Now that's pretty crafty
Thank you. Much appreciated
Pretty impressive but I'm glad you stated to know your fire fundamentals. Sometimes we get to dependent on gadgets and ignore the skills we need to learn. Thanks for the video and yes the bug season is upon us. Take care, Al
I went on a pretty good little rant about that, and deleted it from the video. Lol. Fundamentals is the most important part. When one reads the comment section of a facebook ad for these things, it is quite clear there are a lot of people playing in the woods that probably shouldn't be. Those are the people these plugs are targeted for. That combined with just about every youtube review out there , from self proclaimed "survival experts", demonstrating the capabilities of the plug in perfect weather, leads to a false security of what these fire plugs are actually capable of. Fundamentals. Nothing beats them.
I opted to make the video as diplomatic as I could. Lol. Thank you for watching and commenting
They are my go to.
They are good fire starters
Now that is awesome😮😮
Pretty cool!
I’m a fan of these plugs. I use them all the time.
They work that is for sure
I bet you wear one with a tail attached.
Awesome video Justin amazing results I'm impressed too. Thank you for sharing and thank you for all that you do
Thanks man! I appreciate you
Ohhhhh those PLUGS are for starting fires!!
They’re not earplugs??? 😳🤪😆
@@alanbierhoff6831 no butt plugs??
.......umm....🤣
@@ItsGoodintheWoods Bahahaha 🤣
Those plugs are great. I’ve been using them off and on for over a year. I’ve added a few to all my fire starting kits as well.
I agree. These are solid!
I did a similar test by accidentally leaving a couple of these in the mud next to the campfire ring overnight during a rain storm. They were really dirty and wet but still lit.
Always good to know what they are capable of....
Great demonstration ! Extreme one would say ! That would have been a horrible time for forgetting to turn the camera on for smashing the ice !😂🤣 See you soon bub !
I checked and double checked and then checked again to make sure that camera was rolling🤣
Those guys work well and I HAVE used them w/wet everything else and they have still worked. My first choice is still hexamine. That being said, I've not put anything through the paces as you have - so thanks !
They do work quite well. I was very impressed they stood up to this challenge
I bought some of these really early on (when they first started showing up on UA-cam).
I’ve used a whole bunch of them but I also know I’ve given away more than I’ve used lol. I think I’ve placed at least 3 different orders.
I always wait until there’s some sale or deal on them (which happens pretty often).
These, and the original UST Wetfire tinder are my equal favorites.
They do go on sale a lot. I figured it is because they don't really sell a lot of them, but that is purely speculation on my end. They are a great little fire plug.
Very impressive. I have been using the small round make-up pads soaked in a 50/50 solution of paraffin and lighter fluid. Have been working great for me, although I have not tested as rigorously as you have here. Perhaps I will.....(very cheap to make regardless....)
I was impressed with these. That said, I won't be buying any when these are gone. lol. Like you, I make my own with makeup pads as well.
It would be interesting to see the same water/ice test with a good pice of fat wood
Fantastic idea!
👍
Thank you
That's wild! The jet fuel wax probably stays in tact better in the ice as opposed to the liquid water? 🤷 Curious if Petroleum jelly and cotton ball would stand up to the test as well, guessing not. #Science!
I like to make my fire starters from pertoleum jelly and round makeup pads. I make little fire starter sandwiches . They work awesome. If I wanted to take the time to melt wax and dip the starters in the wax, I am sure they would be waterproof to the same degree
