Which do you prefer - classic body butters or modern hybrids? 😉 Try my DIY Body Shop Body Butter & Whipped Mango Body Butter Recipes here: wholeelise.com/blog/diy-body-shop-body-butter/
Definitely emulsified body butters - less greasy, plus adding in water (locking it into your skin) makes my dry legs happy! Will give your dupe a try, thanks 😊 Recently bought a coconut based silicone alternative so I may try adding a bit of that.
I prefer the modern hybrid but I’m willing to give your classic body butter recipe a try since I never knew to add arrow root powder to cut down on the greasy feel.
I havent tested those, but using only oils dont like very much.body butters are more greasy and with no water my skin doesnt hidrate.so i prefer emulsions.
I love whipped body butter, it feels much more wholesome. I have used Body shop before, it's more of a thick cream very moisturizing, but sadly it also has way too many chemicals that are not authentic.Thank you so much Elsie, will definitely try this out
First of all thank you soo much. This is one of the best recipes I have tried....♥️♥️I worked soo good and the moisture stays in my skin for maximum 3-4 days even after shower. There’s no oily residue that i hate and is soo light. Thank you elise🤩🤩
Thank you so much for this. The Body Shop has discontinued the original mango body butter and the new one may smell amazing but it doesn't work half as well. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
Elise previously created a very detailed & informative video where she formulated a foaming African Black Soap. During the video, as she does, was very detailed.
Dear Elise, I want to really thank you for your generous spirit in the way you share your ingredients and your suppliers. I have noticed that many who promote making their own skin care etc are no way near as generous. I pray that you will have Big success and continue to grow. I have only been following you for few weeks and I am so impressed. I will be making creams, soaps and shampoos for myself to save money and because I have no confidence in what I am buying in shops. I wonder if you can negotiate discounts from the suppliers you have mentioned ...just a thought... Thanks
Elise, this was an amazing video, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been making body butters, but some of my friends say how much they love the Body Shop Butters. I had read the ingredients that the Body Shop use and was amazed at all the "additives", so different from my body butters. I learnt so much from your in depth video, I will continue making the body butters the way I do, if my friends prefer the Body Shop products, so be it, the ingredients do not inspire me to replicate!! Thank you for your work.
Hi, thank you so very much for sharing your interesting & informative recipes with everyone. I recently subscribed so I decided to make your Whipped Body Butter for my Mom and she absolutely loved it! Please keep your incredible content coming. Elise, thanks a million for all that you do.
Hi Elise, You’re doing a great job! Can I request you to please post a moisturiser for post menopausal women to use for intimate use. I have had an extreme dry and thin skin even in my young age and after a complete hysterectomy it has become worse. I can’t take hormones because of breast cancer family history. I’ll be extremely grateful if you can help.
I absolutely love your channel ❤! I follow you on all platforms and look forward to learning from you. You’re beautiful and very graceful. Thank you for sharing
Hello Elise Happy New Year, Glad to see you. I am glad too that you did a comparison of the butters. My preference would be the 2nd one the whipped butter. Thanks for sharing.
This channel is amazing, I am in the process of starting my own skin care line for people with eczema, specifically gentle for black children and babies who suffer from it. Do you have any suggestions for DIY toners that are moisturizing?
Elise, this is the video I have been waiting for! I fool around with emulsified body butter ideas all the time but none of them ever compare to a true body butter. Thank you for this comparison, it is amazing!
Hi there your videos are very pleasing and voice is soothing which is highly motivating to make these beauties. Can you also please show us how to imitate Egyptian magic cream? Thanks
lol i tried recreating this but i couldn't figure out how a body butter could look like that😂 anyways i love how you're always helping me figure this stuff out plus your aesthetic is top tier. I hope you're having a good year so far
Hello Elise so happy I found your channel, I am now a subscriber, 🤗 I wanted to ask canni leave out the cytel alcohol from the whipped body butter recipe but leave in the arrowroot powder to lessen the greaseness
Elise thanks for the great content. Can someone explain why the olive-derived emulsifier is used with the glyceryl stearate? Aren’t they both emulsifiers, thanks.
I am absolutely in love with your channel and website. The products you have provided us with are just amazing! I have a question though. Why is it that when I double this recipe, why can't I get it to thicken completely like a single batch?
Doing some research before I launch a skincare line and so glad I found you 😍 will definitely be checking out your website for all the resources there. Amazing work new subscriber here ❤️
Truly love and enjoy watching videos a lot and I would definitely be trying to make this emulsifying body butter myself thank you so much for sharing this video with us all if you don't mind me asking you can you also share diy recipe body shop style lip Butter too would love to see it.
Hi! First off I love your channel, great videos! Keep up the great work! I have two questions. You mentioned that some of us may not why not want silicones as an ingredient to be used…may I ask why not? What is it that people generally don’t like about silicones? Also I made your hair butter, and while it’s a great recipe I don’t like how to cocoa butter overpowers in the recipe, because sometimes I’d like to use essential or fragrance oils and play around with the different scents. My question is with the whipped body butter towards the end of this video, can I substitute the same amount of grams of cocoa butter with some more mango butter? Or is there a way to add in less cocoa butter or adjust the mango/cocoa butter ratio to where you can’t really smell it? I know these butters have different textures and properties, so will the recipe still work out the same and will it go whip well with the other ingredients like the arrowroot? P.S sorry for the long post, and thank you in advance! ❤️
Hi Elise, I've just subscribed and really enjoyed watching this! Quick question (I'm sorry if I missed this in the video) how long does the 2nd recipe last before it spoils? Now I'm off to have a whole marathon on your channel 😂
Hi Elise, ive been on a formulating kick the past few weeks so ive been living on your channel. I made this one and honestly it may be the best thing I've ever used 🥹
Hi Elise! 😊 I’m new to you videos but I love them. And had a suggestion on a video idk a diy on Josie Maran argan body butter, and gold bond radiance renewal whipped Shea butte.
Hey ! great video! would love to try making these butters. One question though , how long will the traditional body butter last ? & how can we preserve it longer even in humid climates . :)
U r amazing! Truly blessed to see your videos, also thanks for the great tutorials!! I tried this body butter, texture is amazing, but I need it more thicker consistency exactly like a butter, so can I reduce the water percentage?? If yes let me know how much? Thanks again
Hi Mme , I wanted to know, instead of using cetyl alcohol, can I use sterile sodium chloride for body butter? What's the use/benefits in making butter with that? Is it mandatory to use It (cetyl alcohol or any others, like isopropyl...etc) Thank you for your answer.
Hey Elise, I loved this video! I personally prefer a body butter but have been started to formulate emulsified ones…I formulated with olivem 1000 (5%) and 25% oils (shea b, mango b, avocado, and coconut) and followed the rest of the recipe but for some reason mine comes out thick but feels dry (not moisturizing at all)…I’m not sure if it’s the emulsifier (maybe switch or lower the %) or if I should just stick to thicker oils but if you have any tips they are greatly appreciated ! Much luvvv
Coconut oil is solid at room temperature which can clog your pores when you are at a cool trmperature while fractionated coconut oil does not harden up and stays liqyiudy at any temperature
Hey Elise! Great video as always. I was curious if you have a rule of thumb when incorporating fruit extracts, particularly in the creme body butter? would love to experiment but not sure where to start/gage
I am so happy I stumbled onto your video! First, let me say that you are stunningly beautiful and a lady full of class ♥ I am sure going to love your videos in the future. I am going to make this butter today. I do have glyceryl stearate and PEG 100 as the CreamMaker brand that I would like to use in this recipe. What would the gram weight of that be or could I just use that instead of the glyceryl stearate alone? Thank you so much! ♥
Hello sis am a new follower, I love everything you do About the emulsifies can I use normal Ewax and certryl alcohol Am not sure I can get the oda emulsifies here in Nigeria I will love to try it Thanks and God bless

Chemicals? What ingredients do you refer to as chemicals in their butters?
I love how u explain everything....and in such a soothing soft voice

Thank you so much for this. The Body Shop has discontinued the original mango body butter and the new one may smell amazing but it doesn't work half as well.

Thank you so much. You are a great blessing to womanhood.

Pls recreate strawberry body butter
Your channel is amazing! So are you ❤️
Elise, I am in love with this utter I think. I have to make it first. One quick question, can I use palm oil instead of cocoa butter?
Yes you can, just bear in mind that replacing an oil with butter will lead to a looser texture 😊
Hi there your videos are very pleasing and voice is soothing which is highly motivating to make these beauties. Can you also please show us how to imitate Egyptian magic cream? Thanks

Absolutely, it's great for sealing in moisturise and softening hair. A small amount goes a long way though 😊

Could the cetyl alcohol be replaced with bees wax or should it be just added to the overall recipe
It would be interesting to use floral water instead of water 😊
And maybe a bit of turmeric for the color but not to much not to stain
