Thank you so much. This wasn't exactly what I needed, as I had to work with a splitter, but with your instructions I was able to work it out through trial and error. I appreciate it, and I'm sure my gaming group will appreciate it, too, now that they don't have to deal with my horrible microphone lmfao
What do I do if only one works at a time? When I'm using my headphones and I plug in my mic I can no longer hear. Same thing goes for the other way around, what do I do?
It says that my microphone isn’t plugged in but it is. When I use my microphone with anything else like my Xbox or my phone it works. I’m so confused can someone please help.
This video isn’t formatted to fix any issues, I do have others that might be better suited. Either way, it shouldn’t affect any other microphone unless you’ve set the wrong one as the default or disabled it
when i started the video, my headphone started making sounds, and the pc didn't make a sound, i put the headphone on and realized that it was already working, thanks for helping me though xd
Okay read this. Earlier when i used to plug my headphones in any of the port (mic/headphone) both mic and headphones worked but that's not the case anymore. Both don't work at same time.

I've got a tricky one... My headphones are plugged into an HDMI bridge between my monitor and my laptop because the audio receptor on the last one it's loosy. How can I enable the headphones (and it's mic)? Because the system recognize the monitor audio software but not the extention (in this case the headphones). Thank you! Hello i have a sony headphone with built in mic i have a new HP Pre-Built PC it has a jack which has both mic and speaker icon winodows isnt detecting the mic please help me
My problem is when I connect my headphones, they work perfectly. The problem is its microphone. It used to work perfectly but now it doesn't. The microphone appears as "not connected" when it is connected. Does anybody have a solution?
After an hour, best I can offer is output audio to desktop speakers and input thru earphones (actually any form of speakers will do, device just gets "reversed" to receive). Like, setting up a cheap headset is quite terrible when the matter is pretty simple.

I really need an answer for this question, can your microphone work without and activated windows???
I am not 100% sure, although I guess it would. Best way to check would be to try more than one microphone too see if they both have the same problems.
