I did not have to run any trim tabs since the prop and lower unit gear ratio is larger than most outboard engines out there. The boat got up on step fast and I would recommend a Honda 150 BF to anyone who wants a fuel-efficient motor.
I sold the Smoker Craft. I liked the boat very much. The fit and finish on the Alumacraft and overall driving style was better for me when taking out more people on the boat.
