Really nice job ! I’m planning to make one as well. So many of these machines only sharpen the face and the users are adamant on face grind only. but cooks videos insist that the back of the tooth should be lightly grazed as well. And that the gullet skim is over rated about stress cracks. I’d like to make one like yours where I could do face grind in one pass then a back grind only in the second pass then do gullets next sharpening. Is that possible to touch top back of the teeth only without lowering too deep for gullets ? I’m thinking by lengthening the push rod a bit so it would miss the face ? Thank you
Yes you can just touch the back of the tooth. There are two adjustments one for how deep the wheel drops into the cut and one where the stone lands on the tooth profile.
I use a magnetic reed switch which drops out the self holding drive relay when the magnet on the blade passes by the switch. I am using the normally closed contact on the reed switch in series with the ground leg of the relay coil. Basically when you push the momentary button for the feed drive it pulls in a relay which has one contact in parallel with the on switch so that when you release the on button the relay holds it self in. The momentary off button is in series with the reed switch, both are normally closed so that either one can stop the drive.
Very nice and definitely one of the better band saw sharpeners I have seen on UA-cam.

Nice machine. What device are you using to turn it off by the magnet?

ok mister
can you please help me to make cam
I bought the cam from Timber Wolf as it matches the blades I use. Cook sawmills also makes cams for different blades.
