The corsair feels like bringing the party to you. Bossing just looks like a cluster of fun once you get a pattern going. But I can imagine the pirates life isn't for everyone.
Such an underrated class. Most training spots you can afk for 45 sec at a time. Since we all use erda fountain anyways every class has to replace summons every 60 sec which is the duration for corsairs summons as well. So place down 4 summons afk for about 45 seconds, use your 3 fmas while replacing summons. So easy. Bossing is a bit more annoying with the summons, but honestly pretty easy burst rotation and so satisfying pressing brain scrambler and death trigger. Also 30 sec cd and bodyguards that take abnormal statuses and stuns in your place that you can refresh every 45 sec.
Corsair does have a lot of things to manage, but I love the chaos. Being a Corsair is like having your own battalion! I honestly didn't know we were so unpopular, it makes me want to push to 250 even harder! :) I do miss my octopus buddy though.
Lv262 corsair main here! Haven't played maple in months now, but I really loved the skill aesthetics and managing all the skills/buffs helped to keep my head occupied during the mindless grinding lol
I remember long time ago right before pirates got released in kms. There were early footage of gunslingers having a partner that followed that and did the same spells as the player did, exact like shadow partner works. Thats probably also why pirates 3rd job instuctor boss makes a copy of themself, cus it was suppose to be a thing. Idk what the video was Called ive tried to find it since. Might have been cool but then they would be even more nightlords copy
I’m stickin with Corsair for life as my main. The dumbest thing I ever did was spend 10 bil on a starforce event for an absolab overall when I returned from a 7 year hiatus lol. Didn’t realize overalls were useless
Bullet barrage was the skill that both lured me into trying corsair and kept me enjoying it the most after trying it. It is so fun that they even made an event based around the skill so everyone can try it haha. Target lock is also awesome, love corsair's v-skills.
@@Jakerunio I also love bullet barrage and it made me really enjoy corsair. It's just long enough at 12 seconds to run across a map and back 1 time. At 6 seconds it will be completely neutered for mobbing, which is 99% of my time spent playing.
I made a Corsair boss mule that retired from training around lv 232. She clears up to Lomien easily. The combination of short CD + crewmates absorbing statuses make some bosses super free. Nodes are definitely the biggest barrier to entry. I made her on burning world, so reg server mob HP, but small economy and limited amount of nodestones. I didn't get perfect trios until she could move to Bera and finally access cheap nodes from the AH. It's funny how impactful brain scrambler is. A lot of times, it feels like a more important bossing skill than even rapid fire.
YES! The series I didn't know I needed! I love it, keep it up! I leveled a Corsair to 220 during Destiny because since pre-big bang, I've loved the concept and unique identity of a gun-wielding pirate in maple. However, I knew the class had a couple summons, but I didn't know how much effort I felt I needed to boss and even mob efficiently...Honestly, the only time I was enjoying Corsair was when I was jumping around mobs with bullet barrage...afterwards I would barely scrape by with my main mobbing skill and summons. The class is cool, but I guess I realise I prefer having a main mobbing skill that I can just jump around and spam and that is sufficient enough. Anyways...if this is a series, I hope you enjoy blaze wizard..!
I would love to play Corsair if it wasn't for one thing: the delay after using eight-legged-easton. You can't immediately move or jump like you can with other classes. It feels really awful.
In a way, corsair represents a great majority of the things I don't like in a class in rpgs: firearms, summons, more skills that need to find a place on the keyboard. It could only be worse by being a support class and/or require blaster level comboing/animation cancelling.
I hyper burnt my corsair and was pretty happy with it, very good at bossing; having a hidden superstance and very high damage uptime(expect for like p2 Lucid) and obviously has very good map clearing potential. But this was my first time playing a summon based class and I found it quite tedious having to cycle the map every minute to resummon stuff. I did manage to find a very lazy rotation at Moonbridge though, where after placing my summons I can just hold down rapid fire in one spot and get fairly decent rates.
i got one up to 208 and i have to say, i haven't played any other class that just randomly drops dead like i did on corsair. idk why but even with auto hp i feel like i wold just randomly get one shot for no reason. The summons don't last quite as long as you'd like so you have to constantly replace them, brain scrambler feels great to use but it's kind of annoying having to keep track of it during boss fights. there is an awkward delay on rapid fire that doesn't feel good and the range is too short for no reason just so they could give you a hyper skill to increase it.
current main being corsair(switched from bucc) when talk about bossing , corsair is just okaaaaay level mobbing side, corsair is just insane ,i'd say top tier in reboot the summons are just too strong and makes training so cozy in some maps (like PD5 in sellas,LH2 LH6 in moonbridge,EotW2-5 in Limina) ,all i need to do is open Netflix ,get something to watch and put summons every minute. the summons just clear the whole map
ye corsair is the fastest class in the game other than illium and f/p to 260. Buccaneer is stronger in bossing, but kinda boring. corsairs a lot more fun.
I remember classic Maplestory when the Corsair was the least class to still be used, it had no resistance to stuns, ranged class and it wasn't until the 4th job advancement where they actually shine. it was a lot of work to do with it and grinding with it was the absolute worse.
These are good videos copper! Instead of guides or zero to hero or the usual videos something like this! Pick a topic and make a little documentary style video for maple... love it all!!
For me this is a case of the class looks cool and plays well but you need to invest so much into it to be competitive with other good classes + the annoyance of all the summoning skills that I dont really want to deal with to be honest. Loads better than what the corsair was at though, I hope Nexon reworks the % damage on the skills a bit or adds some more lines to some skills. Nice video for an underrepresented class, thanks coppersan :)
They are one of the top damage classes currently, Nexon most likely wont be giving them more damage any time soon and they don't really need to. Maybe at most shift some of their power over to the summons
I love these style of videos good points brought up I decided to main mech recently as a returning player and i definitely notice a lot of the same pain points but my gosh once you get funded to have summons one shot best class in game worth the investment imo
I’m working on getting the glass bullet on mine still after that it will be on the list for my lvl250 classes my next one is zero and I’m gonna do angelic buster after that and when hyper burn rolls around I’m burning my hyato
I think you missed one very important point. Not only you have to set all your summons manually for every single boss (wich get annoying as a main and a bossing mule), but if you die all of your summons disappear and you have to set them all up again. The fact that summons disappear on this game is so annoying for all classes
I created a Corsair as a secondary when it came out and loved it. Still love it but its taken a back seat for my main and I hope to go back to it soon.
I was maining a Corsair which is 232 but even after Destiny I found an issue still; Way too many buffs and summons and not enough keys. Even with 3 pets. Damage feels underwhelming still too
I made a corsair and got it to 200 in the hope the legion effect applies to Illiums robots and/or gate as well. Not sure if I want to play it to 250 yet. Sounds like quite alot of time for not that much more benefit
I loved Corsair. Never got it to 120 Pre-Big Bang on Maplestory or private servers, but Post-Big Bang I loved it. Used to play on Extalia and Corsair was hands down my favorite class with Octo-Cannon, Eight-Legged Easton, the original crewmate summon, and Double Dice (Weird it only had 600 uses though). But it felt weak. Paladin was my 2nd favorite though, was surprised by that one.
I moved from Bucc to Corsair for a few days and it was fun but I honestly hated dealing with the summons. Went back to Bucc, they should make the summons at least the crewmates similar to Buccs Lord of the Deep where it stays on
Рік тому+1
6 boost nodes are just too much. They need to merge some of them into one. Every class should only need 4 nodes.
Corsair was my main for a good while, more than Night Lord. I still loved the class before the Destiny update and this update has made them ten times even better. I might not be maining it for awhile since I main Kinesis now: but it's up there and it's underrated
where can i download maplestory on pc? im new to this i downloaded the mobile but im curious about the pc version since some class are not available in mobile
Corsair takes a bit of effort with the summons, but the attacks feel so satisfying, I'm getting all my characters to at least 140 for legion, so I get to try them out.
Start playing a phantom recently, trying to steal some explorer skills, for the pirate branch, for me is, buccaneer everywhere, Corsair every now and then, nvr seen a cannoneer till now, so you should do a video, why no one plays cannoneer
Huh, that's very interesting. Despite the biggest nerf (removal of both cool identity and iconic characters such Eight-Legs Easton), I thought that this class is really good. Good, but with less personality. Very interesting it turned out like this. It's also interesting that Cannoneer is right after. I hope that Brawler is doing better, at least...? :D I'd love more videos like this! That's a very interesting topic to cover, and I don't think you're in a shortage of options. At least for now. :)
I mained cannoneer before I quit and the reason it's so unpopular is simply because it requires some of the highest investment of any job in the game, even more than dual blade. Finding the fight trio is insanely rare and nodestone expensive, and cannoneer also scales extremely hard with ATT lines and star forcing, alongside having extremely low attack speed and basically demanding attack speed +1 inner ability, resulting in most people not bothering due to the meso costs. It also really is just quite weak when it comes to bossing. It at the very least has wonderful mobility and mobbing potential once you're funded, but why play cannoneer when you can just play buccaneer and do everything better.
@@Ohhsoodead Yeah, agreed to all of it. If it's very demanding for a mediocre at best reward, why even bother? Well, some may for various reasons, but the player that wants to be efficient would rather play someone with a better reward and possibly lower effort given. :D
here's my issues its a summoner not a gunslinger i would love a pure gun based class with bullets galore but as far as i know there is non, i was hoping kali would actually be a pirate class that only used bullets since as far as i can recall it has been sometime since the last pirate class but oh well
To summarize: Maplers prefer brain dead grinding, not having to think. As someone with a pair of Corsairs out of spite, I can say Corsair's actually fun.
I honestly think an actual full Gunslinger class that uses 2 Pistols / Magnums / Desert Eagles or something of the sort and uses flips and spins and more flashy firing of their guns and isn't about pirtates but rather **Thieves** would feel better AND become much more popular than Sair. Make it like "Agent" or "Hitman" or "Gun Specialist" or something like that. I think summons ruin the whole "OH COOL GUNSLINGING" playstyle badly and shouldn't be put on a class that's about slinging a gun. Why do I need to play a summoning mini-game to just fire off guns? I feel like they could strike gold with a purely gun oriented class (look at stuff like Dungeon & Fighter / Dungeon Fighter Online where the Gunner / Female Gunner classes are REALLY popular there due to how flashy their guns and many weapons they wield are.)
i hate the debuff, it's annoying to use and any boss with more than 1 piece might screw that up, it would help if the %fd was passive so the skill works as support. The Target Lock really could be more visible, there are too many lines and effects to see most of the time, i wish it was blue so i could easily find it.
prob cuz they still feel so squishy and I really hate summoning skills. Also why I don't like the flower summoning class released recently because I can't be arsed to follow flowers every 30 sec
Corsair feels really good while mobbing but I can understand why ppl don't main ot when you can main something like illium instead which is just way better as a summon class
100% Agree, I started with this class after coming back from a long break. And quickly dropped it, due to summon early game damage, and boss fight management. Just seems like too much effort, for average payout.
I love corsair, pirate, gunslinger classes in mmos. Unfortunately it always seems like corsairs are always unpopular (mainly bdo and maplestory). They have really cool skills but they need to use their entire kit while other classes press 1 button for the same amount of dmg
After watching: ah, I get it. It's the same problem my other favorite classes like Battle Mage and Hayato have: nodes and watching cooldowns. I love having tons of skills, personally, but without them all having to combo them into each other (like cadena) but boy do you get punished by the v-matrix mechanics especially on reboot. I really think nexon needs to make nodes more accessible especially early in 5th job because reboot players especially as well as new or low-funded players have it really hard early on. Reboot especially feels tough because it makes leveling alts past 200 so much harder than on regular servers. But idk maybe that is just my opinion since I only recently moved to reboot.
Just make the summons last way longer, and this class will be much better to play. Having to replace summons constantly is a huge pain (this goes for every class). If the summons lasted 600 seconds, just like say magic guard, the amount of maintenance would be significantly less. In an ideal world though the summons should not even have a duration.
Corsair is like, sleeper OP atm imo. It's actually in incredibly strong class, that's kind of flying under the radar because of how up front powerful Dawn Warrior/Hero/Shadower/FP are.
Long time corsair main here, to sum everything up corsair sucks as a low level bossing mule but shines when given investment for later game content: 1. Mobbing as a corsair is bad early when summons one shot but once you have enough damage its akin to old kanna farm especially in smaller maps like limina’s 1-5, 2-5. 2. Corsair’s survivability is super underrated. 30s on demand 2s + 2 status resists per scruvy cast (super valuable in bosses like gloom/darknell, heck even in lotus you can tank 2 stuns from debris per scruvy cast). Wings + recoil shot means insane mobility options as well (use macro’d recoil for faster cast) 3. Summons are no longer as difficult to micromanage since everything is on a 1 minute summon duration. 4. Sure, corsair’s damage is rather spread out between skills but stuff like naut strike/ugly bomb is no longer relevant and we don’t require comboing, just standard cd tracking for bossing. 5. Being a summon class just means free damage uptime for players without hands. The only criticism for this class is that it is kind of a hurricane class. (Remove 0 AS!!!)
I just started playing again after not touching this game in like a decade and eventually decided to pick buccaneer over corsair. Might end up making both.
I'm a Buccaneer main and I switched to train as Corsair. Also did my weekly bossing as one. (Lv. 276-280) The class is amazing it's ridiculous how underplayed it is. One of the best mobbers in the game, and has great damage output. I guess the playstyle just isn't for everyone.
buccaneer was one of the most boring classes in the game for me. While Corsair is one of the most fun. its not apm heavy, all the skills actually has a use. Summoners aren't too bad. i just put them on number keys. corsairs mobbing skill is ridic tho. SS tier mobbing Imo.
I remember pre first reworked explorers players used to say. "Why make an Archer when u can make a corsair?" And "why make a corsair when u can play a nightlord?" Corsairs always feelt like that "meh" class, thats always been in the unkown tier. They dont feel uniqe either, they feel like a worse nightlord. And they have useless summonings, ive never understood WHY pirates have summonings? They have Always felt like archers and nightlords combined but weaker and less special
Supongo que más que nada porque no es tan vistoso como el otro pirata, el Captain. De la lista los que más me sorprende su baja popularidad son el Cannonner y el Kain, me parecían buenos jobs.
Inspired by @VarsVerum his content (you might know him from his maplestory days)
Oh, that's why it reminded me of something. :D

I just hit 250 on my Corsair. My first ever 250 and I have been playing for 15+ years. I love the class so far.
what level are you now?
The corsair feels like bringing the party to you. Bossing just looks like a cluster of fun once you get a pattern going. But I can imagine the pirates life isn't for everyone.
I've been binging these sort of "Why no one/everyone plays" videos and I think this has a lot of potential for Maplestory too

Also why I don't like the flower summoning class released recently because I can't be arsed to follow flowers every 30 sec
hey thanks for making great content even though I stopped play like 8 years ago
Corsair feels really good while mobbing but I can understand why ppl don't main ot when you can main something like illium instead which is just way better as a summon class
I was just about to make a Corsair, stop reading my mind.
Would love to see one about Kanna? I enjoyed getting it to 140 but people are saying its not worth going beyond.
With the kishin nerf theyre not op anymore. However theyre still a great mobber ans bosser.
@@danielmorris5470 completely false
100% Agree, I started with this class after coming back from a long break. And quickly dropped it, due to summon early game damage, and boss fight management. Just seems like too much effort, for average payout.
This is a cool series!
Why NO ONE Plays Mercedes
I think...I'm going to make one now.
I love corsair, pirate, gunslinger classes in mmos. Unfortunately it always seems like corsairs are always unpopular (mainly bdo and maplestory). They have really cool skills but they need to use their entire kit while other classes press 1 button for the same amount of dmg
Es el reto , ser pirata 🦜 no es para todos ❤
Tbh, in maple M I too also reroll to dark knight because before remaster the damn boat just don’t turn haha
which server should I join if I want to try maple story now ?
Before watching and hearing why, I have to say that I really like corsair. I am surprised that it doesn't see a ton of play. Can't wait to hear why.
It's actually in incredibly strong class, that's kind of flying under the radar because of how up front powerful Dawn Warrior/Hero/Shadower/FP are.
lowkey there is a low amount of cosairs 250+ because they respeced to bucc for bit or forever
Good video coppersan
Funny how Coppersan managed to make this content for maplestory before Vars did lol
Long time corsair main here, to sum everything up corsair sucks as a low level bossing mule but shines when given investment for later game content:
Wings + recoil shot means insane mobility options as well (use macro’d recoil for faster cast)
Don't worry lad I've been a longer veteran of the corsair that actually has my best SW gun that WILL NEVER BOMB & I will SF it it to MAX eventually !
Ff7 music?
i got a 260 corsair main and just got the glass marble. Haven’t found a class yet i like better
Because they remove the spirit of cosair-battleship
I just started playing again after not touching this game in like a decade and eventually decided to pick buccaneer over corsair. Might end up making both.
I'm a Buccaneer main and I switched to train as Corsair. Also did my weekly bossing as one. (Lv. 276-280)
The class is amazing it's ridiculous how underplayed it is.
SS tier mobbing Imo.
why no one plays corsair: "they have to think where to place their summons"
I remember pre first reworked explorers players used to say. "Why make an Archer when u can make a corsair?" And "why make a corsair when u can play a nightlord?"
Corsairs always feelt like that "meh" class, thats always been in the unkown tier. They dont feel uniqe either, they feel like a worse nightlord. And they have useless summonings, ive never understood WHY pirates have summonings? They have Always felt like archers and nightlords combined but weaker and less special
The reason is because Pirates are supposed to have a crew, which is where the summon idea came from.
NL and corsair are night and day different classes, it's like comparing nightlord to Lara or Hayato.
Supongo que más que nada porque no es tan vistoso como el otro pirata, el Captain.
De la lista los que más me sorprende su baja popularidad son el Cannonner y el Kain, me parecían buenos jobs.
100 Node stones... and the damage was that low?!? Idk Level 10 Hyper stat arcane for go crazy.
more like this please!
cooldown and duration of summon skill is the problem. they should add more duration and remove the cooldown
I decided to play Maple with a controller and Corsair allows me to do that, i just sit back in my recliner and retarget ;)
I don't play mine because the keyboard layout is HORRENDOUS VILE. They have more skills than any other job, maybe tied with FP
240 Corsair ... maybe i cant kill all bosses but i love my main :'3
summons should have zero cast time/animation; it's the often stopping to summon that irks people imo
I love corsairs so much, i been a main forever, that being said, hsve you seen corsairs pre red lol imagine mobbing like that in 2023
I just wanted to run around and shoot things instead i have to manage summons
I stopped playing when they took away my octo buddies :c
For me it was too much to micro manage, which is not a bad thing but I kinda like maple and chill haha
i farmed a corsair at lh6
15k kills almost par with shadower
fun class to play!
That's not much, you can get full clear with sair
Corsairs used to have the highest DPS next to NL’s back in the days 😢
