Bethesda Charging $7 For A Single Starfield Quest...
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 чер 2024
- As expected, Bethesda are using the Creation Club to sneak in their own paid DLC / microtransactions under the guise of them being "mods" instead of literally just the old Horse Armour situation.
Clearly, Bethesda were feeling left out after all the recent criticism BioWare has been getting for Dragon Age. Their answer? Charging $7 for a quest... - Ігри
Its the fucking horse armor all over again.
Its much worse
Hee Hee.
I know right! There is TOO many quest (you don't even have to work to find them) and not enough compelling gameplay elements lol... oh and the mighty loading screen :)
Their first taste of blood that started it all.
@@franciscor390 We fund the fun lives of pampered devs that get to have fun making a game, instead of making a fun game. lol
Bethesda... Bethesda never changes.
Not true , they get worse
@@RichardPhillips1066 I stand corrected.
Yep when he meant never changes he meant never changes for the better so whether they getting worse or not its still the same thing and that's not they are getting worse really because they were always like that hiding it probably.
Yet people still eat this turd like nothing..
That's a lie. We have changed... changed for the worse.
Lol AAA studios always doubling down on Shite after Shite that's what they are good at
Charging for mods after the mediocre launch of this game is crazy, this is when you release a bunch of free stuff to get good will of players back for this game and get people to actually play this game again
Some of these people who are so strongly defending starfield I just have to believe that they're working for Bethesda and that wouldn't surprise me.
People defending Fallout 76 there are a lot of idiots out there
Completely agree. I always feel bad for them when their paid mod attempts fail. It's a constant reminder that they rarely learn from their mistakes.
I remember Bethesda giving away free "extensions" in Morrowind like the adamantium helm
Zenimax media is Donald trumps brother & his cronies lol
Wow, didn't know Trump's brother runs Zenimax, but it makes sense.
I wouldn't pay 7$ for Starfield let along for a single quest in it. Yes, i am not joking. Bethesda is that incompetent that even for free i wouldn't touch any of their games.
That's legit the reason why I didn't even bother pirating Starfield lol.
At this point, it's not about the money. It's about time, and I'd rather not (subjectively) waste it on nonsense.
Smart move; you saved yourself a lot of frustration, misery, depression, & boredom. Wish I did the same.
You'd have to pay me 700 dollars to do a single starfield quest.
The DLC was taken out of the game, so is already complete, and is just sitting in a PC somewhere; by not releasing it too soon, they think us gamers will think it's a large expansion! Couple of people have said the Tracker quest is 30 -45 minutes. The guy wanting to delete negative reviews is a Bethesda employee!
And we had thought that $5 horse armor was bad before... -gonna charge for quests now?
I have gamepass so I didn't directly pay for Starfield. I planned on buying a complete edition once they are done with expansions but as time pass, it is rather unlikely I do that. Will likely ignore the dlcs unless they are a massive surprise and get rave reviews. Too much time passed between launch and dlc...
Every person i saw praising the ship building, i asked, ok fine its good, but what do you do with the ship? There nothing to do, never got an answer
Same for base-outpost building. What's it for? Sure, the idea looks interesting, but... why? Nothing like the meta-reason we had in Fallout 4 for building settlements. Nothing is really gained by it. The linking between your outposts is a shit-fest (one item transported per landing pad? So that's the whole space taken up by landing pads? F' me...) It's a hodgepodge of some good ideas, some once-good ideas from prior games utterly broken in this one, and no gripping storyline or "meta-reason" for doing ANY of it. And DEI up the wazzoo. I've asked your same question over and over regarding Outposts to JUST as quiet a response. Game is a joke, and so is Bethesda.
I'll give you an answer. Fuck all. Same with the bases.
the gummi ship from kingdom hearts is more interesting than starfield space travel
You destroy other ships. This is one of those stupid things that if you think about it would realize how stupid it is.
Precisely.
If the game actually had space travel, like NMS or Elite, then it would be a wizz bang feature!
But it doesen't... like, at all.. so it's completely pointless. Yay!
Aaaaaand the monetization we all knew was coming has started to arrive. Next up, the Atomic Shop in space. Write it down. This is more evidence of my thesis that they eventually want to be able to quantify a per player hour revenue model on games. I got a premium copy of the game with a GPU I bought for my build.
I cant believe I used to fanboy over this company. #ugh
This monetisation for people who make mods and get something back.
It's there only hope ...really fleece the small user base hard , to generate at least some income , low unit sales , means high unit cost
Bs bethesda thaks the big part and they will kick out all mods that are not dei conform@@PatrickF.Fitzsimmons
@Mattblaze1477 I used to be a card carrying member of the Cult of Bethesda as well.
As I predicted before the game released., now we enter the phase where Bethesda will be charging for the basic features of a space game. Nickel and dime bounty hunting. Nickel and dime mining. Nickel and dime tourism and passenger missions. Nickel and dime the air you breathe if they could. Anything in Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, No Man's Sky and the X series will now be twisted to fit this loading screen simulator and sold to you a la carte. Don't buy them. Buy those games instead.
When Bethesda is fucking up so bad people recommend star citizen (I play SC)
@@drippnjimmy1033 I'm also a backer. I know the pain. I'll say this. With Star Citzien, at least CIG is being ambitious and failing. And when they actually put a feature in the game like salvage, they at least don't sell it a la carte. Purchases beyond the starter package are optional as you know. Bethesda just plain got beat or didn't even try. The first time I saw a Ghost and the modular ship builder, all I could think about was the Drake Cutlass variants. And Bethesda, the company with a prisoner fetish, couldn't even be bothered to put real bounty hunting into the game at launch. It was only a matter of time until they resorted to tying to sell the missing features of the game piecemeal.
Over a decade in development & still going, don't hear foo many horror stories apart from CryTek being rumped init. What engine is it now?
@@Chinga3000 Don't take this to the bank, but I believe it's still a highly customized fork of Lumberyard that CIG calls Star Engine. And Lumberyard is Amazon's version of CryEngine.
they know their current audience.
No need for creation club there is steam workshop. I think they thought this trough well and there intention was monetizing mods from the getgo.
Ya think?
Just a reminder that they tried monetizing the steam workshop once and that is the reason we have creation club now.
@@Lycrius Yeah, Valve learned from that fumble. Unfortunately Bethesda keeps trying it, and it's somewhat worked out for them. So many whales buying CC garbage for FO76, FO4, and Skyrim.
“Greedflation”
Somehow Bethesda finds a way to one up themselves with each sequencial release, at this point the next Elder Scrolls entry will just be a blank screen.
It would be ok if the modders got like 90% of the revenue, they spend a lot of time making them.
Yeah...they never learned from their horse armour mistake.
It's good to see there a real faces here, not some programmable robots, that are saying 'i'm not even going to review that'. RESPECT. Poop is just a poop. Poop stinks from a distance and that how you know it's a poop. Don't touch the poop;pp oh fuck me, where did this came from...
I have never paid for Creation Club content nor do I ever intend to. As for Shattered Space, maybe in a few years I might redownload Starfield and play it since I've already paid for it. Depends on the reviews.
I hope gamers learn the lesson and never pre order any game until it is out and reviewed.
I re-downloaded after every major patch since last year. May update helped a lot with technical and game play bugs but doesn't change how bad Starfield is. I wanted to like.
Wow they really named it "the vulture" too huh?
Or pay some dollars to put a digital plushie in your base. Or perhaps a ramen shop in Neon? Bethesda it's getting worse
I really don't mind the pay missions if they had more meat to them. Partly because I'm sure some modders will come along and use the system for their own creations. But my problem was just how breif the mission actually was. I beat it in like 20min. Def not worth $7, maybe $3
Not going to buy Starfield or it’s mods, but I appreciate the clarity about how they are going about their business.
So many scumbag tactics, feels like you can count the reliable studios on one hand now.
Well it dint work on Skyrim did it because half the mods are not even there now everybody went to nexus
I had hoped that once MS took over things would improve at Bethesda, but if anything, everything seems to have gotten worse. Oh, well no problem. I just won't buy any of their shit anymore.
Xbox went all in on live service focused crap and lots of microtransactions/dlc for years now. I don't get why people thought Xbox would fix Bethesda or Activision Blizzard.
@@Gruntvc Didn't know that since I only play PC games. Activision/Blizzard I boycotted the minute Bobby Kotick took over.
uh, does it look like we have money falling from the sky to give away? no we don't.
I really should uninstall any and ALL Bethesda games. They are not a company worth supporting these days. They are being really scummy.
I still have Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion installed But that's back when they were a real company. I'll never buy another Bethesda game.
They have published a lot of remakes of the good old classics, like Quake 1 and 2 and so on, but yes, they are scummy.
Would've rather gotten a remaster for Fallout 3 or especially Fallout New Vegas with all the dlc for both current consoles and pc.
Instead, we get this and dlc for Fallout 76. No money for you, Bethesda.
I think Todd may be in his villain arc. Maybe I shouldn't have been so mean to him...
I beat starfield but I’ll never go back to play it like Skyrim or all the fallouts.
F Bugthesda!!!
Its not bethesda, its xbox and phill spencer now to take the blame!!!
The reviews should trend to positive? What has Bethesda done since launch to earn positive reviews?
It’s horse armour all over again 😂
I guess BethesdaGS are now modders instead of game developers, only getting paid for said "mods"...
Started space
I'm embarrassed that I bought starfield
Bro that nostarsherefield defender make my day i LMFAO so much pause the vid and read it again for yourself its the funnies sh*t ever.ou no the company who bring us Fallout shellter and Fallout 76 are shady af greedy and lazy no way.
One of the biggest issues I have with this game is NO ADVANCED ALIEN Civilisations 🤦♂️ in a galaxy of over 1000 planets - when you say this the shills - just like an echo chamber - say ‘well erm it makes sense and is a realistic take on space’ 🙄🤦♂️ in a space game we want aliens ffs, how is it a realistic take - we don’t know what’s out there 🤷♂️🙈🤣 even Mass effect 1 had 12-13 ish alien species
But, but... how would the game maintain it's trademarked boringness if you added interesting aliens?! The player might feel some tinge of engagement with the game and setting if you did that, and that would break everything!
It was laziness through and through. Especially when SPACE MAGIC is in the game, they obviously didn't care about "realism." What Bethesda game is realistic? The fantastical elements were what made their games fun. Heck not only should sentient aliens been in the game, but they should've had playable alien species as well. But they couldn't be bothered to be creative. Like if you aren't going to make alien civilizations for your 1000 PLANET game, can you at least make the human factions interesting? Did Bethesda really think people playing characters with cowboy hats on in space would be cooler than some actual Alien civilizations with interesting lore?
@@Grobut81Break what?
StarCitizen really good rn wish I had access to a beast to experience it
Yes it is almost as bad as when Sony exclusives charge you 25 euros for a single bikini outfit set!
A bikini outfit, on a woman with a giant man jaw, extremely broad shoulders, and no houerglass figgure, booba or butt to speak of.
Now that's peak 2024 AAA gaming right there!
Astro Bot, Wu-Kong, and Doom. Every other game I've seen talked up recently at these showcases I could give a shit about. Disney Star Wars Outlaws and Assassins Creed Shadows (Both a whopping 149.99 CDN for the gold editions by the way) are 2 games especially that signify everything I despise about modern gaming.
Yup truly a scam! Thats why my 1000 free points went to verified creators instead of the bethesda mods. The bethesda mods are not getting a dime from me!
Listen I'll pay the company that releases a WORKING complete GAME orrrrr I'll pay the PEOPLE that FIX the CURRENT BROKEN, INCOMPLETE for ...YEARS "game". I'm not paying BOTH. I tend to lean towards the MODDERS, THEY do waaaaayyy better QUALITY ...WORK.
11:30 I am really mad about Fallout 4 DLC scenario because I learn how Bethesda abandons a game with a few DLCs. Fallout 4 has limitless potential but Bethesda never makes more DLCs for it. Instead they try to introduce Creation Club and then make Fallout 76.
So I know how Starfield will be treated. Starfield will probably have a few DLCs then be totally abandoned again. Bethesda never wants their products to be successful; they just want easy money.
I was stupid enough to preorder this game. They are getting NOTHING else from me.
Don't buy what you can't afford....
Best part of this is the videos that are going to pop up bashing Bethesda.. and rightfully so hehehehehehe
Stop calling them "micro". There's NOTHING micro about them . They have the POTENTIAL to make them MILLIONS / BILLIONS. Their PROFITS off of these easy, practically FREE MONEY TRANSACTIONS are NOT...micro.
True. The days of $1 and $2 DLC's are long over. Theystart at $5 now and can reath the $35 mark, and still be claimed as "micro transactions".
When you're asking me to pay 20 bux for a simple armor reskin, there's nothing "micro" about it. There are really good indie games on Steam that sell for the same, or even less, for the whole game.
Freeloader troll? I'll just spend my $7 on another game then. Wonder who's going to be left if people who actually have the money leaves.
Sharted space
0:19 is that FreshChat ?
Don't buy it?
Yeeeeah, Bethesda are basically EA at this point. This is cartoon villain levels of greed. Like, stupidly, pointlessly, self defeating levels of greed. Oh, plus EA's ineptitude and incompetence.
They’ll probably release a bunch of mediocre crap and then one worthwhile DLC to cap it off.
Tod stop smoking jet
But that skinthetic mod that crimson ship parts and that and one other mid 500 each are calling my name lol
The f'd up part is I never bought starfield been playing thru Xbox game pass using the cloud so I can't buy starfield credits to buy the 3 mods I'd use cuz I can't buy the game cuz I'm on Xbox on x lol oh well
I love how the fanboy steam forum post calls everyone else "trolls and haters" who are "incapable of fair, objective thought processes" 😂 ...oh the irony. Reminds me of the principal skinner meme ....Am I so out of touch? No.... It's the children who are wrong!
Your missing an even greasier point about selling DLC as a "mod" on their storefront. They are jyst being even more greedy, they don't want to pay Gabe, that's why it's not DLC on Steam.
Bethesda could just make good games. Oh right, that requires effort.
classic bugthesda 🙄
I wouldn't mind a £7 charge for a whole questline of the same scale as, say, Vanguard one. SCALE... and for it to be worth playing and more entertaining. But not for a single quest. That's just a complete rip-off. Unless the quest is the best and longest quest in the history of quests... rip-off. However, that would ONLY be true (about me not minding for a whole questline) if the base game was so thoroughly entertaining, well written, presented, AND COMPLETE ON LAUNCH, that it would then be worth it. Starfield is anything but that. Skyrim, I had no issue buying the three DLCs, including Hearthfire (which had no huge quests, just three new homes I could build). But I wouldn't purchase any further DLCs for Starfield. They need to completely correct their DEI woke nonsense in the base game, complete their base game - FOR FREE - before I drop another penny on this shite.
I'm loathed to even go back into this game to play Shattered Space when it drops, but I - too - was suckered into getting the premium game when it launched. Might as well at least PLAY it through once to get my money's worth out of it... and see how badly they mess this up too. I doubt it'll make the whole base game worth playing again, but I'll be happily surprised if they manage it.
Lmfao I wouldnt pay 7$ for the entire game of starFAILED
Thank the Gods i manage to refund this shit
Not to crush your dreams but there is a 0% chance that ES6 will be nearly as good as these massive modpacks for Skyrim everyone is now playing
I wouldn't play this DEI slop if it were a free game. Yuck.. 🤮
Youre a sheep
Starfield has some falws but can be fun for a while. But its lacking in many aspects of gameplay and its mid overall.
Exactly! I got given a free copy of Fallout 76 and all those woke DEI free things in the Atomic Shop are still there unclaimed, and will remain untouched.
Game Pass fodder in a nutshell. Starfield sold worse than previous non Day 1 Game Pass games.
Only porting Borefield to PS5 might increase sales numbers.
Meanwhile you never complain about the ff14 store.
maybe because FFXIV Mogstation is always, ALWAYS: optional. You do not buy quests or expansions off it. If you stopped dreaming about Xbox and looked at reality, you'd see that ESO and this quest are the same- scummy MTX tactics. Wake up
@@claudijatzandrapova3347 ffxiv is a monthly subscription. A realm reborn was $30, Heavensward was $40, storm blood was $40 and $50 if you wanted to skip the first two expansions! Shadowbringers was also $40, endwalker was also $40.
And how many times was there a mount or item that was only available from the mogstation which was advertised every single time by those who bought it.
How many $10 phial of fantasia have we and our friends bought this year already?
They’ve done worse 😂
There’s bots all over the internet defending this crap
Hate to inform u bud and rain on you’re parade but nobody is excited for whatever u would call the new dragon age game. Edit it looks ok just saw the gp. Who knows
Not sure why it was called game of the generation, but they go far beyond to protect avg games...starfield is nithing special..just like hellblade 2....its forgotten already
Why anyone would EVER buy anything from the creation club is beyond me. The free mods are 1000 percent better.
I uninstalled Starfield long ago and I have yet to see anything from Bethesda that makes me want to reinstall it.
I have zero hope for Indy or Elder Scrolls.
They've been like that since 06. Todd charging 20 a month for whatever fallout 76 service was weak as hell too
Elon Musk should buy Microsoft
Still holding out hope for.dragon age... The trailer sucked... Reminded me of the doom trailer with rap music.. Or the destiny commercial with the footbal player... These execs always ruin the marketing trying to be cool and hip and appeal to everyone.. Need to see the actual game
Bethesda suck at video games.
stop buying
I'd probably pay for removing all WOKE content
Dude you comment the same thing everywhere... WE GET IT YOU HATE WOKE.
We hate neck beard incels but we manage to keep our comments to ourselves.
Treadmill and do better.
That would probably be the best selling DLC ever created.
@@slashrocks19801 And would be banned by nexus. I wish there was a good alternative.
MS gamepass lol. Hey Xbox fans you stay getting robbed
starfield is not even worth buying
A pathetic low payment for some content works if all you're buying is one or two items, but when you talk about modding and having a load order in the hundreds or even just dozens, it adds up fucking quick. Then you've got the problem of incompatibility between mods, mods you paid for, which one do you stop using? The Creation Club killed any enjoyment I was having from modding Fallout 4, at least it came late enough that I was happy to uninstall the game, I got my money's worth.
Trial and error is a big part of modding, which mods work together, which ones to use and which ones do you delete, this isn't feasible when you have to for your mods. As much as Nexus has it's problems with deleting certain mods, they're much better than the alternative. I wonder If console players had a choice, would they still be supporting paid mods.
Its not a "store" are you new? Its literally a mod platform that provides a LOOT sorter and mod organizer FOR FREE regardless of if you toss them $7 or not for a mod, or use the free mods on their "mod organizer platform" for decades. PC players forget that people on console cant get free mods from Nexus, nor do some of them want to download a mod organizer, TESV, LOOT, pay a subscription to get their mods downloaded in a timely manner from the Nexus and download an animation engine like Nemesis, mess around with master files, then know how to run them all just to play with mods. Shame on Bethesda for wanting 7$ hoping players will toss them some change for making the process one click for console people. I believe in paying people for their work, including Bethesda for running the creation platform. Another click bait video from a creator trying to profit from hate watchers.
Here’s a crazy concept.. if $7 is too much money for you then don’t spend it.
That’s just the wrong attitude
The crazy concept is that you pay just to complete the game, something that Bethesda doesn't do. Now would you pay for these mods? If you pay for it, you're just further sinking the game's reputation.
While I hate this path that the industry is going for, unfortunately this is the players fault.
STOP BUYING THIS CRAP AND THEY`LL STOP MAKING IT.
Bethesda has always been trying to monetize mods, since the freaking horse armor, but people keep buying these things, Fallout 76 is making bank with $100 Fallout First subscription, the game was in a poor sorry state but people kept buying those overpriced items. Don`t buy it, Write a negative review, uninstall the game, and forget that it exists, but I know that won`t happen, as soon as the new DLC drops, people will flock to buy and play day-1, especially because this is a Gamepass title.
And I have to say it, if I was BGS, I would`ve done the exact same thing, since it makes money with little to zero effort. Yeah a few loud-minority is going to complain online, but I`m still making boatloads of money so who cares.
I'm starting to seriously wonder if guys like this are being paid by Star Citizen or somebody. Is someone funding all of these Starfield review bombs? The game is one of the best I've ever played, going all the way back to the days Atari. It launched very poorly and then fixed so many things that it's not even reasonable to call Starfield a "lousy game" anymore. Furthermore, to complain about spending $7 on something which you knew cost $7 because you wanted to spend the $7 is mind boggling to me. These purchases are not forced on the players. These purchases are not pay walls that restrict you from accessing anything crucial to the overall gameplay. There are far more free mods than paid mods. These kinds of paid mods are not unique to Bethesda, nor are they a new concept to gaming. Are these Starfield review bombers actually Kotaku sympathizers or something? I truly, genuinely do not understand all the negativity.
Well Tencent(🇨🇳) did own BG3. A super buggy animal pfffforno chess simulator with 170+ hours of cut scenes. Surely they didn't have hundreds of bots up voting their game.
Most of the review bombers against starfield are ponies, ufo investors, and pure rwcists
So you guys know that there are free mods and the creation kit just released right? Have none of you turned on a Bethesda game in a long time? These are paid mods. If the creator of the mod didn’t make more money by putting it on Creation Club then getting money on patreon they wouldn’t do it. I feel like you guys really just want to crap on Bethesda
Waste of time video, don't buy if you don't want and that's it.
if you play this crap game, you get exactly what you deserve
i bought it, love starfield. They can charge what they like and you can say no.
Aren't you Special
mark
What is wrong about this?
Gamers keep whining, but Gamers keep supporting these practices by Bethesda/EA/Blizzard and many more. Gamers are getting what they support.
Oh my, made a woke shit game & nobody buys it?
*Going woke, going broke*
I looked for a brief second, yes I was dumb & bought Starfield day one (cause I loved Bethesda stuff since Oblivion).
And good lord is the CC bad. It's the same shitty mess that broke Skyrim modded play for me. My Skyrim modding days on Xbone X died the day that update was released. Bethesda & M$ heavy handed banning 6 year old mods & wrecking all my old saves.
The CC on Starfield is exactly the same mess. Bethesda is intentionally hiding their content which is paid & mods which disable achievements right next to each other. Heaven for bid if mods ever come out that make Starfield worth playing Bethesda will just ban those from Bnet.
