is working for me - but just Google his name and it should be fine. As for the woods - this one is in Redwood and Black Limba.
@@will_mcnicol thank you so much for replying. Have you ever demoed an all koa for a video.
It’s finally out!
Ethan Shao 😅🥳🥳🥳🥳

John Horton Well John, firstly may I say how envious I am of your private line...! And secondly, my thanks for those words - they mean an awful lot =)
Such disciplined thumb, I think he is classically trained.
