i wonder where the trade-off is because i imagine some brands want $3k just for a module with these capabilities by itself - if this kit proves its durability over time, alesis could be catapulted over the other electronic drum brands with this flagship for pure value
I've been setting up and tearing this kit down every sunday at my church since the kit came out. I can honestly say the build quality is very good thus far!
Just saw this Man for the first time on FB. I think fusion Jazz is the HARDEST type of music for a drummer to play. There is so much intricacy with the rest of the band! One 1/16th note out of place sticks out like a broken thumb! The first fusion album I ever heard was the self-titled Stanley Clarke album: (His pic with a brownish background.) On it was Tony Williams. He turned out to be my favorite drummer. A few years later, he went to the hospital for a "ROUTINE" Gallbladder operation. He never came out. I felt like I had the flu for a week!!
If you watch enough review videos on the Strata Prime, you will see that it has too many flaws and issues to use this kit live or even for playing songs for videos. There is a video of a great drummer using this kit in the studio with his band, but the sounds are clearly not from the module as I believe he was using a computer VST for sounds. All in all, Alesis is heading in the right direction. I just do not think their kits are worth buying until they come out with one that actually works as well or better than the competition.
@@Iamadrummer One thing I've noticed about most reviews is the guys don't take their time to learn how to use the features. They just mention or talk a bit about them without actually using them...
I've been considerating getting an electeic drum because of "noise pollution" issues around where I stay. I think this would be a great investment. Electric drums are no where near the real thing but this is quiet realistic. I'd definitely buy this
The Alesis Strata Prime set may be the best offering from Alesis, but... I can not recommend Alesis products. Alesis is stepping up there game and trying to come out with more professional kits but their e-kits are only good for beginning drummers and more advanced drummers will want a better kit that perfoms as it should more like an accustic kit rather than a practice toy. The Strata Prime Module is a great advance for e-drums, but the set itself if you watch enough reviews of this kit has too many flaws and issues to consider buying. For about the same amount of money, I think there are many better brands of e-kits out there as I have a terrific, better brand one. The other thing is that e-kits are quieter than accustic kits, but they are not silent. The Strata Prime kit has a 20" bass drum that is muffled but still louder than most e-kit bass drums. If you watch 65Drums, he does great in-depth reviews of electronic drum kits. He even demonstrates how loud the kits are without sound. He, as well as most of the reviewers of the Strata Prime kit, love the module but can not recommend the kit, at least not until they fix many of the issues the kit seems to have.
Enjoyed watching J rod play. what sticks does he use ? and really nice kit. what was the name of the actual drum set he was playing ? it sounded more realistic than any Roland sound. and the module is really nice. my question is if you use this kit to record in Pro Logic. how do the outs work ? is each drum and cymbal recorded separately into the DAW ? or how would it work and plug into the audio interface ? and how would it show up on your logic screen ?
The improved sounds and the module are the best parts of the kit. Sadly, the kit has too many issues and cons to be considered fire, and the competition already has better e-kits
Jrod is one of the best and could make a play toy sound good lol. My problem with electric kits is the mesh heads and the noise that the rubber rims/cymbals do produce what we're hearing is the direct out not the in room sound. computer seems like all that tech should have been around anyway.
Hello everyone, does anyone know if different pieces from different kits can be combined? That is, a NY maple snare with Birch toms, a Cooper bass drum, etc.? Thank you and greetings.
....$3k is actually cheap for a good, flagship kit. And not everybody, like myself, can have an acoustic kit right now. I've got a kid and my in-laws living in my house so practicing all hours of the days and nights is a no-go anymore and I can't afford an outside of the home studio space but I want an ekit that looks and feels like a real kit and can actually keep up with my playing. And anything under $1.5k, let alone $3k, is not doing that
it's good to have both if you work professional. Some clients want a real recording, so I have my acoustic kit. some want to have realisticly played midi drums for their project, or just working with the sound from drum plugins, which is fine. You can't offer both without having both drum options available. In covid times I was so happy to have my electronic kit at home so I could make music. I wouldn't give away my "real" acoustic drums, neither the Edrums.

And there in lies the rub....Alesis stuff tends to fall apart.
@@d.j.cantelli8074 Long term? Or clear design issues?
also i wasn’t impressed with the cymbals. they felt spongey and sluggish compared to roland digital

@@d.j.cantelli8074would you recommend this for home practice? I’ve been drumming my whole life and never had a drummer over $1000.

This kit sets the tone for future live performances with regards to hybrid set ups... it's really 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

@@IamadrummerI think the kit is 100% worth it because it has 215,000 sounds that’s insane compared to any electric drum kit I’ve ever heard 🤯
Interface is lightyears ahead of Roland
It’s an akai mpc one interface

Yes sir I’m have to get this drum set now🔥
I had concerns about rebound, but look like that isn't an issue. Never played mesh so didn't know.
Mesh is pretty bouncy with 2 ply heads if they are tight. Depends on how tight you make them
Acoustic all the way!
Sure but its not an option for everyone
I'd like to hear how some kits sound with compression on at least the snare and kick.
I’m glad I found you on UA-cam since TikTok is tripping! 🙄 You are a master at your craft, sir!

Kit sounds dope but just curious what camera are you using?
Which sound of Strata for snare and toms in this video ? Thanks
Hey j rod. What kit were you using here?
Sounds amazing, love it ❤❤❤❤👌👌👌

Oh man great video but audio is clipped!!! 😢
Yessuuuuurrrrrr!!!!!!!!
Can you tune the kit though ? Like inside the software?
Yeah, that’s standard on most e-kits these days.
it's their new flagship model. it's gonna have the most features and editability they offer
oh HELL yeah
Alright cool, thank you.
trop superficiel! rien ne remplacera jamais la beauté d'une batterie acoustique
Would like to hear it in a mix.

With this particular e-kit, yes you can 👍🏽
🔥🔥🔥
Sounds good but I just wish they used the same size shells as the strike pro smh
Mr. Sexy at it again! Luv it! 🔥
Problems here with Alesis Strike Multipad no support whatsoever dont buy Alesis products!
I know, and it also sounds like they are playing with street buckets.
Super good drum player. But this drums sounds like street buckets.
Lol an electric drum set for 3k plus is a no go. Might be cool or some but I’d rather a real drum set for that cost. 🤷🏾♂️
They are used for different things, my man. That's like saying "100k for a pickup truck? I would rather buy a sports car. " Different applications.

but within that set, you can have hundreds of sets
Those drums sound TERRRRRRRRIBLE. Garbage samples.
That's one kit out of 76 lol and it's a dry kit, not meant to sound roomy and live.
