Watching this clip reminds me of my teenage years Watching football with my Dad. Now both announcers are deceased as well as my Father & Sweetness...Great memories, i wish i could go back for One More Sunday afternoon with my Pops ! 😢
I recall Jim McMahon throwing a long bomb TD to Willie Gault in this game, and if I remember correctly he either broke or dislocated the pinky on his throwing hand when it grazed the helmet of a Broncos pass rusher on the follow-through.
this game was the last non-sellout in Bears history this final blackout of the Bears kept WMAQ in Chicago, WIFR in Rockford, and WNDU in South Bend from airing this game
I was at this game with good seats, and I remember this run. As far as the game, Elway was hurt and didn't even start. Kubiak started and was knocked out of the game early, so Scott Stankavage (who?) played qb for the Broncos. It was a slaughter ... Bears won 27-0, and it could have been worse. =D
Right opponent wrong game 76 yard run vs the broncos in 1978 @Mile High Stadium on MNF "SWEETNESS"did not score on the run & the bears lost the game.16-7
I thought it was the Vikings and he was sick ---his longest run called back. Didn't he have fever and still played 274 yards something like that, against the Vikings? He my fav of all time that a never change 34ever
The Bears played the Broncos in 87 with a healthy McMahon and lost a great game . . . to say they would've destroyed the Broncos is silly. It would've been a good game.
Nobody did it better than sweetness!!
How Sweet it is!!!

Don Criqui and Bob Trumpy are still alive.
Broncos went on to win 10 straight games after this 27-0 beat down in Chicago. They really struggled playing there...losing in 81, 83, and 84.
I wish he can play today

Golden age of football!

Matterrock1 75 yards
Nope. 84 yrd run called back in Philly in a 1979 playoff game for illegal motion. What a run.

@@warrenbfeagins He was tackled on the one- yard line, but like you said it was negated because of the penalty.
BTW this game was the last time a Bears game got blacked out. And to this day I have no idea why they couldn't see enough tickets for this game.
Last game ever blacked out in Chicago
Do you have this whole game?
#66 is practicing his forward rolls!!
Bears shoulda won the super bowl in 86 and 87. They would have destroyed the Broncos both times.
Yeah. But what about the Broncos? Brincos weren't anything.
@@MGAF688 you know what I meant
