Yeah I remember those phones too. Stretching them to my room or even the bathroom 🤣😂😂😂. Nifty idea but I never find them here. I have family in southern California so maybe I will get my sister looking for them 😉
Yep I remember those old rotary phones. Ours was a black one which was the only color they came in at the time. It was such a new invention when they came out with those push buttons. And then to have a cordless handset wow that was really high tech back then. I think you and I are the same age Debbie so I can relate.

I like the can project. I like the retro looking canned goods at the dollar tree. I use the pinespple can and the spinach can to hold markers and crayons for my daycare kids. Spinach Can has a picture of Popeye on it

I love the Mexican salsa cans. And of course the other two projects. Regarding the telephone; I would have a hard time throwing or even dismantling an item. Need to work on repurposing.
Yeah I am with you I have a hard time taking things apart like that it just feels wrong somehow. Or painting over something especially wood feels wrong. But it can look awesome too.

Need to sand that plastic surface on phone first. Cute ideas. I bought one of those retro phones for our office in the bright ugly yellow color, Lol. Of course we never use it, it's just for looks.

When painting plastic like storage bins, do i follow what you did w that phone? So the last step, Big Top wax, will stop paint from peeling & scratching on plastic?
yes, remember with plastic to put on one coat let it dry ( over night if possible) then the second coat, let it dry then a top coat. If you can give the plastic a light sand that helps too.

why are you using a stencil brush to paint surfaces?
and the phone cord wouldnt stay nice it would get all backwards and twisted the wrong way and we would pull and pull and pull on it while we were talking on it to try to straighten it out 🤣🤣🤣

It's interesting how you chose not to paint over or decorate the tin cans. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'm torn I have mixed feelings
I always laugh when I see people's so-called scrap wood. To me that's not scrap wood. To me scrap wood is teeny tiny pieces that are only usable for the fire because they're they're so tiny you can't use them for anything else. And I've even been known to use those pieces. So that's what I think of when I think of scrap wood. I made a really cool shelf out of a piece of pallet wood and off cuts from a cutting board that I made that had a cool curve to them. I'm sure most people would have thrown away the small offcuts. I've also used tiny pieces of wood for the roofs on little bird houses. I need other ideas on how to really use all of my what I consider scrap wood.
