- Here we have Air Tanzania's very first A220-300! Although i just posted one very recently, i really liked this shot and couldn't resist to post another.. plus its a gorgeous livery on a beautiful plane who would say no to that? :P
I heard this was the last test flight for the aircraft before customer acceptance flight and then delivery. I plan to catch its delivery!

As a Kenyan happy for our TZ brothers.
With the completion of Julius Nyerere International Airport's new terminal 3 scheduled for mid 2019 plus a national carrier in Air Tanzania they could be a game changer in future aviation within East Africa. Good to see Kenya Airways getting more competition, they will have to lower their fares for this route which are still quite exorbitant, Jomo Kenyatta Airport may suffer slightly in the long term as airlines that currently don't fly to Dar will stop using JKIA with modernization of Julius Nyerere Airport.
Now we wait for our Ugandan neighbors to revive Air Uganda and modernize Enttebbe airport. East Africa leading the way in African aviation- Ethiopian, Kenya Airways, Rwandair and now Air Tanzania.

The difference between this CS300/A220-300 is that it is a 3 meter stretch of the CS100/A220-100. The A220-300 seats from 130 to 160 but only the 160 if an additional door is added which can be done anytime after the plane is in service. The Bombardier CS100 tested the brand new type of jet engine for Pratt and Whitney, using 7 jets over a 3 year period to make the engine perfect, before first delivery to any airline. It took Pratt over 30 years to design, develop and build the new type of jet engine, that is the first to have a gearbox inside the engine. This allows part of the engine to operate at a slower speed, giving a huge 22 percent boost in fuel mileage, reducing noise by 70 percent and dropping emissions by about 55 percent compared to every other new jet engine available for this mid sized jet. This plane has the biggest windows, the widest isles, the widest seats, the lowest overhead bins by 6 inches, lower, and the biggest washrooms in any Economy section plane. Oh, yes, each isle gets at least one window. The washroom, with it's own window, can accept an airline wheelchair.

AIR TRANSAT & SUNWING should buy this plane.
Yes it is possible as long as leaders change their mind set, well set by JPM. Miller said in his book titled "why is Africa poor ?" and i quoted his phrase in explaining the ideal; "it's because our leaders has made a deliberate choice ". Rais wa Tanzania seem to change the course which is a welcome development and lesson enough for other leaders to realize the best way to take at least for the sake of their citizens.
