Had some delays! Found a leak in the fibreglass unfortunately, so a new fibreglass company are coming to fix it this week then finally can do the final finishings, and start the edit :) Will be a few more weeks yet.

Here in Hungary we usually use Halibut pellet 20mm size with a pop up on the top of it.This bait has given me awesome sturgeons

Although it was only a brief moment, it's so nice to hear mental health spoken about especially as angling and nature is such a healer for many of us!!
I fish for sturgeon sometimes. My tip use pickeled herring (we call them Bismarck Hering) as bait and fish near the bank. Sturgeon normally swim around the bank to feed and the best time is early in the morning or later at the evening.
Biggest one I cought was a 40kg sturgeon, fought for over a half our before I was able to land it. We normally just play the fish until it is tired and then grab it's tail to "net them".

Sturgeon fishing is great. Really large spectacular fish that fight like crazy. And really easy to catch in most waters.
Mineral lakes, fished there my self, some huge fish in there. I've seen people using salmon as bait and raw beef cubes!!

Love the sturgeon content I chase 3 species here in the USA the white sturgeon on the west coast, the shovelnose and lake sturgeon back home in Minnesota. They are a special fish with a fight like no other it's definitely an addiction fishing for them. Tight lines brother!!

Phenomenal Lake Bill has there!! Just looked back on the photos from my last visit on that front lake; 7 and a half years ago my friend had the biggest in the lake at 67/68lb, I remember it coming out a few years later and being astonished that it had gone over the 100lb… crazy, 10 minutes from my doorstep… I need to get back down there. Did I miss the name of the venue? I replayed the opening part of the video, but still didn't get a venue name. Having fished in many parts of the world, it is always interesting to target something unusual or exotic to it's location.
They won't say the name as sturgeon aren't legal here in the UK as there invasive if they ever got into one of the rivers or canals, I'm not sure if you're able to get a licance to have the fish, I know the lake there's two on the site the lake he's fishing not many are allowed on there as there monster fish but there's another one with baby sturgeon and bigger sturgeon also with carp and the odd cat
@@ruthjukes2679 I thought they could be kept in licensed ponds as are Wels catfish, which is why I asked. I was surprised, however, when I saw sturgeon for sale in a garden centre with no permit needed (about 8years ago) while I wasn't able to source a mix of native species I wanted for a large clay pond that I was developing with native aquatic plants and fish It would, however, be nice to be able to fish this venue, as my last sturgeon catch was on the Cape Fear rive N.C when I was consulting in the USA.

I can give you a message on there don't feel comfortable just saying the lake on such a big platform, I haven't looked into it but I just know it's a thing to not talk about sturgeon lakes on social media, see it is odd I know a garden center that sells sturgeon not sure if you need a licance for them I'll have to give it some research

Another amasing video! Next time, use bloodworm boilies for sturgeon. Also, lay them in dip for at couple of days. Sturgoen like smelly bait. Baitzone makes some great bait for sturgeon. Use PVA bags on your rig so you make a Big smelly pit.

i caught a sturgeon 2 weeks ago, didnt even know there was a sturgeon stocked, gave me the shock and fight of my life, weigh 77lb!!!!!!!!!! amazing content

There's been some delays on the pond unfortunately, found a hole in the fibreglass in one of the bottom drains, it's getting fixed thankfully this week :) wood coping is getting finished next week, and then we can plants up the beds! Pt 3 will be out in May now.

Hi Carl, thanks for a great vid. What a giant sturgeon! In Holland we catch them with sour haring from a jar. Maybe you can try that if you return this summer to that lake. Good luck, keep on fishing and making those great videos. 👍🏻🎣👍🏻

Hi Carl ! Here in Slovakia we use Edam cheese for sturgeons , also we also put sometimes sweet spicy pop up.
Great video. Have never seen them in such a small body of water. We enjoy fishing for them on the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon.

Nice going, was on Holiday at a sports lake here in the Czech Republic where my friend is the Bailiff on and I was catching Sturgeon on everyday, but nothing like the size of the one in your video, I was using the lake special AKA as a very pungent (think sweaty socks) soft cheese in smal cubes on a size 6 barbless hook (only barbless allowed on the lake). Also managed to catch one of the smaller Beluga Sturgeon in the lake around 1.8m, unfortunately the lake rules are all sturgeon are to be unhooked on the mat and returned without weighing them. And my favourite was a small Abino sturgeon just under 1m. Great looking fish.

only thing i hate about sturgeon is you have to rock them forwards and back on release sometimes for about 10 minutes otherwise they can belly up. its a pain in the arse sometimes haha, some lovely fish in that lake though!!

If you fish for them again try chopped up lamprey you can get in freezer packs from good tackle shops 👍great video as usual 👍

Awesome fish I've caught a 12lb Sturgeon before in UK and it went off really hard so not surprised by that massive fish at the end.

Loved watching and about two months after I was lucky enough to fish it now I’m in a league on with fish it baits so I fish it 6 times a year now it’s incredible this lake it really is looking forward to seeing you next video on there tight lines mate

@@fishwithcarl I sure hope so!! We were rigged up for walleye, got our 3 man limit of those, then a Sturgeon unexpectedly hit our 10 lb test, still had him on for over 1 hour, I'll make sure to rig a pole up for those big guys next try😉

Great stuff. I’ve had a few big sturgeon myself luckily enough from the uk. We fish the new Celtic lakes in Lampeter in wales some monster carp cats and sturgeon in there 💪

U scould come to Denmark and try our sturgeon here, we have up to 100kg, and we have plenty off carp also here u can catch :D

If you used a back lead fishing on the chicago river you’d lose half your gear on the first session. Such a cool idea tho and I will definitely use that strategy in the places I can
