👍 great review Ben and a handy piece of kit. You should recommend them to No.10 for getting the log fire burning for the Christmas party😂

Cheers Paul, a couple of fire plugs and a few sticks of dynamite will do the job 😂👍

I do like them ben 👌 yes there's other alternatives but somebody took their time to create these firefighters and from what I've seen , they are worth a look 🔥👍

They look like a good product especially for people who do a lot of kayak camping knowing that if your gear gets wet you can still get a fire going quickly & get warmed up, I know some people will make their own but a lot won’t be arsed to make something & would rather buy them.

Aye I was impressed with them Tony; small enough to just chuck in your kit without any hassle. Atb mate 👍

I know you've had a few comments saying, well you can make them yourself. But that's not the point. These, for the money I think are brilliant value and obviously great quality given the soaking they had. I'll definitely look into them, only shame is they're in the U.S so extra postage costs. Cheers. Now if you don't mind, inspired by the 'you ca make them yourself' comments, instead of buying this house I'm looking at, just going to build one myself :-)

Hi mate, yeah they're controversial 😂 but I like them! I reckon £15 for 80 is decent value to be honest but as you say, postage from the US could tip the scales. I think you need to rent a plot up at 12 monkeys farm and build a small holiday shed for yourself. Take care mate 👍

I use something similar but I made it myself.
I used 4 ingredients, technically 3 (Wax, dental cotton rolls, and oil) but heat control is required.

Those plugs look like they would be great to carry , I can’t believe they started so easy after being in the water that long ! I also use a magnesium rod , you scrape some of it off and then ignite it with the fero rod, I think it burns something like 4000*.

Hi mate, I was surprised myself how easy it started after that soaking. The magnesium rod also sounds like a good idea 👍

Good fireplugs but also really easy to make your own and much cheaper 😀👍 Great content as always.

I went with the make your own route.
The hardest thing to find is Dental cotton. But as of this date you can find a box of 250 for around 8 bucks online. Wax and oil are easy to find but finding the materials that will blend and fit the requirements of the user is another hard part.

Good review. I would prefer to use self made alternatives, but that might be different for others. Good to see the product is doing exactly that what it is intended for.

I have a fire steel with a similar striker. It’s not really the best of strikers tbh … I suppose maybe It can be sharpened a bit to some effect …

So basically you purchased Tampons Soacked in Wax

  • @Markusbloodpet
    @Markusbloodpet 2 роки тому

Dip some cotton or tampons in wax and boom - you got the same thing.
This is just blatant advertisement for a much too expensive product.
Usually I love your videos and I get that you need to earn money, but this one doesn't get a like.

Fair enough mate, I guess they're not for everyone. I don't make any money from the video, apart from getting to keep the kit which is worth about 30 quid; I actually liked the product and I was under no obligation to give a positive review. Like most small channels these videos cost me time and money to make so the offer of a freebie in exchange for a review now and again is a small bonus 👍
