Hi friend, thank you for sharing this. My fiancee and I hiked the Coleman River trail today but with the short days we didn't have enough light to follow the gravel road too. So it was nice to get to see it in your video.
At 36:00, how did you and the truck driver handle the situation where you were bumper to bumper on the one-lane road? I didn't see any recent areas where you could pull off a bit?

Thanks for your kind comments. I had seen an opportunity earlier to do a small turnoff along that road so I backed up giving him enough space to squeeze by. He was going way too fast for the road and conditions

@@thebitterhiker I agree, he seemed too fast and aggressive. You handled yourself with class.
We had a couple of cars going too fast toward us too but it was when we were driving out and it was wide enough for two cars. Still always unsettling. If nothing else, they kick up rocks and such on those of us being respectful to the area.
Best wishes and happy hiking to you.

Always wanted to drive this road. Unfortunately didn't get to this summer as I had to take my car instead of my truck. 😔

I think you can do it in a car as the road isn't rutted and is graveled. As long as you don't go onto Charlie's Creek Road, you'll be fine. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!

@@thebitterhiker My car is modified for better on road performance which unfortunately heavily compromised its ability to go on gravel. I'm sure it could do it in an emergency but it would be very uncomfortable doing so and would likely bottom out on stuff.

Yeah, you got into NC, and just for your own personal knowledge, it’s pronounced Nan-ta-hay-la. Tate City is a neat little place in the middle of nowhere. If you like this and go back that direction, look up Popcorn.
