Love your honesty; it's really refreshing! I am a steak girl but missed out on having my bistecca alla fiorentina in Florence but will next year so thank you for reminding me - and sharing your experience even if it wasn't really your thing. The lampredotto, I agree, is delicious and ubiquitous so everyone should get a taste. And your shots of Florence are really beautiful. They brought back my memories and it was great to see what I have seen, again. Keep up the great work. Subbed.

Fiorentina -> Firenze (Florence in italian). Thats where the name comes from.
Its traditionally a 1kg (2 pounds) steak cut in half either tableside or shortly before serving. U can identify the traditional places because they have "2 portions" written underneath it. U got a very VERY small portion.

Gusta pizza is seriously the best pizza I've ever had. We ate on the steps of that church nearby. Probably the most Italian thing I've ever done.

Remember that "pepperoni pizza" is an American thing and in Italy that's called "pizza al salame" (and it's not so common, and slices can be bigger), "peperoni" means "bell Peppers". Remember that natives Italians "Italian Americans".

I'm sure this is outdated clip but if you ever return to Italy, go to Naples for the Pizza and get seafood pasta dish. Everything is outstanding.
I wouldn't say outdated is a right word... i mean if I posted a Christmas video now then it would be outdated, but in this particular video it doesn't matter when I release it.. I mean TV shows for instance are taped months and movies are sometimes filmed a year in advanced. I wish I could do it more up to date, but it was physically impossible past the summer. Thank you though.

What’s civilised about eating a massive steak?
Florence, Rome anywhere in Italy. The country is rich in history but the citizens are quite primitive. Hence why the country is extremely racist and xenophobic. Florence is less of that because the influx of international students who travel there for art school but you'll still experience it when dining or entering businesses.

Naples is in Italy you idiot, modern pizza was invented for the Italian Queen and King after the unification of the country.
