Could you merge this with your newest Pixel 2D Top Down and have one level be side scroller and another level such as the world level be using the top down template?

If you own both there is nothing stopping you from enabling both plugins in the same project. From there you can set your game up to switch between the game modes and pawn controls etc when switching levels.
