You're welcome!
Thank you for the video do you offer mentorship?
Great content here. I did stumble on it by accident, but it's a good one. I recently transitioned into UX design from architecture when I moved into the UK (just like you).
However, I haven't faired as well as you. Most of your tips identified ways to improve things. Would you mind a closer access to you for assistance/mentorship?
Started learning ux design last August, but im stucked dont know how to proceed. Maybe because I'm trying to transition into another career. With this, I think I'm ready to progress.
I need to follow this guy squarely, i have the same architecture background
😂😂😂 follow him squarely o, he sabi teach
Add captions pls, It would increase your views and would be really helpful.
What advice would you give me
i graduated on may 23 with a mechanical engineering degree. I am currently working as mechanical engineer. I came across us design because I wanted something remote and still relate to design. I also enjoy working as a team and at my current job I don’t have much teamwork involved or be remote. How or where should I start from here? Thank you!
As a UX researcher this video confirms how redundant my job is....that's why I'm trying to switch back to Product design. Would it be hard?
could you provide more content on why you feel your job is redundant and how this video confirms that.
🎉🎉🎉❤
Hi Samuel
im also a architecture graduate and ive been learning the fundamentals from coursera
how did you get a job without a certificate ?
I'm starting out on a product design course. I really want to niche down in Fintech, Web 3 specifically, I've always been very passionate about the crypto and web 3 space.
What's one thing you think can really help me, apart from what you've mentioned?
The Web3 space is really niche and there are lots of complex problems in the space. My advice for you is to invest in deep knowledge about the space. Start from first principles, don’t start with
Some fancy landing page design. Understand Web 3 and the problems hindering it from scaling. Then go up from there.
what if your goal is just because you enjoy technology and art?
actually that was my goal and it's a great goal
If I may ask, what career path were you at before you become a UI/UX Designer? Also, does having a background in brand design a necessary requirement to learn UI/UX? I’m thinking of diving into UI/UX as a former copywriter. I’d love your honest feedback, thanks
Brand design is very different to UX/UI design. You would also be competing with UX designers that have done brand design AND UX/UI design already. With the current market I would learn as much as I can prior to transitioning.
I was an architect, then a graphic designer, then a UX designer. You can watch the video about my journey here ua-cam.com/video/X7U613dOfKA/v-deo.htmlsi=EzIfUnldI4oo_8sx
To answer your question, having a brand design requirement is not a prerequisite, your brand design background can be very helpful in transitioning, because you should already understand the fundamental principles of design. As a former copy writer, UX writing could be a really good career path for you. You should research more about UX writing or content design
Add in some data analytics as well.
I made a video about data analytics that might interest you here is it ua-cam.com/video/kD98vXrodyw/v-deo.htmlsi=qg1bVfBAUBaq5JBt
