Question. Atm I have a 2in rear shackles , if I were to get a 2/4 kit the rear would sit alot lower leading it to a 6? Than a 4in. I would need to install my stock shackle to get that 4in in the rear?
I believe you can attribute the 1” increase in rear height to the difference in tires. That 255/70 is about 1” taller than the 235’s in front. Same combination I am going with on my ‘91. How much material did you remove from the front lower control arms to clear the wheels? Did you need to reinforce that area for strength? Great job! Thank you!
JUST seen your video. I have the same JDM 2/4 kit planned & an ext.cab OBS . Looks Sweet. Was also concerned about running 15" wheels with same 235/70 tire - I now see I have nothing to worry about.
Holley PN: 550-917. The ECU itself is the same in all X and X Max kits respectively. The difference is the wiring harness for your application (24x vs 58x, injector plugs etc.)
Thanks for watching! The pinion angle was alright. Since we already had the kit, we installed the driveshaft angle kit. No issues with vibration. There was a bit of bottoming out but shock extenders fixed that by correcting the shock angle so they worked properly. We'd say they are a must have with a drop kit.
@@misaelorozco9791 honestly that's why I went with such narrow tires haha. Super easy fitment. In the future I'll experiment with wider tires when I actually have the power that warrants more traction. Good luck on your project!
Just the drip rail on the LCA to where it looked like it would clear the wheel when the suspension cycled and when I turned. Best bet to fit your wheels on while the truck is on jack stands and have someone turn your wheel while you watch underneath. That will give you a good idea on how much to trim. Wheels bigger than 15 inch or with little backspace may not need trimming.
@@redbirdauto1713 thanks for the reply. I'm running 15" so I needed to trim it for sure. It didnt take much trimming. Thanks for the video! Is there a video of the engine swap?
@@Matt-df5fe I'm sure he is gonna want to go lower so its not money wasted anyways, and spindles are a good investment cause you can have more travel in your suspension instead of sitting on bumpstops with a shorter coil
It looks great! Keep up the good videos.
Great vid. Wish you drove it around then did a walk-around.

just a few inches. didn't have to reinforce. all youre really removing is the little rain gutter under there.
Where can I get this drop kit I have a v6 obs will this drop look the same with 15x10
Im going to do 22s coys wheels on 2,4 drop rough country kit

All has been tried and is true my friend, hammer down!
You said you installed the pinion angle kit, was there much vibration prior, or did you just install it anyways, cause you had it ??
@@mattzelinski7472 The angle was alright, dont think there was any vibration really. but we installed it because we already had it.
Cool !! Thanks for the feedback. Am now a subscriber. 🤘🏻
@@mattzelinski7472 thanks man! Lots of cool stuff coming up with the obs. Stay tuned.
What terminator x max did you get, there's a couple to choose from

Alright thanks
Hey man I'm doing an ext. Cab too but running 285 70r15 15x10 rears and 15x8 255 60r15 275 60s way to short for the rear
275/60 r15
235/75 r15 is what I personally run on 10 rears and 8 fronts. Stock height, the tires are even sidewall height
Did you need to shim and adapt? I read that some people only have to shim, they don’t have to use adapters.
what is the shocks part number?
Thanks for the video I'm thinking of getting 2/4 drop kit on my 89obs
Did you leave the factory leafsprings on that 2/4 drop?
@@low_funxtion I have not done it yet but yes I will
did you have instagram? where he buy the bedcover
bedcover came from a local auto accessory shop. its a truxedo low pro QT

What part # is the pinion kit you got?
Do you have the link to the drop kit
What size tire are you using in the rear
Do you need the shocks to lower it as well or can I use the stock shocks?
Need shocks
Nice setup! How was the pinion angle, I have a ex too, planning on doing hangers and belltech pinion kit, how bad does it bottem out? Thanks!

If it’s a 4 wheel drive truck can the 2wd lowering kit still be used?
On the rear, yes. On the front, no.
I have a quick quwstion im trying to do a 3/5 drop and have wide tires that go out past the fenders. Would i need to get stock with wheels?
You may. With my 4 inch in the back I have to watch how wide I can go with my tire wheel combo. At very least you'd have to roll your fender lips.
@@Matt-df5fe i wanted to avoid all that but i figured i better ask before i get to planning and ordering parts. Thank you i truly apreciate it

Wheel and tire size?
Wheels are 15x7. Front tires 235 70 15 rear 255 70 15
Was the gas tank in ur way ??
Nope, it made it tighter on that side but it was fine.
How much of the lower control are did you remove?

@@kg7946 yes sir, there's a 3 part series on the engine stuff. Thanks for watching!
Seen it in stoon
Its cause the drop shocks are made for a shorter coil spring, a spindle just moves the wheel up
100%. Lesson learned there.
