The only thing more impressive than the pace of the repair is the quality and timeliness of your reports. Excellent reporting, many thanks from Vancouver Island.

Wow! Amazing real time footage and reference to the damage done to the Coquihalla--and that's just a small part of it. Mother Nature changing the map for us. Thank you so very much for your exceptional work showcasing your first hand experiences of this history-making catastrophe.

Thanks for the current state of the highway. Instead of individual shots of the damage, this drive of the road and coupled with the sites really brings home the extent of the devastation, the areas that still need work, and the places that are passable now. You give credit regarding the logistics involved including the sources of material to get everything repaired especially at the non-stop speed that the workers are maintaining to connect the province. Keep recording more for BC history. Cheers to all

Excellent video, thank you! I know the flooded locations very well, as a frequent driver on the Coquihalla. I had planned to drive up into the interior for Christmas. Now I'm stuck here in Vancouver. Thankfully UA-cam has great people like you who take the time to download videos like this so the general public can see what's happening. I wish the BC government would do the same, but they don't. It's extremely interesting to see what's going on, and how hard the road crews are working to get things back to as normal as possible. Hopefully we will never see another event like this again in out lifetimes!

Really got to hand it to you guys/ family for amazing and comprehensive video of the roadworks and progress for us viewers in other parts of our great nation of Canada. What you have done is made things so much easier for us to see, get bearings on previous videos. The views from above put it all into perspective. I, for one was seriously disturbed when this news originally broke about the slides and flooding. I think your family deserves a commendation for the work you have done. Thank you from Manitoba!

The fact that the MoT plans to have the Coq open for essential traffic Hope to Merritt on Monday is just absolutely mindblowing. I know the repairs aren't permanent but holy crap they threw a lot of work at it to at least to get the road usable.

Thanks for the videos. I drove the Coquihalla on opening day, and many times a year to get to and back from our Cabin, on a lake just north of Kamloops. (My buddy Rick and I drove it the year before it opened as an adventure in his Datsun pickup to start out our fly fishing trip.) So I know it quite well. (The "checkerboard" landmark you refer to, was a Telus / BC Tel anchor point for their "chairlift" up to a microwave relay station, which Rick had to use donkey years later when he was on their service crew.) Your video gives great details of the damage - vastly superior to the local Vancouver Media with their Helicopters, and "professional" reporters. Too bad you didn't get all the way to Merritt as I expect the Coldwater river did some damage too. Thanks again for the effort.

Well as usual, you folks have out done yourselves. The extent of the damages & obstacles you face were beyond comprehension. You Canadians stood up to this challenge, took the Bull by the Horns & said "Yes" to Motor Nature. You took this challenge & worked day & night to get the "Coke" back open. It is a testimony to the Ministry, the Citizens of BC, Kiewit International, all the locals that supported this task of the rebuild along with all the construction companies. A big "Job well Done" to all who completed this task for all citizens of Canada.

Thanks, I find your videos very interesting as I know the area from working on the original highway through that area with EAC. Also worked on flood damage caused from flooding back in the '90's. The power of the Coq. in flood is substantial. This past flood damage is far greater than the last one in the '90's.

Hands down the best reporting, video, real world, comprehensive work ever. I have read the comments below and all say the same thing - brilliant work. I can't add anything more except that this is a series so compelling, so well done, that you could actually make a TV program of 1 hour and sell it to the networks, it is that good. Better than any of the news media shots, not even in the same league. This is like being there, compelling, addictive, can't put it down story.
Why? Because it is real world people, in real time, optimistic, cheerful, never say die, we will get through this and full of smiles and hope in the face of absolute destruction and misery. That is so damn rare. You just don't see it. I saw the Sumas Prairie videos and they were raw, the sadness and suffering, the struggles, the drama, . . . But nothing of the kind of optimism that is here - that is the difference.
I think you guys have given us all a reason to believe. It is not the doomsdayer, the sad moments, the drama queen stories, but instead, one of those kinds that gets all of us rooting for you, we are on board, we will be there with you. That is powerful stuff. And completely natural, un rehearsed, non acting, good guys - all of you. Knowhatimean? Don't stop!!!!
    Dave
