Forester/logger for 50 years in New England: rare to see someone know exactly how to fell a tree correctly,AND he knows why it works. Trained somewhere.
Anything I would mention has already been pointed out, but I will say those drone shots sure add a dimension to your videos, both figuratively and literally.
well, just an idea you could put an animal camera at Othello Tunnels I'm sure you'd get a lot of youtube visitors, just to keep an eye out if they do decide to take out the old train tunnels, the tunnels do have a ton of history and should be a historical landmark, Great video of falling of trees.
I just drive by as you uploaded this vid. They are making progress up there but holly smokes what a friggin mess. Looks like it’s keeping you busy too on your property
really enjoy your updates (I'm located in Ontario). I have been following with great interest the repairs going on Hwy 8 from Merritt to Spencer Bridge, which has been the most damaged section of highway from the floods. It is amazing what has been done there in temporary repairs. Just wish somebody like the SteBros lived on there to give us updates.
Beautiful property and homes! What an idyllic setting in which to live. Very informative video and entertaining at the same time. Continue to be impressed at the scale of the destruction. Who cleans this up I wonder? Wrecked cars and debris. Fire danger don't you think?
The whole area is supposed to be a big lake.. pumps have been going over 50 years to keep it from filling back up.. I’ll let you know when the name comes to me.. or if someone else can chime in here?
Yah the falling is all sexy, but then there's the 2-3 days of clean up. Chipping, chopping and sweating. Really nice views and drone shots. Great vid work. Thanks!
Hemlock is dirty rotten wood here on the island, when they are healthy they're fine, but many a faller has been fooled by poor wood on an outside slab that fell away. Good work boys. You can slope your front undercut a little if you wish to help guide that tree a little more, being careful not to cut through the holding wood on the back cut. Your wedges will move a lot of weight, if you leave a little room you can keep sawing and tighten your wedges, ( providing the diameter is big enough ) don't need to bang them very hard, they will move the tree. Always love to see a new video and find out what you are up to !!
I’ve got an arborist who has been working with our trees since we put them in. I’ll ask him about that hemlock rot and see what he thinks. It was weakened so you guys are lucky it didn’t come down. Great drone footage of the area.
Well we see the tunnels what do you THINK will they re open the park and trail ?? Love every thing you show looks like a true labor of Love for you doing this .and thank you .🏆
Fantastic job boys! Sounded like a stihl saw going there! Now the work begins with the clean up! Great drone footage also stay safe and keep the videos coming! 👍
Oh NO! Nice job - Let's build a cabin in the woods they say, have the shade trees keep the sun at bay - then along comes a forest fire & whoosh - having survived one nasty bush fire I wouldn't want those hemlocks within falling distance of my cabin either. Nice felling job - yup that flood caused a lot of headaches - DO you think they'll ever get in & clear the debris, like the cars, from the river or is it just impossible?
Could you guys film yourselves using your mill next time it is in action? I'm curious about what kind of volume it can handle. True BC family you guys are
@@als1023 well I also thought the same but since I’ve not ever burnt it in a wood stove I asked google lol. They say it’s the best so I claim ignorance 👉🙋♂️
Lol y'all need to clear at least 35 meters to keep the trees from crushing your houses, it looks like y'all going to be busier than a beaver with all them trees y'all cut down, but I wouldn't burn any pine wood in my house jmo
@@SteBros @AdventuresRUs walked through from other side soon after the flood. Not blocked, but enough damage that they might not reopen. ua-cam.com/video/DFLQmPEVoio/v-deo.html

Great saw work and awesome drone shots of the action.
You just got another sub from B.C.
Great drove videos! Love the zoom back as the tree fell.
Whoever took that drone shot at 7:00 , hats off to you, very well timed and just barely cleared those tree branches. Great flying

It would be a shame to lose any of the tunnels. Such history in that area.....thank you for keeping us up to date!
Fantastic video...great to watch expert tree felling..thoroughly enjoyed it!!!!
SteBros living the dream in the Coquihalla valley! Filming floods, clearing trees like August Hunicke… great video guys!
Loved the drone views. Good vid 👍🏼. 🍻
Buckin billy ray would be proud of your tree cutting
Love the turtle rock over the bear shot from the drone.

Outstanding end clip.
Nice work guys!!!
Expert level drone work! Great video as always
it is unreal how high the water got in that narrow little canyon.

Nice work ! That's some precision falling right there. Love how the limbs of the tree close to the shed just rolled up and away from the shed.
That is a nice hinge.
Thanks for the update and your personal adventures
I’m so glad we got to visit there before they were destroyed.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. 🍻

What a fantastic place you live. Coming from an Alberta flatlander.
Spring cleaning looks good 👍🏼 🌲 God Bless 🙏🏼
Nice drone shots of the tunnels, the excavator at the tunnel is a good sign.
Beautiful country!
Wow that was awesome 😎
Fabulously entertained with this video! Awesome
Whoooooo! THAT was some awesome footage! TOP marks!
Great vid.
Very impressive!!

I wonder how many cars went over those washed out bridges that we don’t even know about.
Pretty country & really rugged
Incredible drone footage
Sooooo glad you guys are back😉🇨🇦
There go the hammock trees . . . Did you leave some trees for the swing?
Very cool drone footage ❣️
Did a bug fly in your mouth, LoL 🪰

You ok? You gonna make it partner?
Lots of hemlock on the island looks fine but inside it's rotting. Sooke, BC
I'm a gold miner and at 2;42 MK to 2;53mk outside bend ...look at all that black sand, wow I would love to hit that at low water...

What does Johnny Depp say when falls a tree?
TIM-BUR!-ton
do you guys ever gold pan that river?
Hemlock is some great stove burning wood and it smells super.
I disagree, it's the worst crap you can find on the coast, almosy anything is better here.

You could have done a bore cut to check for rot. Cedar rot is fairly common.
.. Cheers ..
Not sure if I missed it.
No one in the car?
Are the tunnels closing?
👍
Beautiful footage but still a scary time. Seeing what’s left of a camper, so sad 😞 So many people lost so much. ❤️🩹
Surprised the guy on the chainsaw never got anyone killed

So are the tunnels actually blasted shut?? You never did answer that
No It appeared they weren’t, but we were unable to enter because of the construction.

Covid? When I got mine I was coughing razor blades :-( .
3:15… one of the few times on UA-cam that I have hoped nothing “exciting happens”.
I would like to hear a different music, your sound track doesn't go with a beautiful peaceful scenery .
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
