As I see it, tasker, auto tools, and secure settings are all essential.
This tool, ideally, would also give permissions needed for an unrooted phone for these other apps. At least, tell us what to do next and the Harry Potter spells we will need to run on adb.

Hello there, I have reported a problem with RMX3370 and Android 13 and this program can't grant permissions, says "looks like adb requires special permissions, enable "disable USB monitoring" but this option is not shown in the phone. Please advise, I cannot use Tasker like this.

I'm just now seeing this for the first time. Sounds like a good idea, except for the fact that you still need a pc to use it and not everyone has one. I've been trying to do it the Brevent way. At least with that i don't need a pc. unfortunately brevent can't find tasker

Ran the helper and all there appear to be enabled. BUT when I try to save a scene, I get Missing Permissions for Accessibility Access. In my settings Tasker already appears as enabled in Accessibility!
Can you please try disabling and re-enabling accessibility and see if that helps?
@@joaomgcd That didn't help, BUT the new "Keep Accessibility Running" item in preferences did! I enabled for AutoInput and AutoNotification and haven't had a problem yet. THANKS for a great app and for your dedication to it!

A very useful tool. Thanks. However, I was using this on a Windows 10 desktop computer with Windows Narrator. I am visually impaired and need the screen reader. Version 0.2.0 does not work (well, if at all) with this screen reade technology. Apparently Narrator was unable to find any of the necessary cues to be able to describe the app and it's controls. Pop-up windows and dialogues were handled ok by Narrator. I ended up having to use assistive technology on my smartphone to read the text off the desktop computer's screen. Clumsy, but I made it work for this limited usage.
Oh, sorry about that. I'll have to keep accessibility more in mind in the future.

Nope, you don't need a separate ADB download. The app already has its own built-in version of ADB. Hope this clarifies it!

@@joaomgcd I did and I granted all the permissions, but back in the adb part of tasker I don't have idea how to interact with the screen or toogle the wifi. Help please.
@@edu-kt Hi. To toggle Wifi you just need to use the "Wifi" action. By "interact with the screen" do you mean simulating screen clicks?
I have Tasker and Tasker Settings installed on my Tab S8+ but the Tasker Permissions app (windows) have got it to recognise the device and have granted tasker all the permissions... but when i try grant the tasker settings app the permission is wants i get a list of errors

@@joaomgcd I actually found the permissions app was not required for me when I uninstalled it and tried Tasker without it after granting tasker all the permissions it wanted
problem resolved... obv i was trying to give tasker something it didnt need for what I wanted to accomplish.
Having now forgotten which thing it was I wanted to do that I thought Tasker needed the permissions app for... I won't be able to tell you what exact thing I thought I needed the permissions app for now. Sorry 'bout that.

you can always run the commands directly with ADB if that helps.

@@joaomgcd i have the same issue. now it says cannot detect my device, sometimes device offline (I use blackberry key2)
I got a one plus 9T and even this app has trouble. It can read the access but something is blocking to change the needed permissies and I can't find it. Need help :(
Hi. That's a known issue on some devices. Can you please enable the option "Disable permission Monitoring" or "USB Debugging (Security Settings)" under "Developer options"? Hope this helps!

Most permissions are a one time thing. The only thing you need to enable on every reboot is ADB Wifi.
Is this STILL a viable option to unlock the ADB permissions settings?
This replaces having to do all that right?
I can't even toggle gps on/off through Secure Settings etc.

@@joaomgcd The warning that I got for adding the original ADB said that installing it opens up a port on your phone that if other apps discovered it could be used to gain access & control of admin rights to your phone.
@@ClickClack_Bam Yeah, it still opens up a port, but you will get a popup asking for permission every time something tries to connect, so no worries there.
Hello Joao, I've granted WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS through ADB on a MIUI 13 (disabled permissions check to do that, and rebooted) and command is correctly accepted. Even checked with Tasker permissions app , it confirms all permissions are granted to the device, but if I choose to toggle mobile data on/off , in example, it still ask me to enable Write_Secure_Settings or enable ADB Wifi (I'm o a non-root Xiaomi Mi 11i). Any advices?
Unfortunately mobile data toggling does require ADB Wifi, sorry :( Wish I could change that.
@@AutoApps ah ok, so the warning popup is misleading me to a wrong solution. Is possible to keep ADB Wifi enabled always doing "adb tcpip 5555" (or using tasker permissions app, is the same) or it will be reset after any power cycle/wifi toggle?

Yo, I got this working, but have another question about Tasker "Set SMS App"
I have a Samsung S21 Ultra.
Whenever I put my phone into Ultra Power saving mode, it changes my default sms app to the Samsung Messages app.
I want to set it back to Facebook Messenger when I come out of Power save mode....
I have the Profile setup and the task setup, but when I run the task. It runs with a green circle. But doesnt actually set the default SMS app! Do you know why it wouldn't be working?

Hello, my phone is Xiaomi 11T Pro with Tasker installed and my PC is on Windows 11. I followed the instructions but Tasker Permissions still don't see my phone ("No devices detected"). When i connect the phone to the PC i have only the standart options ("No data transfer", "File transfer/Android Auto" and "Transfer photos (PTP)" but no prompt for allowing the debugging. What can i do to resolve the problem?

@@joaomgcd got it working in the end. All permissions are granted. I will take advantage of your reply and kindly ask if it would be possible to add several actions to one button in the notification action. So I can change a variable and dismiss the notification with one button for example (having set the notification to permanent).
@@vipergx Yes, you can do that. Use the "Perform Task" action and perform another task with any number of actions from there :)

Hi, I'm trying this on Amazon Fire HD 8 (to test), i have Fire HD10 as well. I wanted to be able to kill an app in Tasker not even sure how to do that or what the correct command would be using ADB Wifi as that message appears when my tasker action of launching Rapid Ring fires. I don't have root. Wondering if this is even possible to do. The App is Rapid Ring com.ring.answer I believe the package. Would appreciate any guidance so I know if it's doable or not. Thanks
Yes, if you enable ADB Wifi the Kill App action should be able to kill apps :)

@@akhan999 If you enable ADB Wifi (for example with the app in the video) you can simply use the "Kill App" action in Tasker. It uses ADB Wifi commands under the hood :)

@@joaomgcd great thanks for your help. It seems to work. So the rapid ring video launches and then once it goes back to dashboard I see that the Video is gone and it just shows rapid ring app open only. Will test it out for a few days.
Final question please can I have 3 devices setup with your app at the same time with Adb WiFi? And does your app need to remain open at all times once permissions given?

This adb server's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set
Try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong.
Otherwise check for a confirmation dialog on your device.
What did I wrong or what have I to do?
Seems like you didn't authorize your PC to be able to connect to your phone. On the phone there should be a popup asking you to authorize it :)
